You, sir, should go jump off a bridge and land on your kneecaps.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra is officially the greatest Christmas band ever. :thumb:
He's got a point though...listen to Dragonforce.

Only 1 album has a complete amount of songs where none stands out, simply because they are perfection (and it isn't Wintersun).

That album is Character, by Dark Tranquillity.

Classicals are a hell of a lot easier to play than a normal acoustic...smaller neck.
Actually, at this point I like Damage Done better. The tracks are more varied.. I find on Character that all the songs are very similar. Both are outstanding, to be sure.

Fixed. :p

Everyone's going to have their own answer to that one.
I know this might seem kind of random and off topic-ish, but since the topic of clean sound is brought up. Is there anyone else here who prefers a classical acoustic guitar over a normal one like a dreadnought? Maybe I am just wierd, but I think the sound it so much better.
They're built for different sounds. I like to play a standard dreadnought, but if I were to play classical. I'd get a classical guitar.

OMG i know there so awesome i love there version of Carol Of The Bells gives me chills man

Shadows 12-22-2005 04:46 PM

They're good when they're playing Christmas music, but when they try to cover old songs it's awful.

yer i tried that n all but nothing happened

in the mean time, face up to the fact that not everyone like dragonforce

at least ignore my post including this one

Shattered_Future 12-22-2005 05:32 PM

No, I prefer my own fantasy world where everyone either likes my views, and is my friend, or doesn't, and is shot on site.

Almost like Russia. :chug:

MRDuCran 12-22-2005 05:54 PM

ok fair enough

Shadows 12-22-2005 05:58 PM

That doesn't sound like the Russia I know.

IheartSP 12-22-2005 07:37 PM

I think Damage Done is slightly better than Character. I enjoy character but I can't really remember how any of the tracks go, while every single track on Damage Done stays in my head for weeks.

Alex 12-22-2005 07:49 PM

does anyone else think that the new guitarist (robert) is better than Laiho... cuz i do?

Shadows 12-22-2005 07:50 PM

You mean Roope?

He's not.

Alex 12-22-2005 07:52 PM

yah he is and if thats his name than im sorry i thiought it was robert.

Shadows 12-22-2005 07:53 PM

Yeah, it's Roope.

Alexi is better though.

IheartSP 12-22-2005 08:25 PM

I'd have to say Roope is better cuase he was in Alexi's league when he was 25, and now he is 40.

Shadows 12-22-2005 08:27 PM

Judging by what I saw live, Roope is slightly sub par to Alexi.

Silenius 12-22-2005 08:42 PM

No Roope is better, he's faster and cleaner. He just doesn't play many leads in CoB cause it's Alexi's band but he's been around since the 80's and is really good.

Forlorn Hope 12-22-2005 09:23 PM
No Roope is better, he's faster and cleaner. He just doesn't play many leads in CoB cause it's Alexi's band but he's been around since the 80's and is really good.
Well, both Roope and Alexi did solos live, and Alexi's was much faster and more technical. Also in the Passage To The Reaper video, both of them solo during the song they play for Demonstration 2, and again, I think Alexi's soloing was much faster. Don't get my wrong, Roope is an awesome player, but from what I've seen, I think Alexi might have one up on him.

Although, Roope might not have been playing at his top skill. Alexi is the main focus of the band, and generally gets most of the credit and glory of being the "super player". Since Roope is a new member, he might not have wanted to take that glory away from Alexi. He also might not feel the need to play extremely fast. Some guitarists tend to be quite modest with their skill, and don't show off.

It is tough to say who is better because you never know how hard or easy it is for them to play what they are playing. Sure, Alexi might be playing faster, but that doesnt mean Roope CAN'T go faster than Alexi.

AA-12 12-22-2005 11:02 PM

Technically speaking, Roope owns Laiho. He was Laiho's guitar idol.

Shadows 12-22-2005 11:04 PM
Technically speaking, Roope owns Laiho. He was Laiho's guitar idol.
That doesn't mean he can't be surpassed by Alexi.

In all of the playing they've done together since Roops joined, nothing Roope has done has been on the same level as Alexi. That may be because CoB is Alexi's band, but even Roope's solo on the last tour was nothing compared to any of Alexi's.

AA-12 12-22-2005 11:05 PM

Oh, I know that. I'm just saying currently.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-22-2005 11:05 PM

I think he has been playing alot longer too.

*teh shifty eyes*

What other fast food places do they have in Ausland?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-22-2005 11:20 PM

The bigger ones. McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, etc There are probably some we don't have though. I've never been to America so I don't know (although I am going there in the next few months :D

Shadows 12-22-2005 11:21 PM

No effing way! We have all of those!

Why are coming to teh US of A? And what parts will you be seeing?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-22-2005 11:23 PM

Well I'm going to a wedding which will be in Boston. We will likely be staying for a couple of weeks after. I don't know anything else.

Shadows 12-22-2005 11:24 PM

Boston eh? I'm sorry to hear that. New England winters are brutal. Plus you might get kicked by some of the hXc kids, so make sure you don't go to any hardcore shows are try to buy anyone a beer.

Someday, I also plan to go to Boston. Do yourself a favor and make a side trip over here in northern Ohio. :)

Apocalyptic Raids 12-22-2005 11:30 PM

I'll try :D

I've never had an brutal winter. Our winters are probably warm compared to yours.

Shadows 12-22-2005 11:32 PM

Probably. It's been pretty merciless over here. It's been about 15 degrees (F) every day and everything is covered in ice right now. It's awful.

I'm assuming you have something more along the lines of a Florida winter.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-22-2005 11:34 PM

I'll put it this way.

It doesn't snow here. The coldest it gets is about 14 degrees above freezing temp.

Shadows 12-22-2005 11:34 PM

Wow. That's a definite Florida winter.

Have you ever seen snow?
