I'm pretty sure it refers to Bambi. The "menagerie of friends" and the friend who "causes turbulence" (the bunny that always thumps the ground)...
Ok, untr00. Slatanic: The :naughty: smiley is NOT your friend. Also, if anyone can figure out who the hell the "one straddling an androgynous fence" is, I will...not hurt you? EDIT: Ok, I just figured it out, now I know that it is definitely 100% about Bambi. hehehe  |

Like I say I've never seen it, it's pretty cool though that to make a thrash song about Bambi, I suppose it makes a change from Blasphemy, Ridiculing Society, War etc. basically heavier, more 'taboo' subjects. |
Oh, I got Annihilator - Alice in Hell+ Never, Neverland today, haven't listened to it yet but, I'll talk more about it when I've listened to it :thumb:
Good, I have Alice in Hell, but I wanna know what Never Never LAnd is like, cause I heard it had some weak points throughout, and really isn't worth getting But tell me what you think |

But tell me what you think
Alice in Hell is great, I've got as far as listening to World Salad, despite the fact it contains quite a few clasical elements, its an awesome thrash album, has some excellent riffs and my god, the solos on world salad are fucking awesome. Anyway, when I've listened to Never Neverland I'll post what I think and let you know whether it's worth getting :thumb: |

is my list of bands for bored thrash fans now being reffered to as The List?
I have never really got into Annihilator, only Alice in Hell seems worth getting and that still seems overated. Ps - Feel free to add bands to The List :) |
I think Never Neverland is slightly better than Alice in Hell. Some great songs I thought were: Imperiled Eyes, Kraf Dinner, Mayhem, Fun Palace and Road to Ruin.
|
Oh yes, Still Reigning is much better than War at the Warfield.
|
I didn't think Never Never Land was as good as Alice in Hell. Mind you, i've never been a big Annihilator fan anyway
|
Most people seem to like that album more.
|
Alice In Hell is great. I kind of like Set The World On Fire Too.
|

I find it hard to believe that it sold 250,000 copies and was Roadrunners biggest selling release. Great album though but I would have thought something like Slipknot would be much bigger in sales, or do they mean to date, I think they do, SHIT :o |

Back then, best seller yes... there's no way in hell 250,000 is Roadrunners biggest selling release...especially when they have bands like Nickelback on their **** filled roster. Worst label ever, but at the same time, they're one of the best labels ever. |
The latest to my collection:
Destruction - Live Discharge : 20 Years of Total Destruction Sodom - Mortal Way of Live Tower wanted 19 for Persecution Mania, and seeing that almost every song from Persectuion Mania worth listening to was on Mortal Way of Live (3 bucks less), I got that instead. It still kicks ***, taking that it has NUCLEAR WINTER! Destruction's DVD is awesome. So much **** on one disc, it's amazing how they got it all on there. Tons of funny moments too. It's definitely worth the money and time. |
Yeah, look at the bands Roadrunner used to have...
Mercyful Fate, Whiplash, Xentrix, Deicide, King Diamond, Annihilator, Exhorder, Pestilence, Suffocation....who else? I can't be bothered thinking. Who do they have now? Obituary, that's about it. |

Anyway, there was a thread started which I think was advertising a Swedish thrash band, Bobo recommended the thread for closure, so to avoid bumping it to inform the threadstarter he can post the link here, I'll just post it instead, http://phobos.qml.net/~blackshift, Obviously they're called Blackshift, it's decent thrash IMO although it does sound a little 'Nu', has some great thrash parts though, some decent double bass fills, vocals are a bit shit though, enjoy :thumb: Feel free to rep+ Bobo as it was his idea. |
Roadrunner still have Sepultura? I though they were on SPV.
I'll check out that band in a second. I'm always skeptical about Thrash from Sweden. |

I think it's it's better if we only talk about Sepultura in their pre Chaos A.D days :D Animosity: Never, Neverland is not that good IMO, it has some kick ass solos but everything else is not very good thrash at all, some of the vocals piss me off too. I wouldn't go as far as saying its the worst thrash album but it's near the bottom. |

It wasn't until Roots they turned into a pile of rotting crap |

I have mixed emotions about Chaos AD, it's got some kick ass songs on it like Refuse/Resist, Biotech is Godzilla(great song in fact not thrash, more hardcore IMO), Territory and Cleched Fist but what the hell was that tribal garbage all about, Kiawaos(sp) and Roots, well it's just Soulfly Mk.I. It's weird how they went from playing awesome thrash to whatever metal you clasiify Chaos AD as  Oh god, i've totally contradicted my earlier post, er I'm gonna go kill myself. NP: Slayer - South of Heaven |
I think Chaos AD is actually a **** good album. It wasn't until Roots they turned into a pile of rotting crap
Yeh I agree IMO Chaos A.D is a well-structured album. It has all the elements to look for, and Sepultura was still great until they released Roots, which was the start of failure. |

Should get Warhead - Speedway/ Day After and Sadus - DTP demo in the next few days too |
Agreed
Got Devastation - Signs of Life today. They sort of sound like Dark Angel with a worst vocalist. Should get Warhead - Speedway/ Day After and Sadus - DTP demo in the next few days too
I thought the same about Devastation too, good thrash with vocals that are worse than the music. NP: Metallica - Jump in the Fire, please don't hurt me, especially you Dargon. |
Idolatry (devastation) has decent vocals, but the earlier stuff has terrible ones.
I got some Speed Kill Hate songs today, and it is indeed good stuff. |

I wonder if RCA has got the order of that album yet To Slatanic: k, thanx for the opinoin, I'll trust your review of it and not look into the album :thumb: I was never a big Annihilator fan any way |

To Slatanic: k, thanx for the opinoin, I'll trust your review of it and not look into the album :thumb: I was never a big Annihilator fan any way
Well I'm no metal conniseur but you don't have to be that sharp to know what sounds good and what doesn't, I would say my short review was pretty accurate but you may actually like what I don't like, ah well I'm gonna stop rambling now. NP: Dark Angel - Perish in Flames/Darkness Descends(live) |
Devastation's vocals may be bad (apart from Idolatry), but its still good music, and worth having. IMO anyway
|
Devastation's vocals may be bad (apart from Idolatry), but its still good music, and worth having. IMO anyway
Oh yeah, absolutely, the music is great thrash but I suppose you just have to put up with the vocals. Dargon: I was checking out Speed Hate Kill. Is acts of insanity their only release? I couldnt find their discography on their site. The vocals are Max Cavalera esque IMO and the music is some excellent thrash, sounds quite modern but I didn't check to see how old they are or rather the samples I listened to. Anyway, I think I'm gonna be hearing a lot more Speed Kill Hate from now on. NP: Overkill - I Hate |
Speed Kill Hate is a newer band formed by members of Overkill.
Yes, I have Acts of Insanity now. No, I don't have it ripped yet, fucking computer... I'm going to try to finish my reviews of Horrorscope, Years of Decay, and Tapping The Vein tommorow during my first period class. All of them should be up by the end of this week. NP: The 285 bpm skullfuck rampage that is The Burning of Sodom |
Picked up the Demons & Wizard album, even though its not thrash
I was thinking.......it would be cool if Flotsam & Jetsam played like a reunion show or something, because NP: F&J - Metalshock........and Newsted is a great bassist, too bad Metallica was too dumb to actually use any of his talent |
