Ben, I just bowled a perfect game*.

*I'm really stoned.

Akira 11-05-2006 12:32 AM

So my friend and I just played the original Doom from start to finsih on his Xbox.

Spaceman Spiff 11-05-2006 12:45 AM

That's an awesome game. I did that about a year ago. I never got around to Doom 2, though.

Akira 11-05-2006 12:50 AM

It's great. It was so short by today's standards though.

Pluperfect_Arson 11-05-2006 12:55 AM

So, as some of you know, Hollister called me earlier saying that they want to hire me, and this was around 2ish.

Abercrombie and Fitch called me now saying that they want to employ me as well.

Go into Hollister, put on some Sawtooth Grin, and throw down behind the cash register. Then, when anyone comes up to you to buy stuff, start screaming along to it.

Akira 11-05-2006 12:58 AM

GTFO prep.

Which pays better?

sr800bkBassist 11-05-2006 01:00 AM

so today i was walking around downtown by myself, and as i'm walking i see this old homeless indian guy yelling at a trashcan. as i pass him he says something to me and i couldn't hear so i say "pardon me?"
he says "i'm just telling you to watch out for that fuckin' transvestite behind you."
there was no transvestite behind me but i said "oh, yeah man."
end of story.

Pluperfect_Arson 11-05-2006 01:01 AM

It's not about the pay; it's about the experience. :p

And, jcs, I would be working out overnight impact at Hollister, so I could play whatever music I wanted throughout the store since it would be only coworkers and me working.

At Abercrombie, I would be a model.

don't do abercrombie. they discriminate against overweight people when they hire, and i think they use sweatshops if i remember correctly.

Give me an S! Give me a T! Give me an R! Give me an I! Give me an N! Give me a G! Give me an S!

What does that spell?

Lawl.

Akira 11-05-2006 01:04 AM

Loads of stores use sweatshops.
It's just kind of a sad fact of life.

It is a good thing I am underweight and have a rather nice physique! :p

I don't care if they use sweatshops. pfft.

They are actually sitting, packaged, next to me. Mail doesn't happen on Sundays, so I have to ship it Monday.

I suck at sending things.

I'm pretty sure they were sitting, packaged, next to you on Monday or Tuesday. :p

It's okay. It's not really urgent, I'm just having fun. :D

To tell you the truth, I, actually, feel bad for not having sent them, yet. :upset:

I didn't put them into the package until Friday, though, and then I had to go to job interviews, so I couldn't finish sending it.

Spaceman Spiff 11-05-2006 01:18 AM

You shouldn't feel bad. I'm not even planning to put them on right away, it's just so that I have a spare set around for when I decide to change them. But I am curious how a new set of strings will sound. I can't exactly remember how they were new, but I feel like I liked them. :p

I'll probably switch them soon enough and keep my old set around, because they still sound fine.

Pluperfect_Arson 11-05-2006 01:21 AM

Yeah, I always keep my old set around in case a string from my new set breaks, which never seems to happen.

/knocks on wood

I shall be sending them Monday, though, and I still have to write you a quick letter. :p I don't know how long it takes to ship up there, though.

sr800bkBassist 11-05-2006 01:23 AM

wait so how did this string-sending thing come to be? did Spaceman buy them off Pluper? i don't get it :(.

Spaceman Spiff 11-05-2006 01:23 AM

I think I'm going to keep the letter in my bass' case. :D
wait so how did this string-sending thing come to be? did Spaceman buy them off Pluper? i don't get it :(.
It was over in the thread about a kid who bought an Ibanez SR506, and I had bought the same bass a couple weeks before. I talked about how I disliked the standard Elixirs, immediately replaced them, etc.

Then it started out with us joking about it (?), and the discussion moved into the Casual, I think. From there, it turned into something serious, and, now, I am sending him some gently used Elixirs for free. :p

Pluperfect_Arson 11-05-2006 01:25 AM
I think I'm going to keep the letter in my bass' case. :D
Excellent! :p

I will try and write big enough, so that you can be able to read it. I block pringt, though, and I have incredibly neat handwriting. :)

Spaceman Spiff 11-05-2006 01:26 AM

It kind of started as a joke, but then I figured, what the hell, a pretty much brand new set of Elixirs for free. :thumb:

By the way, you said you used them for a couple days or something, there's no peeling happening on any of them, is there?

Pluperfect_Arson 11-05-2006 01:30 AM

Peeling? No.

I prefer printing... probably because I'm no good at writing cursive. :upset:
I can read it just fine (unless it's one of those people that handwrites really messy), but I never really practiced it and got good at it.

I know the whole alphabet, I can write it, but it's just very sloppy and ugly.

Spaceman Spiff 11-05-2006 01:32 AM
Peeling? No.
Okay.

By peeling I mean that the coating eventually starts to peel off the strings after they get played enough. I can't remember how long it was before there was any peeling.

What? This makes me think that you speak some incredibly foreign language that has absolutely no relation to English whatsoever.

I can write in cursive, but I hate it with a passion. I block print nice and small like architects and whatnot do.
