They're kinda like Hardcore music with Death lyrics.

ATM 10-31-2007 06:34 PM

What's a good album to get?

LifeInABox 10-31-2007 06:34 PM

War Master.
What's a good album to get?
You really can't go wrong so long as you get one that came out later than 88, and features Karl Willetts on vocals.

Deth 10-31-2007 06:36 PM

Those Once Loyal, ...For Victory, War Master, Realm of Chaos, hell just about anything.

FatalEnergy 10-31-2007 06:37 PM

I remember Realm of Chaos being my favorite out of all of them. I haven't listened to them in years though.

pate 10-31-2007 07:02 PM

Those Once Loyal is my favorite.

RetiredAt21 10-31-2007 07:32 PM
Who do Bolt Thrower sound like?
****ing awesome.

masscows 10-31-2007 07:42 PM
Those Once Loyal is my favorite.
For Victory and War Master are just as good as Those Once Loyal imo.

Deth 10-31-2007 07:43 PM

Almost all Bolt Thrower is consistently good anyway.
They're kinda like Hardcore music with Death lyrics.

They had lots of crust/hardcore influence on the first 2 albums but everything from War Master onwards is as pure death metal as anything. Get your **** straight before you come in here trying to act like the death metal expert.

The lyrics are about war anyways, not "death".

LifeInABox 10-31-2007 08:30 PM

Wow hahahah

RetiredAt21 10-31-2007 09:06 PM
War Master.
judging your definition of hardcore, i'll let this slide.:p
judging your definition of hardcore, i'll let this slide.:p
Okay. Since you know it all, what's my definition of "hardcore"?

C.O.A. 10-31-2007 11:24 PM

this should be interesting...

Jondur 11-01-2007 04:16 AM
Screamo and metalcore have nothing to do with "deathcore" you jackass.
You know what, I have absolutely no idea what the difference between all these cores is. but I'll give it a try:

Metalcore: tough guy yanks (even if they're from Belgium)
Screamo: floppy fringed, studded belt wearing girly men.

Am I close?

Personally I like UK hardcore (Discharge, Amebix etc) and old school US hardcore (Minor Threat, Black Flag, Agnostic Front, Sick of it all etc).

i am the robots 11-01-2007 10:45 AM

Noes, your stereotypes are off... damn trendfags. :(
Okay. Since you know it all, what's my definition of "hardcore"?
You call stuff like All Shall Perish "core," I was just poking fun, no need to get offended bb.

masscows 11-01-2007 10:51 AM

yeah girly men in studded belts play metalcore too now

Well your views on Metalcore and Screamo are a little tainted but at least you know what real hardcore is. I guess actually being alive during it's reign helps.

i am the robots 11-01-2007 02:42 PM

I actually don't know much British hardcore, could you recommend me some Jondur?

Easiest way to put it would be as such:
Metalcore: http://www.myspace.com/skycamefalling1021
Screamo: http://www.myspace.com/circletakesthesquare

Too bad, since ...For Victory is probably the best.
Yeah, The opening of Tank Mk I and Lest we Forget always gets me.

If you want BT don't listen to HBP. I first got War Master and found it slightly boring. Then I gave BT another chance and got Those Once Loyal, ...For Victory and Mercenary and I was converted well and truly.

LifeInABox 11-01-2007 07:45 PM

as i said, the experiment fear demo is death metal and sounds nothing like nevermore. so please stop trying to have some "cool" response every time i post. especially since you've never even heard it.
lmfao, my grandpa and grandma live in Appleton.
Your mom lives in Appleton.

Surprisingly the demo isn't bad. Jeff Loomis is still a turd though.

Herpes is actually nothing to fret over. The chicken pox = Herpes.

FatalEnergy 11-01-2007 09:48 PM

I was just comparing herpes to Nevermore.

Apocalyptic Raids 11-01-2007 10:07 PM
