Uh, I need some help, this is a sort of fixed recomendation.
I'm going into town tommorow, to buy 2112 by Rush, that's for sure. But I'm not 100% sure what else to get, I was thinking, Hemispheres or Carress Of Steel, both by Rush. Or maybe even a Dream Theater album, I.E which is the best Dream Theater album.
On Dream Theater: Train Of thought is Very Heavy and Shreddy. Scenes From a Memory has heavy moments, mellow moments and lot's of technical moments. IMO it contains all of the classic Dream Theater elements, and is there most rounded album. Falling Into Infinity is overal Mellow. Awake is again a mix of Heavyness and Mellowness. Six Degrees of Inner turbulence has it's heavy moments, and also it's mellow momments. I have most of these over AIM if you want. |
Crystal Mountain and Voice of the Soul are great Death songs. Pretty much all I have by them, but they are my faves.
Symphony X wise, Fallen is easy to get and listen to. They are on my to check out list too, so any recommendations yiou recieve I will probably check out aswell.
Yeah, of Symphony X I've only heard Sea of Lies, great song and its convinced me to check them out further. Thanks for the Death songs, anyone have any more recammendations for me? |
Cheers, thanks to everyone for that.
I've heard good things about Medopalis Pt. 2, are these not ill found? |
Metropolis Pt 2 is part of the name for Scenes from a Memory, and Scenes...is considered by many to be their master piece.
I agree, in part, Scenes has some cringe worthy moments on it. |
Norther
Blackhearted, Betrayed, Of Darkness And Light. Symphony X Into The Dementia, Lesson Before Dying, Through The Looking Glass (part I II III). I'm afraid I don't know much by the other bands, sorry :( |
Cheers, thanks to everyone for that.
I've heard good things about Medopalis Pt. 2, are these not ill found?
Its Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From A Memory Lots of people say its their best, I disagree. Its a great album, but IMO Images and Words, Awake, and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence are better. |
Alright, my list of bands I need recammendations for right now:
Stratovarius Kalmah Norther Symphony X Death
Stratovarius; my immediate reccomendation would be simply "steer clear" (unless you're already hugely into power metal, I suppose). If you're determined though, try Hunting High and Low, Millenium or Infinity. Kalmah; Heroes to Us Burbot's Revenge The Third, The Magical Bird of Ill Omen Heritance of Berija Black Roija Death - earlier; Infernal Death Evil Dead Zombie Ritual Scream Bloody Gore Death - later Flattening of Emotions Crystal Mountain Voice of the Soul Suicide Machine |
What do you have against them? And thanks for the other reccomendations. |

Each to his own. |

I didn't even look at your name, and I'm surprised you cared enough to post about it. Meh. |
i've been listening to bands such as korn, sepultura, rage, and system. what are some of their best albums/songs and what other good bands are along the same lines as them as far as quality and music type?
|
No RATM album will dissappoint you Get them all.
Systems first two albums are the better ones, but Steal This Album! is still worth picking up. I don't know much Korn or Sepultra. |
i've been listening to bands such as korn, sepultura, rage, and system. what are some of their best albums/songs and what other good bands are along the same lines as them as far as quality and music type?
For Sepultura, listen to these albums, and only these albums Schizophernia -From the Past comes the Storms -To the Wall -Escape to the Void -Screams behind the Shadows -The Abyss -R.I.P (Rest in Pain) -Troops of Doom Beneath the Remains -Beneath the Remains -Inner Self -Stronger Than Hate -Mass Hypnosis -Slaves of Pain -Lobotomy Arise -Arise -Dead Embryonic Cells -Desperate Cry -Subtraction -Altered States Also check out their Live album (Under A Pale Grey Sky Live), it won't dissapoint for a Sepultura fan, and that was the album that mainly got me into Sepultura. If you want, try Morbid Visions and Chaos A.D as well, but they're both weaker than the three albums above. |
I think he was saying that he already listens to Korn, Sepultura, SOAD and RATM, and wants further recommendations.

I was replying to that right there |
Ah. Sorry. Have some rep.
|
As far as further recommendations... for Sepultura-like bands, just check my post on this page with all the thrash recommendations. If you like Korn and SOAD, you'll probably like other nu-metal bands. I personally don't, but from what I hear Mudvayne is better than the rest.
