Really? I liked the song and liked Dan's voice mostly.

Sorry About That was also an awesome acoustic in my opinion although it doesn't top Blue In The Face.

I love Matt Skiba's solo stuff too off that Kevin seconds split cd. Awesomeness, has he released any more?

CrimbleVan 08-10-2005 08:19 AM
I saw them twice this year. Once at Bamboozle and then on their Crimson tour. they were great both times
Dahm right those shows were awesome - had me a kick *** time at those two shows

shangbang 08-10-2005 08:59 AM
Can you remember what songs they played?
Not the order, but just the songs if you can remember.
This is most of them. The first 7 are in order. Then i just put the songs in the order i remebered them

Time to Waste
Poison
Mercy Me
Maybe I'll Catch Fire
Warbrain
Clavicle
Crawl
Emma
Nose Over Tail which led into a full band version of Blue in the Face
My Little Needle
Mr.Chainsaw
I was a Prayer
Sadie
Back to Hell
Take Lots With Alcohol
Stupid Kid
Every Thug Needs a Lady
Burn

For the encore they played three songs. I forget the first one but the second was Radio and the third was This Could be Love

Few things you should know about me.....

I love Dan more than anyone on this planet, save for Sunshine, but she's a woman so she can accomplish things I probably couldn't. I would go gay for dan in a half of a heart beat. I've argued with many a girl about how I love him more than they did, and many guys too. I. Have. Always. Won. I am part of the blood pact and I went to my first real venue July 2nd. Theirs. Through the meet and greet, we ( me and maybe 5 other blood pact members) got to sit in on their sound check. The first song they played for us in whole without us walking in was " Smoke". Soul Shaking does not begin to describe it. I got to TOUCH Dan. I talked to him. I told him he was my hero. This is the man who I've asked to marry on the older official board. Dan shall forever hold my soul.

Now that we're past that, someone earlier in this thread ( page 8 I believe) said FHTI is perfection. Someone Get this person a medal. I saw a lot of people say that actually, and I must admit, I'm glad to hear it. Crawl is my soul song.

That was maybe me, From Here to Infirmary is one of the best albums I've ever heard

Angry Balled Fists! 08-10-2005 11:35 AM

Yeah, thanks a lot.

Is it good ?

shangbang 08-10-2005 11:41 AM

Yea. Not as good as some of their other cds but I still like it a lot. It has a lot of good songs like Goodbye Forever, I Lied my Face off, My Friend Peter and 97.

guns_of_brixton 08-10-2005 12:16 PM

I bet I've already said it in this thread but I <3 AK3.

That was an amazing set. I can't wait until I see them.
I am really hoping that they song before Radio was 97, that would definately make my night complete.

Yea the show was great. The song wasn't 97 but they've been playing that on the tour so theres a chance that they'll play it when you see them. I think it might've been Hell Yes

I just found out about Alk3 supporting My Chemical Romance in America.
That is just plain fucking stupid.

Alk3 SUPPORTING, MCR, that is just to aggravating for words, MCR doesn't even deseve to open for the opening band of Alk3, MCR is so overated. It isn't even funny. Their first album wasn't bad, but the new one got killed by the media, and it just stinks anyway. Anyway Alk3 opening for any bad is preposterous. What were they THINKING!

LoserFriendly 08-10-2005 10:39 PM

This was announced ages ago wasn't it?

Of course Alk3 are better than MCR, except ticket promoters dont care about that, MCR are way more mainstream and popular commercially.

Over here in the UK, MCR tickets SOLD OUT 3 days after going on the net.
Alkaline Trio been up for at least a few weeks and none are sold out as far as I know.

OMGZ!1 I hope they play Nose Over Tail, I love that song.

The Trio Supporting MCR? In the words of Ed from Shaun of the Dead-

GAY

chumpradio 08-11-2005 04:34 AM

The trio shouldn't have agreed to do that tour. They have been going since 97 (I think), and have 6 amazing full length albums under their belt, whilst MCR have 2 inconsistent albums.
The trio deserve so much more than a supporting slot at a MCR tour.

Angry Balled Fists! 08-11-2005 04:38 AM

Their self-titled in definetley ther worst album...

And i wonder who's gonna support them in their uk tour in November :D

chumpradio 08-11-2005 04:40 AM

The self titled is great.
It's got lots of classics; 97, Goodbye Forever, I Lied My Face Off, Bleeder, Nose Over Tail, My Friend Peter, For Your Lungs Only, and more. In fact, pretty much all of them are amazing songs.

Angry Balled Fists! 08-11-2005 04:42 AM

Nah, i like Cooking Wine most though.

And a few of them are from Goddamit, and their versions on Goddamit are better.

And i hate the quality...

I like Dan's voice in 'I lied my face off'

Firecracker 08-11-2005 06:56 AM

Self-titled is my new favourite. 97 is such a good song, and FYLO is just weird, but so amazing aswell, and same with Sundials, they're the songs you need to listen to a lot to get into, but when you do, they'll be your favourites.

I haven't been in here for quite awhile. I just got Alkaline Trio's new Cd, Crimson, about a week ago and I was wondering how many people liked it. I thought it was really good, different from their other Cd's which makes it better.

Angry Balled Fists! 08-11-2005 01:34 PM

It's one of their worst.

A lot of the songs sound the same, too many violins and stuff.

A few songs spare it from being terrible.

Pazz 08-11-2005 01:49 PM

What are you talking about.

'Prevent This Tragedy' is easily one of my favourites on the cd, it's very hard to use orchestral stringed instruments in music other than classical, and they pulled it off superbly.

chumpradio 08-11-2005 04:40 PM

So, Mike Park is supporting the Trio on their UK tour apparently.
He is a solo acoustic artist, and the owner of Asian Man records, which the trio have released records for.
I am seeing if he has a purevolume now, his Myspace has no music on it.

chumpradio 08-11-2005 04:40 PM

He is the support artist.

thanks for the info.

And it's a fact, Crimson is their worst album to date.

Edit: I don't like the stuff on purevolume, i hope he's not supporting them, why not a decent band off Vagrant like Get-up kids? Or have they split now :(

Edit2: Chumpradio, what was the source?

chumpradio 08-12-2005 06:34 AM

Punktastic.
It's under a headline about Mike Park cancelling his UK tour, and he will now be supporting the trio in November.
And I doubt punktastic would report a rumour.

Mute Print 08-12-2005 08:06 PM

I have all of Alkaline Trio's albums aside from Goddamnit, but I'm having a bit of trouble getting into them. Can you guys give me some of your favorite Alk3 tracks that might help me get into them? I'm basically looking for someone to give me a few catchy/powerful songs that will help me get hooked on this band. Thanks a lot.

guns_of_brixton 08-12-2005 11:23 PM

San Fransisco.
