chromatics - kill for love
seriously the best album of '12 guys
this was nice to just lose yourself in. album is really long though, a couple of tracks in the middle almost ruined the experience. like they nearly made me forget i was enjoying the first half hour or so. picked up again towards the end though. |
i saw Cursive last week it was killer. Tim Kasher has so much fun on stage

Yeah I listened to the new album when it was streaming and wasn't sure what to think. Might go see them live next month though. |

what xiu xiu do you recommend, i only have fabulous muscles
port out, starboard home (posh isolation comp, the most focused release theyve ever had. flows as if one artist were behind it all) young magic - melt (great psych ambience with really interesting beats and dreamy shoegazey guitar textures and vocals) john flannelly - FABLES (cool analog synth manipulation) german army - body linguist (minimalistic synth based industrial) the constants - no organ (rock'n'roll with balls out. "darkness of the night" is one of the most simultaneously badass and catchy songs ever) |
sonny sharrock - ask the ages

Re: What I've Still Been Diggin Lately
Hey, everybody - this is my first post here at sputnik. Looking forward to having some good discussions with fellow music aficionados.
A few tunes I've been digging lately: Alabama Shakes - Hold On (awesome up-and-coming blues-rock band from Dixie) Good Old War - Calling Me Names (twangy, wistful, alt-country tune) Grouplove - Tongue Tied (ridiculously catchy) Feist - The Bad in Each Other Will Dailey - Counting On Karma (sunny pop-rock gem from a local band) |
i've only listened to fabulous muscles before this past week as well. i'm actually thinking it's my least fav overall. i listened to most of his albums in reverse order from his newest, and then in chronological order over the past week. his latest stuff is definitely a bit more poppy and accessible, while his earlier music seemed less coherent and more 'experimental'. they are all cathartic listens to me, probably why i've been enjoying them.
i think you may like his earlier stuff more, so get 'knife play' or 'a promise'. or both. and if you want to try the newer stuff, try 'always'. |
the jesus lizard - liar
neu! - neu! 75 biosphere - substrata best jesus lizard album in my opinion, surpasses even goat. neu are, of course, amazing and the biosphere album's pretty neat i need more of this kinda music. |
