Yeah I should be more psyched for it.... I never gave GHUA enough of a chance, I should go revisit that album, I think I didn't like it at the time because the vocals were too prominent in the mix |
i havent heard any slayer but i ve been meaning to check them out. Can anyone tell me some good songs so i can download some or can someone upload some for me.
|
Post-Mortem, Raining Blood, Angel of Death, War Ensemble, Season in the Abyss. Those should give you a good intro taste.
|
I love slayer and I don't know why some people consider God Hates Us all to be a bad album I didn't think it was that bad I expecially like the song bloodline.
/is wearing his slayer shirt right now. |
I don't know. It wasn't that bad really. I don't really think a Thrash band can tune down so low and get away with it. You can't palm mute the E string for so long on such a low tuning. The album sounds too Slipknot styled for my liking...especially songs like Payback.
|
Tom's vocals were pretty awful too.
|
Odd....
I thought GHUA had his best vocals overall. |
I didn;t like his shouting type of vox on GHUA.
|

Yeah they were irritating, Slayer vocals should never be featured, only in the background |

I'd say that's a bit of a harsh statement. His screams are a trademark of the Slayer sound. |

They are, but something went wrong on GHUA. I hope the new album the vox are more like they were on Divine Intervention, they were mixed in nicely that album |

Slipknot....ugh. I found payback more of a gimmick song. It was quite amusing. I didn't really like the downtuning. :upset: |

Yeah... but he can't scream like he could in 1985. |
I have the strangest Slayer likes of anyone in this thread. My favorite album is GHUA and my favorite Slayer song is Payback.

I've heard Dave Lombardo is playing drums again on the currently being recorded CD... is this true? I love Dave, I think all the albums with him kick ***, and Paul just isn't as good.

I was reading an article in a Jager magazine they were passing out before the concert when I saw them, King mentions the new album and Lombardo.. Let me find it, and posts what he says. EDIT- OK, the dude interviewing KK asks: You guys have been working on your first album featuring the original line-up since Seasons in the Abyss. What is that like? Was the black magic still there? KK: Me and Dave have made a couple demos; because, we assumed we would be recording before any of this touring happened. That's why we booked the rest of the year so solid. We have a demo of ten songs. Hanneman has added two more since then, and I think me and Jeff each have another one. So, we're already fiddling around with thirteen to fourteen songs. Once we got the rug pulled out from under us an knew that we weren't going to record, I myself took a backseat. I said, "Alright, I'll let these lay for awhile, then I'll come back probably on one of my days off and start thinking about lyrics." GOD NO! Not more King lyrics. |

True, to tell you the truth, when I saw them in concert and they played Dittohead, I couldn't understand much what he was saying, it was like he was just saying random things as fast as he could. Oh well, that was one of the best concerts I've been to. |
My fav slayer song is raining in blood
