Hmm, a Clapton concert would sound pretty sweet, gotta consider that too.

Badmoon, your band sound really cool. When you guys get some songs done you gotta post them on here. I'd love to hear them. And I agree with the name thing, CHANGE IT! :p
Yeah, right now I'm making us do a bunch of old folk and blues covers, so it morphs our playing and it gives us some background. We've been playing for a short time. The covers we have done don't fit exactly what I just said, but were working on some covers that do. The covers we have done, in our short time together are "Bad moon Rising", and "Uncle John's band".

StreetlightRock 04-09-2004 11:05 PM

<-- Bonz0 yours... heh, sorry badmoon, ill get to yours asap.

*counts down - 7hours till the DP concert!

DVG.

EDIT: Badmoon, got yours done, just need to wait for bonz0 to pick his up

Zillions of Great ol' Rock bands...

How about...
Tull - Deep Purple - ELP - Yes - Doobie Brothers - Bad Company - Frampton - Humble Pie - REO Speedwagon - Zappa - Jeff Beck - Mahogany Rush, Pink Floyd, Uriah Heep, etc, etc, etc...

VoodooChild 04-09-2004 11:19 PM

^^^Yea, that's true, there are a lot of great ol' rock bands out there.^^^

Badmoon, if you have recording of those 2 covers you should put them up on soundclick or something. Like I said before, I really want to hear them. And also, what instuments do you play in your band. I'm just curious.

Guitar, I'm origianlly a drummer, but I'm equally as good at guitar.

Eventually I'll probably throw in some banjo playing too.

VoodooChild 04-09-2004 11:35 PM

Haha, using Pulp Fiction wisely.

Yea, guitar is the way to go. Some banjo playing would be nice too. Anyway, I'll be waiting till you guys record something.

Badmoon 04-09-2004 11:39 PM

^Well don"t be suprised if your waiting for a while

BludgeonySteve 04-10-2004 10:15 AM

Think you could post some music from your band some time?

I might start a band once I get my electric guitar. We would be sort of a Van Halen type band exept with less good soloing obviously. We would have a few acoustic songs and maybe even a few bluesy songs.

RockAndRoll 04-10-2004 10:31 AM

Heh, my band does covers of time, The Ocean, Dazed and Confused, Voodoo Child, Purple Haze, Communication Break Down, we used to do some others but we haven't played them much lately, unfortunately we also have no vocalist however my guitarist is taking lessons, and he'll currently fill some parts in with some improve.

StreetlightRock 04-10-2004 10:52 AM

AAaaaiiiiiiyyyeeee!! HOLY GOD THAT ROCKKKKEEDDD!! That was one of the best concert EVER! Deep Purple still have it in them guys!! It was outdoors, two and half hours of pure Rock an' Roll! They played all the good ones, Perfect Strangers, Hush, Blacknight, Woman from Tokyo, and of course, Somke on the Water!! EEee, it was wild! Their new keyboardist kicks major as* and and, oh ye gods... bed... bed...

DVG.

The best thing you could do instead of starting a band right away, is learn atleast 15 covers by yourself. The covers would have to be by a band(s) that you want to sound like. Don't make originals until you can play each of those songs, have them down by memorization, and know them like the back of your hand. That will give you a knowledge of what you want to write and what you want to sound like. The next step would be, forming a band. Just don't rush into stuff. This is all being said from a guy who rarely gets out, and no tons of crap like this. Make sure you know what you want from your band also.

FrailandBedazzled1979 04-10-2004 12:57 PM

what do you guys feel about Aerosmith's all blues album that just came out?

Badmoon 04-10-2004 01:23 PM

^ not much of an Aerosmith fan, but I can see downloading some songs from it.

Heh, we were going to do fire until we realized how bad it sounded without vocals.
Heh, we were going to do fire until we realized how bad it sounded without vocals.
Speaking of "Fire", the drumming on there is nuts. Do any of your drummers play it exact? It took me a, okay amount time to learn it exact. That was a while ago though. It shows you how great Mitch Mitchel was.

the drummer in my band can listen to anything to anything then play along with it straight after but with fire he has to listen to it before every time he plays it

BludgeonySteve 04-10-2004 06:31 PM

Mitch Mitchel is great. Most underated drummer ever.

Badmoon 04-10-2004 07:08 PM

Lets each post the Classic Rock bands we hate the most.

Dire Straits
Steely Dan
Foreinger
Rolling Stones (to a small degree)
Led Zeppelin
The Ramones

BludgeonySteve 04-10-2004 08:16 PM

Classic rock is perfect. I have not yet found a classic rock band that I hate.

Edit:^ I never thought the Ramones were classic rock. Yeah ok I hate them. I hate one classic rock band that I don't even consider classic rock.

Badmoon 04-10-2004 08:17 PM

^ Pathetic answer

BludgeonySteve 04-10-2004 08:19 PM

That was really fast.

And I seriously can't find any classic rock that I hate. Some of it might sound bad but if it's classic rock I can't hate it. I can dislike the music but that is as far as I can take it.

whitenoiserulz 04-10-2004 08:40 PM

IN my opinion Zeppelin is the best band ever. They r my favorite band and my own rock band aspires to be as great as them. I know at least a fourth of their songs and am still learning more. I think that classic rock is birdging the gap between two generations and I have been noticing a classic rock revival in my area :thumb: . Bands from today rip off so much of classic rocks greatest songs and riffs and I notice it everyday. Without classic rock where would we be??????????

I agree with you completely. But you better hightail it out of here before badmoon gets angry at you for saying that Led Zeppelin did all of that. He will beat you senseless for believing that Zeppelin did anything for music (:p to badmoon).

IMo the most talented all around band ever and certainly one of the best sounding.

RockAndRoll 04-10-2004 09:09 PM

Hey anyone else see sarstock last summer?

They did ****!! :p

No, I believe they have talent, but I do believe they're slightly overrated, in all aspects.

I use to like them, but it's just Robert Plant's voice that makes you dislike them. There are many other reasons why I dislike them, but that is one large part.
