are you talking to me, oh well if you are......
Its in black and is left handed (of course) and i got it for 390 pounds as the shop will be getting loads of publicity as it is gonna be on on prime time tv. I also got other stuff due to the discount offer including: a hard case, rotosound strings, a strap and a boss br-1180
Photos? And what does this Boss Br-1180 do? |
Rollo: Indeed. Most of their songs are simply amazing. They came here last year for the Heineken jazz fest and... I MISSED THEM :upset:.
Why I want a Steinberger: I love headless basses (I've always had), and I love the clang. I've alwas liked Kubicki clangs, but they are a tad exagerrated, and too overpriced, where as Steinberger basses are mainly perfect in everything.
Suggest me an album to get? I have none of their albums, but would like one/some. |
It is just a shame that the original Steinberger company don't make them anymore. All you can get these days are licenced copies.
Harmony Central can be RAELLY good for reviews, or sometimes, it can just suck.
I actually hate HC, as most reviews come from fanatics of the bass (so it will have amazing reviews) or unexperienced players, such as the guys who rated the SX :upset:. Now, Talkbass...
about 2 years ago i picked up the five sting version- the xt25. for what it is i really couldn't be happier. i bought it mainly as a travel bass, something keep handy if inspiration ever strikes, and at times the perfect small backup. i bought mine from musicyo, and although the finish is perfect, i noticed that the factory didn't put in one of the screws on one of the pickup rings; nothing major but enough to slightly dietract from an otherwise great set-up. the rest of the set-up from the factory was actually pretty good, nice and low with no buzz. the strings didn't have a feel i liked and i replaced them with a set from ken smith, and it made a huge imporovement in both feel and sound. the neck reminds me of a spector, although i think the string spacing is just a touch tighter; but this is only from memory and i could be wrong. i don't like vol/vol/tone setup's, and one day may re-wire it, but overall the tone is one i really like. i am very impressed with the bridge pickup, i usually play primarily with the neck solo'd or just a touch or bridge, but that back pickup just sounds alot fuller than most other passive basses i've played. i also really don't care for emg's but i find these do the job really well. the only real downside to the electronics is the amount of volume it actually controls, only about the upper 15% seems to control the pickup, after that any change is not noticeable. the gigbag isn't the thickest, but does its job and is free, so i guess i can't complian. other than geddy i know jeordie white is playing one with perfect circle; it is definetely a capable bass, especially one in the $300 price range.
This seems a lot fairer and better. |

Yea that's true Radio, everytime I read a review, I noticed a lot of 9's and 10's. And I was wondering, whya ll these basses were rated so high.

The Deep End. It's the only one I have, but, from the ones I've head, I've liked this one the best. Katana: It's still the same staff, mainly. When Gibson bought them, most of the staff stayed, even when the management moved. |

I've finished my drawing for work. I cant play on my bass, as its in for repair. ........some help and shoot me now....,... rant over./ :thumb: |
Equipment? Crapp Monterey jazz copy. Crappy Ross 60w combo, Hartke VX115 cab, and soon, hopefully I'll have a Behringer BX3000T to go with my cab. And then a bit after that, with my birthday money, I get an Ibanez SR505.

Hohner, which sound completely different, and Kubickis, which are exagerrated Steinbergers (IMO), but they are really completely different instruments, besides them not having heads. |
Alright, after seein that second thread on TB, I've decided I'm going to get one.
|
Awesome. When will you be getting it? Have you got the money yet, or are you still saving?
|
So I was just browsing TB, and then I go to the Trace Elliot thread, and what pops up? A big picture of Madthumb.

cool man i have heard some really good reviews on them congrats |
Hey guys.
What happened to the Jazz dealio, Radio? There's a Stieny at my GC, and if you want, I'll mess around on it for you. |
Yea, it's a real nice bass, but I'm still yet to try one. Might go within the next few days to try one. :thumb: The only hing I'm worried about it the string spacing. I've heard it's got very small string spacing, and that would suck, cause it would make it harder for me to slap on it.
|
hey paul
|
|
Ooo! My name is also Paul! Who could he be talking to?
:upset: |

I have just realized that all of the tones I like are in my T-40, and I really don't need another 4 :chug:

I'm doing a course at the moment in Sydney, Contemporary Music Performance majoring in bass.
Afterwards I'm taking a break for stuff, then if all goes well, I will go back when I am about 21 or whatever and do a full 4 year degree in music. |
