Yea I have no idea what the train yards are like over there but here it would be nearly impossible to train hop. I've never seen a ridable train in any of the yards around here... aah well.

Thats the bike I'll probably be riding. It needs a fair amount of work first though. I need to find some new wheels and find a new thing to go on the back wheel...where the chain goes.

Im gonna take some milkcrates and attach them to the back and I know how to carry my bag, but any tips for carrying an acoustic in a hard case? I don't want it flying off when I'm riding along main roads.
Theres always buying a soft case back pack. Or hell you could make one if you really wanted.

POINTLESS5448 07-25-2006 12:20 AM

so i was browsing through the pages of some skate mag on the plane yesterday and i came across these jeans that had the dc logo on the pocket and the looked cool so i decided to make myself a stencil and spray it on my jeans. (whoever was spraying stencils on those white jeans helped with this idea aswell. sorry i dont remeber who it was)

yes its crooked and yes its too big and little bits are cut off, thats how its supposed to look.

Brain Toad 07-25-2006 12:23 AM

DIYing corporate logos on clothes. The irony could make one's head explode.

asdf 07-25-2006 12:24 AM

I do DIY stuff for the purpose of profit. Make tie-dye, buttons, patches etc. Now that's great. Things that people can obviously make themselves, I sell to them.

good rats 07-25-2006 12:38 AM
If you're gonna have the milkcrates tall enough and you're sure they'd be secure enough, you could strap the guitar to the back of the crates. Make sure there's still room to be able to see behind you, or get one of those side-mirror dealies you can attach to your handle but that can be taken off afterwards.

Also, take lots of puncture repair kits.
Yea chances are I'll strap the guitar onto the back.

Or I might get two milkcrates, put them side by side, and cut off the part seperating them both, so I then have 1 big crate..The guitar could fit in there along with a lot of other stuff.

EDIT: Also, anyone have any experience with DIY tattoos?

PipeBomb 07-25-2006 02:28 AM

trainhopping from a trainyard allways seemed kidna unnessessarily risky

you could allways go down about a mile after the yard and hdie then when the train starts to pass just run your *** of and reach for somethin to grab hold of

I wouldn't try it, you wouldn't want to mess up and it be there forever.

Danger Bird 07-25-2006 02:51 AM

Here's how to make a weed pipe out of an apple. A lot of people will tell you to use the top as the bowl but this way cuts out the hassle of coring it and guessing where to put the chamber hole.

IT'S IRIE!

How do you make the holes?
Also, anyone have any experience with DIY tattoos?
Don't take DIY too far, else if you get cancer you're gonna ask about DIY chemo and next thing we know you've got your head in a microwave and aluminium foil wrapped around your cancerous bits. Leave some things for the professionals.

It isn't actually that dangerous. I've been reading up about it a fair bit and it all seems pretty safe if you know what you're doing.

I did it when I was younger... and simply put. It was a mistake. All ive got to show for it are a few messy black dots on my arm.

Anyway the whole point (Well sort of) with DIY is to avoid buying from massive companys such as Wal-Mart. Tattoo shops are genrally independent and small anyway.. meaning its a good thing to support them. Making your own gun will proably end up costing more, hurting more and giving you skin cancer more.

I bet you would end up buying the ink and componants from somewhere like Wal-Mart anyhow.

PipeBomb 07-25-2006 08:34 AM

hah! my diy tat looks alright, it is only a small anarchy sign on my palm though

A couple of my friends tattooed themselves last summer. Seems perfectly fine, although I don't think they did a very good job. They only did simple stuff, though.

How much would you sell a shirt for. Do you determine it by the amount of work, how many layers, amount of letterings or what?? Im thinking most likely a flat rate of 5-10$(US).

Danger Bird 07-25-2006 05:30 PM
How do you make the holes?
For the bowl, insert a spoon and twist, then use the handle of the spoon to punch out a stem. It's an apple, so anything would work. You could take a bite out for the bowl and jam a pencil through to the other side.

Tattoo shops still charge a fair amount of money that I don't have. And I can make a tattoo gun with parts from home for free. Chances are I wouldn't even have to leave the house to get stuff for it, so it would be much cheaper than going to a tattoo shop...

I'll let you all know how it turns out. It's not going to be anything big, really small near my foot to try it out.

Converge#12 07-25-2006 06:29 PM

my dads friend died of cancer from a diy tatoo. Its a dumb idea and isnt really saving all that much money.

I rarely sell any stenciled stuff just because of the sheer amount of work that can go into it. Coustom shirts/patches are pretty difficult, and I usually only do them as gifts for friends.

coheneran 07-25-2006 07:22 PM

Really? A friend of mine does shirts and patches in bulk and sells them for £5 and £1.50, respectively.

Silkscreened?

Likely, I'm just lazy.

Silkscreened.

Well that's different then stenciling. It's much easier to mass-produce.

The apple trick haha. Never turns out good cause nobody I know ever takes the time to make one.

I'm working on a shirt now, I'll post pics when it's finished.

cleaning up is a bitch, especially if you use photo emulsion stuff.

coheneran 07-26-2006 06:14 PM

Cleaning the oil-based paint off the screen is hell. That's why I don't do it much.
