Berklee is really cool, I checked out the campus last week. The class sizes are really small, and the counselor I talked to seemed very nice and helpful. The campus is smack dab in the middle of Boston. I only have good things to say about it.

PaulSimonon 04-10-2005 10:02 AM

Oh, and you'll have no problem getting into it with your background, LeftShoe. They went through a lot of the stuff on the application during the "information meeting".

Left Shoe 04-10-2005 10:03 AM

what kinda background do i have? O_O

PaulSimonon 04-10-2005 10:06 AM

You play clarinet right? And you've had teachers for both clarinet and bass, and a pretty strong knowledge of theory, correct?

Left Shoe 04-10-2005 10:08 AM

yeah =D
im unsure on my theory considering it was all taught to me by an incompetent drummer. so i talked to a college around here and they worked it out with my high school to let me take ttheory at the college and get highschool and college credit for it.

PaulSimonon 04-10-2005 10:10 AM

Yeah, as long as you get good recommendations, you'll be in. Have you thought about Indiana University? It's one of the best music colleges in the country. Especially good for me, since it's less than an hour and a half away from my house...

boston is the freaking hardcore music capitol of the world (i <3 hardcore)

id look into iu, but alot of people fomr my school i dont enjoy are thinking of going there (like they are going to get in) tell me some things about iu to interestt me

PaulSimonon 04-10-2005 10:18 AM

Well, I don't know too much about IU's music program at the moment. :upset:

They've got some good food down there though, and the campus is relatively nice, I've been down there quite a few times.

PaulSimonon 04-10-2005 10:22 AM

Don't quote me on that.

EDIT: Linkage to courses... http://www.indiana.edu/~bulletin/iub/music/courses.html

Radiobass81 04-10-2005 10:32 AM
Awesome. When will you be getting it? Have you got the money yet, or are you still saving?
I've got most of the money, but I've got a few things I've got to deal with first. Definitely before Basslines (June), tho.

Paul: It was sold, and I am curious as to know if it was e_p who bought it, as he mentioned it the same week (and the page is updated weekly, so...). Whoever it is, is a lucky guy/gal.

jaco jr 04-10-2005 10:33 AM
Blues Brothers and This is Spinal Tap.
Beautiful Girls
Rejected
Akira
Zoolander

Weird tastes, I know.

Pretty decent, waiting for food and looking at heads right now.

>_>
<_<
I don't know my favourite movies...

PaulSimonon 04-10-2005 11:41 AM

How's it going Tryxx?

Tryxx 04-10-2005 11:44 AM

Sup Paul? Good, good. In case you didn't know, I got my acceptance letter the other day, so all is well. I think I'm going to expect my bass in maybe a week or so, but I can't be too sure.

I've decided I want a Mesa head, but have no clue if I get one, do I need a Mesa cab to compliment the sound?

How's the ninja-ing been going?

kilian 04-10-2005 11:46 AM

Not really tryxx, I think that mesa has made their cabs in a certain way to match the head. But with another (good) cab, you will also be able to have a nice sound :)

Left Shoe 04-10-2005 11:46 AM

im back kids
i spilled water on my warwick and almost died, but it still works

PaulSimonon 04-10-2005 11:47 AM

I did some ninja-moves at the Berklee campus!

Congrats on the acceptance!

Left Shoe 04-10-2005 11:49 AM

so who all is going as of right now in this thread

Tryxx 04-10-2005 11:50 AM
Not really tryxx, I think that mesa has made their cabs in a certain way to match the head. But with another (good) cab, you will also be able to have a nice sound :)
Awesome, thanks alot. Luckilly I have a mother who's willing to support my musical life, and hopes it becomes a career; essentially she's not afraid to invest in it when she can.

Now just time to narrow down cabs!

Oh-*Hands Left Shoe a paper towel*
