I like the album, I don't get why you guys don't like it.
Revolver and MMT is great Psychadelic music.

I like it too, but only if I listen to the whole thing. Plus, I kind of think that MMT is more psychadelic.

Same here about the MMT.

I have been wondering has George ever cut his ties with Clapton?

IAJP 12-18-2004 12:05 PM

Favourite Beatles Song-Lovely Rita
Favourite Album-Sgt Peppers lonely hearts club band.

TerryThorne 12-18-2004 12:06 PM

A Day in the Life owns Lovely Rita, IMO.

TerryThorne 12-18-2004 12:09 PM

My favorite is the Reprise plus day in the life

Maybe,
they're completely different songs:
Lovely Rita is a quirky pop song,
and a day in the life is a great rock song,
I couldn't compare,
the only song on the album I don't like is "When I'm 64",
the novel value just doesn't appeal to me at all.

Same here, I just have heard about them touring, but nothing about them cutting ties.

I saying in pure "Which woul I rather listen to" stance. Its not really based on the style.

Metafive 12-18-2004 01:14 PM

"When I'm 64" isn't meant to blow anyone's mind, it's just a melody Paul wrote when he was 16 that he put words to for the album. But anyway I wouldn't say Sgt. Pepper is their best album, I couldn't pinpoint one album because they all offer different types of good songs. Like The White Album and MMT are hugely different but both are great, plus it depends on your perspective, for example my friend told me the other day her favourite beatles song was "She's Leaving Home", which isn't terrible but for sure isn't one of my favourites. anyways as for Pepper, A Day in the Life is clearly the best song, it's a monster really. But yeah we all know everyone likes the #1s like Let It Be, Hey Jude, etc, so what are some of your faovourite lesser known beatles songs?

DeusExMachina 12-18-2004 01:25 PM
Same here about the MMT.

No. George and Clapton were very close friends until George died.

I personally think Sgt. Pepper is a great album. The best? Probably not. But I really like it, I don't know why you guys don't.

Metafive, I LOVE She's Leaving Home. That's a great lesser known song, in my opinion.

Also, as my user comment thingie shows, I'm a nut for Across The Universe.

led blimp 12-18-2004 02:23 PM

being for the benefit of mister kite. very under rated song. i think its like one of their best.

the reprise of a day in the life really gave me nitemares. i cant stand that song

Then in them terms,
the songs I would rather listen to on the album are "Lovely Rita" and "Good Morning"

Walrus Gumboot 12-18-2004 02:47 PM

I just heard "Rain"
I guess it doesn't have an album to call its own but it sounds like something off of revolver... me gusta mucha

I was thinking of getting a Harrison Solo album, which one would any of you recommend?
But yeah we all know everyone likes the #1s like Let It Be, Hey Jude, etc, so what are some of your faovourite lesser known beatles songs?
Not everybody.

Anyway, here are my favorite lesser known Beatle songs:

Dear Prudance, Yer Blues, Sexy Sadie, I'm so Tired, Polythene Pam, She said She said, Tomorrow Never Knows, Baby You're a Rich Man, I want You, You Won't See Me, You've Got to Hide your Love Away

IAJP 12-18-2004 03:05 PM

In My Life.
Anyone heard it?
What a great song, personal, and one of Lennons best compositions.

I was wondering because of the whole Layla thing.

Really I like every last song, and its too hard for me to choose one.

That's the Beatles best song, and I think it was voted the best song of the century, a list not done by Rolling Stone. W00t

DeusExMachina 12-18-2004 03:53 PM

Rubber Soul as a whole doesn't get enough respect. Drive My Car is a great opening track.

Every song on Rubber Soul is so damn catchy, Drive My Car, In My Life, I'm Looking Through You, The Word. Man, I need to give it another listen.

I love how personal the lyrics in it are,
If they were made up that song wouldn't have a third of its impact and meaning.

Most definitely. I love that album. Now I need to go grab my copy of it again and give it another listen.

Sudden urges of Rubber Soul, it's like nicotine.

IAJP 12-18-2004 04:50 PM

I'm listening to "Happiness is a warm gun"
And the whole of the white album,
probbably my 2nd favourite beatles album.

We're talking about not so famous Beatle songs.

Thats one of the most famous ones. And one of my favorites.

DeusExMachina 12-18-2004 07:13 PM

Ok, a really great and really underrated song, in my opinion, is Blackbird. I love that song. Its brilliant. Also, its the first song I ever learned to play on the guitar.

Its the second album I ever got.

Walrus Gumboot 12-18-2004 08:57 PM

I went to that big library in London last year (Brittish Library?) and it had the Magna Carta, Shakespeare, and hand-written Beatles lyrics, the most notable being "In My Life" of which a significant amount had been scribbled out, that was interesting, something you can't get here in Los Estados Unidos

I love the keyboard/harpsichord solo
