WHERE THE FUCK IS MY AVATAR!?
Gav stole them all back.

DaveSavesTheDay 10-17-2006 09:05 PM

Thats weak.. I earned mine.

BenJammin 10-17-2006 09:07 PM
I play the same. I am always up high playing chords or tapping or doing other things that I have no business doing as a bassist.
Bassist, schmassist. It's about the music, baby.

One Groovin Clown 10-17-2006 09:08 PM

I remember seeing a thread where some kids were bashing gav because one of them didnt get a big avatar. So he decided to take them all away because he didn't want to deal with all the whines.

Who was that? I can't think of anyone in here who would do that.

And Ben, I agree. I don't really consider myself a bassist, it just so happens I feel most comfortable playing the bass guitar.

I think i saw it in the punk forum, or the emo forum.
Wich is odd because i don't know why i would be there in the first place...

Exactly. I suck at playing guitar, but I like to do all the things guitar does, with the added bonus of nad-rattling low notes. Ultimately, if I can fit my hand around it, I'd like a 10 string, strung up F#-B-E-A-D-G-C-F-Bb-Eb and I would be happy beyond all compare. But I think the neck would be too wide for me.

I have long fingers, maybe I could pull it. Ultimately I want a Stick. I have been tapping more and more lately. It's a really expressive way to play.

thelowsoundofbass 10-17-2006 09:14 PM

So I just watched jackass2 and I almost puked about 5 times. Funniest movie EVER.

I love Stick and I love the sound of tapping, but I suck way too much at it . It's the same dealy as with guitar. Thank god I don't fail at looping too.

The only movie I've watched that really made me feel sick was Hostel. Which is, by the way, the single worst movie ever made.

I am not particularly good at tapping, but I don't feel I suck that much less than I do on any technique.
I need to find somewhere to actually play a Stick, that's the hard part.

You know what the sad part is?

Who directed the movie.

I'll give you a hint.

That looks intentionally horrible for the sake of being funny.
Hostel had not a single redeeming quality. It was like 50 minutes of lame softcore porn and 30 minutes of violence. No plot. At all.

Nothing more than that. :p

Peter Jackson :p

Me and some buddies have always had ideas to make movie out of.
They're the corniest ideas.
But they're pure genious.

The gore was mediocre. Only a couple of scenes. If I want a movie with boobs I will watch an American Pie style movie, at least those aren't nauseous.

The clip you watched was from Bad Taste, a movie directed by Peter Jackson, and as far as I can tell, it was made with relative seriousness.

It failed utterly, however.

There is no way that could possibly be serious. Even the name makes it sound intentionally funny.

Regardless of whether it was meant to be serious or not...

Why the hell did they let PJ direct LotR? He made a bunch of other movies like Bad Taste, too.

Pfft! Being nauseated is the way to go.

The only part of that film that bothered me in the slightest was when that doctor cut the American's achilles tendons open. I have a huge fear of that. :upset:

Know what else was a really bad movie? Miami Vice.

I think I was most bothered by the kids putting a dent in the bad guy's head.

Because he did an amazing job with it. He wrote something big on LOTR when he was in university or collage, can't remember what. He was already well known in the LOTR community.

Yeah, that part didn't bother me a single bit.

The funny thing is that that kind of stuff isn't uncommon over on that side of the world. I don't know, personally, but from what I have read about countries and whatnot. There are gangs of kids that just mug people. :amaze:

Maybe he was well known, but I still would have questioned his directing ability.
