I thought that it would be taken by a Viking metal band. (Going to their site)

ThrashMaster27 01-30-2005 04:12 AM

Thought it'd be fitting to have my 1,000 post on the lovely creation that is this thread. Plus about a third of my posts have been here anyway, so it makes even more sense.

Now, what can I bring up? No, I ain't got nothing....carry on.

DimebagDarrell 01-30-2005 05:04 AM

Protector are great check out Mortuary Nightmare by them add Morbid Saint as well there very underrated

metal-militia 01-30-2005 05:09 AM

I didn't mention bands that have beened mentioned here before (Morbid Saint, Exumer, Onslaught etc) otherwise the list would be too long.

Just found this on a Sadus fansite

It is now official that a SADUS dvd is in the works, to come along with the new album, which will feature massive artwork and extra goodies. The band is scheduled to play some festival in Seattle and in Minneapolis - more on that soon. Hopefully everything will happen in the first half of 2005 - but knowing them and their biblical times, I expect the new stuff to hit the stores within late summer.

Found the Sadus DTP demo the other day, which i'm going to buy :)

DimebagDarrell 01-30-2005 05:19 AM

i cant find any sadus albums there is 1 on amazon but its at a ridiculous price and ive not heard anything off that album. are there any uk online stores that specialise in thrash/death stuff that anyone knows of?

metal-militia 01-30-2005 06:24 AM

On Amazon i think you can only get Elements of Anger, which isn't as good as the others.

Corporal Compendia 01-30-2005 06:41 AM

Learn to use ebay. You'll have more luck there.
Elements of Anger is their worst... best musicianship, but lacks the aggression and balls of the 3 before it. I still think it's good though.

LordDargon 01-30-2005 07:00 AM

By the way, add Mutilator to that list up there :thumb:

You either make a thread like that yourself, or you go to the death heads thread.

CaptainWaits 01-30-2005 08:19 PM

I picked up Overkill's "Under the Influence" and "From the Underground and Below" today.

So now I'm only lacking "Taking Over" and "I Hear Black"

Corporal Compendia 01-30-2005 08:34 PM

I only ever find myself listening to Feel the Fire, but I do have quite a few Overkill albums. About half of them anyways. Perhaps one day I'll dig them all up and blow the dust off.

So the Minneapolis Metal Fest or whatever the hell it's called is looking good so far this year.
Sodom, Sadus and Summon are confirmed so far. I'd like to go, but I can't afford to go to that and Maryland... and well, there's no way it will match Maryland.

Everything Overkill, no matter from which album, blows me off all the time. Most consistent band.

Corporal Compendia 01-30-2005 08:46 PM

Come oooon! Most consistent? Overkill are not as good as they used to be.

CaptainWaits 01-30-2005 08:58 PM

Yeh your right, they aren't as good as they have been, but they've also never released a bad record. They've been around since 1980 (25 years now), and nothing bad has been produced by them. I can't think of another band that's been that consistent.

ThrashMaster27 01-31-2005 05:08 AM

Who doesn't know Slovenia is in Europe?

I'll check it out tomorrow when I'm allowed to download again. Telstra are cowboys! anyway, enough of my ramblings. I agree that Overkill are the most consistant band in Thrash....if someone can name me another band, please don't hesitate to say.

NP: The Smiths - Panic
Who doesn't know Slovenia is in Europe?
Slovenia, Slovakia  :naughty:

I always used to confuse the two.

Oh god, spam!

er...

NP: Death Angel - The Ultra Violence

Fallen Zero 01-31-2005 07:59 AM

I was wondering, what are the best Celtic Frost Albums. Because from the stuff i've heard, I don't really like them too much. I mean, their rhythms seem to be very generic, and their solos seem to be complete wank. They seem to be pure "1-3-1-3-1-3-1-3" fingerings.

But for some reason, I'm thinking that I just haven't given them a fair listen.

LordDargon 01-31-2005 08:01 AM

Morbid Tales perhaps?

RCA 01-31-2005 08:16 AM

Sodom is pretty consistent as well :thumb:

Add Nailgunner to that list of thrash bands. They only have a demo or two out, but they slay. Also add Jumulation (Pedro Anthares Group) to the list.

NP: Sacrifice - Soldiers of Misfortune

I had a tough time getting into Frost at first too, but now I like them a lot. Go with Morbid Tales or To Mega Therion.

Did anyone ever notice that the lyrics to Dark Angel's "A Subtle Induction" seem to be about the Disney movie Bambi? Look it up and tell me what you think.

I checked out those lyrics, but I'm gonna have to reveal that I have never seen Bambi, when all the other kids were watching stuff like that I'd be watching stuff like Predator and Terminator
Anyways, those lyrics looked pretty good, I got the idea it was more about how fairy tales etc. inject false images into kids minds and how it kinda softens them up, but towards the end it sounded like it was totally about Bambi, going on what I heard about that film, hunters shoot Bambi or the mother, not sure  Both I hope :naughty:

NP: Exodus - Deliver US To Evil

SLATANIC-666 01-31-2005 11:43 AM

Oh, I got Annihilator - Alice in Hell+ Never, Neverland today, haven't listened to it yet but, I'll talk more about it when I've listened to it :thumb:

EDIT: Hey Dargon, is it really true that ''work makes you free'' :naughty: :thumb: No, Auschwitz is a really interesting place IMO, you can make so many great songs out of just that one location, ok, well maybe just Angel Of Death.
