n00b.

So instead of giving some bull**** answer like that you could also try and explain why you think reviews ON THIS SITE WHERE NOONE LISTENS TO THIS KIND OF MUSIC are so helpful? People who want to buy records by bands like Ten Grand are resourceful enough to get into underground music so I guess they're resourceful enough to type "Ten Grand" +review into a search engine and click search.

Most of you are so stuck in some kind of emo popularity scene contest it's hard to tell the difference between someone who actually likes the music (and most importantly, the whole mindset and subculture) and someone who is just a douche trying to score some street cred.
Meh, whenever I see a review on the front page, I check it out. If I don't know the band, and they convince me its good, then I go get it. People may not type it in, but for the time its on the front page, its helpful.

I think that I just like to review music and find it fun to post them on occasion. I've reviewed alot of stuff that's very, mainstream such as Frances the Mute and Roman Candle. So it's not like I'm just reviewing underground records, I'm really just reviewing things that I find really good, and that I think other people would find really good too.
I trim mine with scissors
i use to do that when i was like 13.

then i decided i didn't care about body hair anymore.

i just talk about it on web forums.

RetiredAt21 02-04-2006 01:25 PM
yeah indian summer had their really good songs, and their mediocre. i'd give em a 3/5. they are just more of an important band in hardcore history.
I like all of their songs, pretty much.

k1ckthecat 02-04-2006 01:34 PM

Millimete.

RetiredAt21 02-04-2006 02:42 PM
I watched the CTTS video finally. It's pretty cool but they make a lot of mistakes (especially the new guitarist) and they aren't as active as I'd like. I need to see them live though.
Everyone I talk to that has seen them live say that they are a bit sloppy when performing live.

cbmartinez 02-04-2006 03:06 PM

They're not really sloppy, it's just their tone is kinda muddy and on the whole they aren't that energetic.

RetiredAt21 02-04-2006 03:36 PM
They're not really sloppy, it's just their tone is kinda muddy and on the whole they aren't that energetic.[

That doesn't really bother me when bands aren't jumping around and all that.

cbmartinez 02-04-2006 08:30 PM

Same.

Jawaharal 02-04-2006 09:05 PM

Anybody have any life detecting coffins songs? I only have a split they did with off minor, but I like their song alot.

I've got a cd. AIM me at Pixiesfanyo.

I would equate it to the Mesa he uses.

I wouldn't say not energetic, but more along the lines of awkward.

So...

I'm making my first post here. I finally understand emo and screamo. And I love them both, especially the screamo I've been listening to.

whiteminority 02-04-2006 10:41 PM

What you been listening to?

Brain Toad 02-04-2006 10:44 PM
What you been listening to?
Saetia was first.
Then Orchid, Hot Cross, City of Caterpillar, and Pg. 99
Today it was Circle Takes the Square and Funeral Diner
Then I reached my understanding of the reasons for the screaming and just the pure passion of it all.

Emo wise I was just wandering around the scenes between Embrace and Rites of Spring to Cap'n Jazz and the like.

whiteminority 02-04-2006 10:49 PM

Word. Circle Takes the Square and Orchid were my first two emo bands, Non-Objective Portrait of Karma and Epilogue of a Car Crash by each respectively.

AIRIC 02-04-2006 10:55 PM

I've gotten into it a lot lately too. I've listened to As the Roots Undo probably 10 times in the last week.

I've got:
Pg99, Orchid, Funeral Diner, Capn Jazz, CTTS, Hot Cross, Antioch Arrow, Indian Summer, Heroin, Rites of Spring, City of Caterpillar, Neil Perry.

If someone could AIM me at Skrunnch and send me some other stuff it would be great, or at least recommend some stuff that you know I can find on Soulseek.

Luxor 02-04-2006 11:11 PM

I really just don't get Orchid. I have "Chaos Is Me", is their a better album that I'm missing out on or something?

AIRIC 02-04-2006 11:12 PM

Orchid aren't really my favorite either. They seem a bit to spazzy chaotic for me. I have Dance Tongith! Revolution Tommorow!

deadohiosky9 02-04-2006 11:27 PM

chaos is me, and dance tonight revolution tomorrow are their top releases in my opinion. if chaos is me doesn't do it for you, then they just aren't your type of band. probably the only chaotic/spazzy band i like.

whiteminority 02-04-2006 11:31 PM
I really just don't get Orchid. I have "Chaos Is Me", is their a better album that I'm missing out on or something?
Check out Gatefold. They aren't as chaotic but it is sooo good. It is their last release before they broke up.
