i'd call them thrash/pv too, although their lyrics are more 'crust' than most pv bands.

RetiredAt21 09-29-2005 02:52 PM

Unholy Grave rules. Haven't heard any Noothgrush, any links to their songs?

Feel The Darkness 09-29-2005 08:08 PM

I still think they border with both crust and pv, although I just tend to call 'em crust. Either way, I'm sure we all agree that they rule. :thumb:

haha, yea, she's hot, although I like Jen better. I'm not sure why, I just think she's prettier. haha, anyways, back to the crust.

EDIT: Everyone here should check out my friend's band:

No Crass? No Rudimentary Peni? No Flux Of Pink Indians?
...means no crust. But yea, these guys are amazing crust bands, lyrically

They are anarcho bands. Not crust.

RIvegan 09-30-2005 09:27 PM

Converge_Cult 09-30-2005 11:22 PM

ahaha saudi arabia..i actually liked them though..hopefully they will drop by my neck of the woods..but about crust and grind..i need more motivation to listen to the genre

RetiredAt21 10-01-2005 10:39 AM

Creative Waste are pretty good. I was expecting total crap, but I was pleasently surprised.

What would motivate you to listen to more crust and/or grind Converge_Cult?

Pale-Folklore 10-01-2005 11:17 AM

Discordance Axis and 324 are awesome

Scabies 10-01-2005 01:57 PM

picked up totalitar and disprezzo cds today.

Feel The Darkness 10-01-2005 03:07 PM

Totalitar rules, I have their split 7" with Dropdead. Really awesome band.

RetiredAt21 10-01-2005 07:02 PM

I think I heard a Totalitar song once, but I can't remember much about it.

Feel The Darkness 10-02-2005 12:57 AM

Did anyone else notice that they actually updated the GPG Archive?

RetiredAt21 10-02-2005 12:29 PM

I had no idea they updated it. What's new there?

Grunge_Zombie 10-02-2005 12:50 PM

What does crust music sound like?

RetiredAt21 10-02-2005 01:05 PM

Listen to Cripple Bastards or Cluster Bomb Unit.

Grunge_Zombie 10-02-2005 01:07 PM

okay dokey

Feel The Darkness 10-02-2005 04:18 PM
I had no idea they updated it. What's new there?
http://www.geocities.com/greenplasticgrass

They changed the layout a bit, and a section where it has links for complete albums from some bands. Some of the bands on the full albums section are Cripple Bastards and Scholastic Deth.
Listen to Cripple Bastards or Cluster Bomb Unit.
Cripple Bastards wouldn't be the best example as they have a high grind influence in their shit. I'd say the best examples of crust, and some of the more influential bands, would be Doom, Misery, and Axegrinder.

RetiredAt21 10-02-2005 05:59 PM

I'm gonna download the Cripple Bastards and Scholastic Deth albums. Hella sweet.

Gnarmageddon 10-02-2005 06:02 PM

Cripple Bastards are ace.

Magicaltroll 10-02-2005 06:39 PM
Vincent Price's Orphan Powered Death Machine
I love this band already.

I like Napalm Death, Rotten Sound, Pig Destroyer (obssessed is a beyter word to describe my feelings towards them), Birdflesh, Carcass, and Pigsty.

I'm looking for more Grind bands to check out though.

Gnarmageddon 10-02-2005 06:51 PM

Would someone care to send me song Birdflesh, VPOPDM, or Carcass over AIM? Or Soulseek?

RetiredAt21 10-02-2005 07:55 PM

I'm gonna rip the xVPOPDMx album onto my computer, after I do that, I'll try and send it to you, but my internet sucks balls.

Scabies 10-03-2005 01:37 PM

That Cripple Basards demo is pretty brutal. Everyone check out Flyblown if you ain't already.

http://www.myspace.com/flyblown

and anyone noticed how sucky the UK crust scene seems to be? 80% of the bands that play in London seem to be foriegn.

asthesunsets 10-03-2005 06:19 PM

ummm... about xvpopdmx... ummm yeah they were a great band in their time, and they are still a great band. too sad they are no longer with us. i am from lancaster county PA where they originally started but wasnt lucky enough to have seen them live. i have them there s/t 7 inch ripped onto CD and ill rip it onto my computer and send it to who ever wants it.

SubtleDagger 10-03-2005 08:42 PM

FASSW is more like really generic deathcore to me.

heyimsheep1 10-03-2005 10:42 PM

Daughters, CURLUPANDDIE, Napalm Death, Discharge, Charles Bronson, Wolfbrigade

RIvegan 10-04-2005 07:07 AM

Daughters, discharge, charles bronson and wolfpack are not grind

RIvegan 10-04-2005 07:07 AM

i meant wolfbrigade but its practically the same thing

Scabies 10-04-2005 01:02 PM

so has this thread just turned into people naming grind/crust bands they like?

whiteminority 10-05-2005 11:26 AM

instead of everyone naming the grind/crust bands they like how about we have some worthwhile grind/crust discussion.

what is everyones favorite grind/crust record label? (this is not worthwhile discussion i know.) my favorites would have to be relapse and earache.

MILF Hunter 10-05-2005 03:47 PM

Profane Existence put out some quality crust stuff..Dont know too much about grind though

RetiredAt21 10-06-2005 06:05 PM

Earache is my favorite I guess.

This is a really dumb question, but do you guys prefer grind bands that down tune, or grind bands that use the normal tuning? I myelf prefer grind bands that don't down tune, it forces them to be a little more creative, rather than bands that down tune usually just thrash on open chords trying to sound heavy. But Pig Destroyer and Agoraphobic Nosebleed still rule.

this is true. i like both styles equally.

Scabies 10-10-2005 02:30 PM

I don't think i can really choose a favourite label, since theres so many and loads of them only have a few releases on them. Profane existance and Active distro i do like though.

me rocking the discharge shirt: http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=4267009&imageID=245983392&Mytoken=E94F572C-FCD9-41D3-817EAE8CDF6FD59D2411606890
