I think he meant Overture 1928.
My favorite is live Ytse Jam with 5 minute drum solo interlude. :D
Agreed lol |
1) Instrumedly (if it counts)
2) SoC 3) Overture 1928 4) Erotomania |
Anywhere where I can hear Dream theatre?
|
I can send you a sampler if you want.
|
Hell's Kitchen or Erotomania are my fav instrumentals.

This is a cool video for those of you who haven't already seen it. It's Yellow Matter Custard, a Beatles cover-band consisting of Mike Portnoy, Paul Gilbert, Matt Bissonette and Neal Morse playing "While my Guitar gently weeps".
I actually saw that a while ago in school of all places (I think I told the story about how my music teacher brought in this drum festival '04 DVD, and it had Mike Portnoy on it.) It had footage of Yellow Custard playing While My Guitar Gently Weeps and I Am the Walrus, plus Dream Theater playing Dance of Eternity, which, needless to say, owned. |

Their website has almost every setlist they've played on their recent tour, if you want to check that out. |
^ yea i got it from their website. certain songs they seem to play again and again on almost every gig on this tour like UAGM and 8vm. where there's room for choices, i listed every possible combination out like "spirit carries on and LTL" or "metropolis 1 and PMU."

Imagine yourself at a Dream Theater concert. They just got through playing the encore of PMU or Metropolis or whatever they play for encore. The lights dim and go to black and the stage is shrouded in darkness. Everyone accepts with resignation that this magical experience is over and some start filtering out while some stay around and chat excitedly about how awesome the concert was.
Suddenly, stray yet melodic piano chords and keys start playing. This keeps up for about 30 seconds while everyone looks around in wonder and stares at the stage wondering what is going on. Then, the opening piano riff from Space-Dye Vest starts playing as a single spotlight illuminates Kevin Moore on a keyboard. The Dream Theater vets that know the significance of this go fucking nuts. Slowly, individual spotlights shine through the darkness as each members comes in: Portnoy on drums, then LaBrie singing, and sporadically Petrucci and Myung in their random parts of the song. These are the things I think about while in the shower. Sigh.... |

Imagine if it happened though. So many people would be so pissed, because it'd probably only be a one time thing.
|
I reckon it'd be on DVD if it happened.
|
Unless the awesomeness of Kevin Moore exploded all the cameras.
|
:( If only that would happen.
It would be awesome Ghettoeddo-Should have got it. I'll check in a minute. Yep, got it. Many thanks |
Heres a little DT story that was pretty funny...
Over the summer of 2005, when DT was on Gigantour. It was their Cleveland show, at Tower City Music hall. As most of you probably know that went to Gigantour, we had to sit through a few terrible bands, like that Dillinger Escape Plan and Bobaflex? Whoever they were, Symphony X, Fear Factory, Nevermore... everything was good for them, and then the long awaited Dream Theater came on. James hasn't even began to sing yet, he's just screaming, you know.. trying to get the crowd pumped. And then he rips this huge hole in the *** of his pants. Turns around and bends over to show the crow his ***. Everyone cheered of course, so they went on and played the song.. him showing his *** every now and again... I really should have gotten out my camera phone. I'm sorry that I didn't now :( That was just a funny story... how many of you have seen James' ***? haha |

Just as progressive as DT, if not more, and almost as virtuosic. But that is a funny story. |
I'm sorry, I'm not sure that KNKX means... lol.
