I cannot stand how everyone mentions Neutral Milk Hotel anymore. I have not heard anything by them but it's really been hard to not hear their name being dropped for the last 9 months.
And my prediction for Interpol is that they won't be on Matador for much longer.

spikeyjoey 04-12-2005 02:42 PM

hi...i just left one of my bands cuz we werent makin progress and i didnt have time (needed to study etc.)..but now my other band has gotten into the habit of booking practices after school without even confirming with me, which is really beginning to piss me off..should i leave that too and form a new one after my exams?

I've never heard anyone besides me or my brother mention them. Ever. Anywhere.

fatbandit 04-12-2005 02:42 PM

I agree. Not sure with what, but I do.

Woo... About 2 hours of work left on my Business Project #1...

jaco jr 04-12-2005 02:44 PM

wow - i just listened to some of the lyrics for system of a down - theyre quite good and meaningful - as well as good music

Mitchell Royce 04-12-2005 02:45 PM

Hmm, I guess part of the reason is that a lot of my friends are into indie(as I am) so that's probably why that nem popped up a lot. Are they actually any good? the name reminds me of Pavement so I'm assuming that's what they'll sound like.

Spaceman Spiff 04-12-2005 02:51 PM

I like them.
Why don't you check them out and see if you do?

neal_672 04-12-2005 02:52 PM

Mitchell Royce 04-12-2005 02:54 PM

I'm scared of new bands. Have you got MSN, spiff? You could send me a song or two.

jaco jr 04-12-2005 02:56 PM
hey neal - dont suppose youve bid on my electro-acoustic yet?
oh no
you havent :upset:

Thunder Fingers 04-12-2005 02:58 PM

im not a fan of new bands either.. becouse everyone is trying to do something new, so im sick of that, if there where some new band, just Making Music and not trying to do something new, they would clearly catch my intrest...

neal_672 04-12-2005 02:58 PM

I'm so ****ing sick of my ex-girlfriend :upset:

I like old + new :thumb:

Spaceman Spiff 04-12-2005 02:59 PM

I haven't got any mp3s of them.

From what I see, most bands out there aren't doing anything new.

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:02 PM

Nonetheless it doesn't stop the music being good even if it isn't revolutionary. At the end of the day we're bound to run out of new stuff eventually as there's only so much you can do..

fatbandit 04-12-2005 03:03 PM

I know my band isn't doing anything new. If everyone pioneered stuff, I think it could be too overwhelming.

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:07 PM

So anyone up to much?

jaco jr 04-12-2005 03:09 PM
So anyone up to much?
ive got the basis of a song on my bass for one of my bands
its all tapping :D

Mitchell Royce 04-12-2005 03:11 PM

Just to clear up some things. I like music that does new things a lot but I've been buying CD's like a madman and I'm afraid that if Neutral Milk Hotel are actually as good as some people claim I will need to get their Albums as well which my bank account won't like at all.
New music all the way.

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:14 PM

My 2 favourite bands are old but i listen to new music just as much methinks...

jaco jr 04-12-2005 03:15 PM

bloody gives me a dead arm though - too much tapping

fatbandit 04-12-2005 03:15 PM

Lets just find bands with loads of albums, which Mitchell will like, so we can force him to buy them all!

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:16 PM

Mitchell go buy every Pink Floyd album :thumb:

Mitchell Royce 04-12-2005 03:19 PM

I've got my dad for that, neal. All the clasic rock bases are covered.

AlmightyPancake 04-12-2005 03:21 PM

Mmm... the great pancake becomes 17 tomorrow. How exciting. Think of all the new crazy stuff i can do...

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:22 PM

well - whta country do you live in
if its the uk you can drive - if not - you probably can already

Mitchell Royce 04-12-2005 03:24 PM

Why buy them when you can rip them? I've also got all my doors and Led Zep stuff from him. In return I've turned him onto Nick Cave.

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:25 PM

Erm you can learn to drive (in the UK) that's pretty major!

Your pictures make you look older... I thought you were older.

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:26 PM

The Doors are awesome. Led Zep = my second fave band. I cannot get into Nick Cave at all, i don't know why, i've only heard a few songs but they don't appeal...

Seconds this comment.
The Kinks and early Pink Floyd was so much better!

jaco jr 04-12-2005 03:34 PM

and how many people wish that paul mccartney got shot instead of lennon?
might have saved us all from hearing his really bad solo stuff

neal_672 04-12-2005 03:36 PM

Now that's a bit harsh...
