I don't really care though...things are going well for me right now.
Don't worry, we will. Ray knows a lot about some of the earlier stuff, and I got the underground down.

 Anyone?

Bartender 05-07-2005 07:35 PM

I have downloaded them. Watching a film though :)

ATM 05-07-2005 07:57 PM

I just went to Borders and bought:

Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band for mothers day
Sin City novel
Sketch book
Sonic Youth - Screaming Fields Of Sonic Love

Illmatic 05-07-2005 08:11 PM

I didn't get my mom anything for Mother's Day. I'm going to bank on the sentimental gift of being home will be enough for her.

magicbus 05-07-2005 08:11 PM

Good album, good novel, always good, never heard it.

Right now I'm drawing a picture of the devil for my friend's "Dante's Inferno" board game/project. It'll be badass, so I'll try to scan it when I'm done.

ATM 05-07-2005 08:11 PM

Ray, I was thinking for the rap/hip hop FG, we could list all the artists that we think need to be covered first, and then work from there.

Yea the Sin City novel looks like it's going to be a great read. I started looking at it in line, and it's excellent.

Illmatic 05-07-2005 08:15 PM

Like who?

magicbus 05-07-2005 08:16 PM

Which novel did you get?

ATM 05-07-2005 08:17 PM
Which novel did you get?
It's called Family Values.
Like who?
Just all the rappers that we think people should know about.

Illmatic 05-07-2005 08:22 PM

That's an awful long list.

I also think it's vital that my girlfriend meets my friend, just to set everything straight.

Well, I'm not sure where else to start with it.

I am really enjoying this Sonic Youth album. It's my first ever.

Illmatic 05-07-2005 08:33 PM

It's not their best, actually.

What friend? What is there to set straight?

I think I must have missed things.

EDIT: Oh, that friend. Forget I said anything.

lunch998 05-07-2005 08:56 PM

So I'm writing a FA/Biography of The Who, but for no real reason. It's going quite well, but I have nothing to use it for.

Jom 05-07-2005 08:56 PM

Jimmy is fine, although I'll probably feel like I'm eight years old when being spoken to.

But seriously, whatever's fine. Jommy doesn't seem to have that ring to it, I s'pose.

Kind of a bunch of random posting will commence below (but not really):

Can someone tell me about Fear Before the March of Flames? Kind of a cool name to me, but I don't know what they play. The one commercial I saw of them lasted for like five seconds, and they sound like something that would belong in Hardcore/Emo, but I'm too intimidated/wussy to go post there. Perhaps if you could say a similar artist or two, that'd be helpful.

Ray, I agree with you when you say your friend should meet your girlfriend. I would advise against a threesome though. I know, I'm sure that never crossed your mind. Even still, I would say that it is imperative that they at least meet face-to-face so each girl knows and sees how the other's relationship with you is different (and similar, in some cases, perhaps?) than the other. But I'm no Dr. Phil of advice like that. I genuinely hope it works out, and I have confidence that it will.

Oh, and no one is under any obligation to look, but:

Okay kids, this is why you don't slide in baseball with just shorts on
Vertical shot (sort of, but not very clear)

I have been peroxide'ing, Neosporin'ing, and antibacterial soaping like a mother the past couple days.

Permanent Solution 05-07-2005 09:03 PM

That's lame, no one gets injuries in a wussy sport like baseball :p

FBTMOF is sorta hardcore/metalcore I think, let me listen real fast (I got it from someone off AIM and never listened, oops) I'll be able to help you out with that more in a few mins :)

Yeah, Hardcore/Emo material. I haven't heard them myself, but that's what reviews in the old forum told me. I can't give you similar bands (having not hear them myself), but you could go and check the CD Reviews archive; a user called Darknessca (if I remember correctly), who seemed to sign up just to review hardcore/emo albums, reviewed a couple of their albums.

TheDMV 05-07-2005 09:07 PM

Those skid marks looked pretty painful AntiHero. I never got into baseball, Football(the American version) and Basketball for me.

Wow, it must be late if I check Sputnik awhile ago and totally miss their name. I mean, it sticks out from the rest of the bands because of its length.

Um, hi. I'm retarded.

I should probably get to bed.

I also could have sworn that I've posted less in this thread than my number dictates :(

Take care, all.
Something about baseball being wussy.
Okay, you hit a 90MPH fastball with a wood bat

/doesn't care that you dislike the sport and am just writing more than I should

I just hate that filmy crap that I have to scrape off. That's the worst.

EDIT: Crap, I have to stay and watch SNL... I'm interested to see what SOAD is going to play, and how Johnny Knoxville hosts.

Dancin' Man 05-07-2005 09:56 PM

Awesome day today. One of the best I've had in recent memory.

- Woke up and took my SATs. Very easy. There was an anti Quentin Tarrantino queston in the grammar section. Essay = cake.
- Went to giant grocery store Wegmans and got a very good sandwich.
- Went to dance. Had rehearsal for 2.5 hours
- Went down to the commons (pedestrian zone) and walked around with friends. Sat around in a park and talked to a homeless guy with a tracheotomy. He rambled. He was cool.
- Went to friends house where I sat around outside on her porch with hotgirl and another kid who is a hippie.
- Gradually people filtered in and out of the house but my friend, hot girl and I stayed the whole time. Hot girl and I ended up in a bed. Fun happened.
- Friends parents came home. Almost caught in the act. No uncomfortable-ness though. Everyone was cool.
- Watched about half of some movie. Friend flipped out at her parents halfway through and hot girl and I went back upstairs until Friend and Friend's mom stormed out of the house for some reason unknown to me. Dad called and I abandoned Hot Girl who hopes to be asleep before Friend gets home so she doesn't have to listen to whining for a few hours.

The SAT and flip out were basically not so great but entirely outweighed by my day with Friend and Hot Girl (who may be girlfriend or at least unspecified significant other shortly) because they are two of my favorite people ever.

Tomorrow - Record with band mate then come home and do mother's day things for my mother.

I haven't been in this thread, or mx at all lately. but I'll be on for a couple hours tonight, as well as tomorrow.

Anyways, for Mother's Day, me and my bro are buying my mom a sweet dog from an Animal Shelter. She's a Border Collie crossed with Rottwiller. That's wicked

Well, I finished my bio on The Who. Maybe I'll make it an FA eventually.

Permanent Solution 05-07-2005 10:53 PM

An FA on The Who would be ace. On a slightly on topic subject: My dad won a collection of all their CDs in a radio contest along with front row tickets while they were touring and a copy of one of their Gold/Platinum album plaque things. It was awesome.

Then I have on done. Like I just said in the CR thread though, it seems like most FAs are about lesser-known artists/bands. As opposed to The Who, nearly everyone knows/has heard some of their songs.

Edit: Nevermind, I forgot about the FAs on The Doors, Guns and Roses, etc..
