Ah well maybe im just being nostalgic then. Ive had this monitor nigh on 6 years and its not dead yet

spike9908 09-26-2005 02:06 PM
lol thats cruel spike, i just applied for a cashiering job a few hours ago...so so cruel
oh, just you wait till you start. especally if its at a grocery store. people get all pissy if you dont go fast enough or if you start to bag in plastic but they just then decide to tell you paper. and dont get me started on the retards who want paper IN plastic.

styler 09-26-2005 04:19 PM

lol im lucky then, where i live we dont use paper, woohoo go canada

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 04:42 PM

yes, im trading my brass snare for a tama artwood 14 by 6.5

Jezen 09-26-2005 04:49 PM

Unfortunately, I have had to decide against the module.

Instead, i'll pick up a 10" tom, a cymbal grabber, some parts for my repair projects, and some heads. Maybe if I have enough money from the projects, I will get a module then.

Double Bass Jim 09-26-2005 05:06 PM

Sounds good mang, you should really get some new heads first!!

styler 09-26-2005 05:36 PM

^ you do need them BB

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 05:49 PM

oh here are some pics of the moon festival. i used my set with my friends pdp toms since they sounded better, but they didnt because he lied and told me that the heads sounded great. So it was likt playing with 8 and 10 in toms. You can even see the asian lanterns in the back

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 05:51 PM

oh we had a canopy but they had to take it off because it caused them too many problems the day before.

styler 09-26-2005 06:00 PM

lol thats crazy, every person in your band looks like people i know, your bassist looks like my old guitarist, your singer (i think hes singer) looks like my friends old drummer, only kinda chubbier, and your drummer (i believe thats you) looks like this guy that used to play on my drum set, your grip even looks the same, except yours looks like you know what your doing, the other guy just tried to mimmick me, you guys look awesome, any audio?

Plan B. 09-26-2005 06:11 PM

Haha, that set looks really small to me.

Looks super fun though.

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 06:24 PM

no audio, there was no singing it was just announcing what songs where up. But we are plannin on recording a demo since everyone wanted to buy our cd for the ballad.

Double Bass Jim 09-26-2005 06:33 PM
Haha, that set looks really small to me.
spike9908 09-26-2005 06:35 PM
Haha, that set looks really small to me.

when i first looked at it, i thought it was an 18" bass. now it looks like a 20"

rockindrummer 09-26-2005 07:36 PM

Looks awsome poppin.

Win A Rabbit 09-26-2005 07:44 PM

well my friend got drums not too long ago, and i was giving him "lessons" (it was really just me writing down things for him to practice, things to get, etc.) and now he told me he doesn't want me to help him. he said that he doesn't care about technique, and that holding the sticks tight feels better. he said that rudiments don't matter because he'd never use them in a song. he doesn't want to spend money on a practice pad or metronome because he's already broke 4 sticks, and doesn't want to spend all of his money on drums. he just wants to continue playing along to songs, with no guidance at all.

any suggestions? do i just give up on him?

rockindrummer 09-26-2005 07:52 PM

You can't be to much if he is going to be an ass about that kinda stuff. Just tell him how he could actually hurt himself using wrong technique and tell him he should go to a teacher for a little while so that he can get sorted out and won't end up doing some serious damage.

styler 09-26-2005 08:20 PM

tell him its because of his technique that hes breaking his sticks, and that hes an idiot for not wanting to be taught, and that he needs to mature abit and take any advice he can from someone who knows more than he does

Loyton 09-26-2005 09:00 PM

Hey guys. I just got home from a 6 1/2 hours of marching music rehearal. Im liiiiimp.

Loyton 09-26-2005 09:18 PM
Tell him to start a punk band.
Hahaha ouch.

Tim 09-26-2005 09:28 PM

tell him to donate his drums to me and to jump out of a 200 story building face first out of a glass window. :D

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 09:38 PM

^^^^
no

hahhah nice one loyton

Jomofo 09-26-2005 09:52 PM

Hey poppin, is it just the pictures that make that kit look so tiny? Is it a 20" kick?

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 10:21 PM

yeah it is a 20 kick, they are all fusion sizes with a 13 in brass snare, 18 in paistes with a 20 in ride and 14 in highats.

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 10:21 PM

its probably because they are so tall and im so far back.

Double Bass Jim 09-26-2005 10:25 PM

I beleive it is, it's got an illusion to it.

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 10:29 PM

hahah
Who is really bigger, the three men in the front or the man in the back.

turn the page

The man behind the set is actually 16t ft tall, this illusion works by putting midgets in front and putting the man extremely far back.

poppinfresh 09-26-2005 10:30 PM

i got it out of this book

Win A Rabbit 09-26-2005 10:56 PM

well i'm quitting my band tomorrow, for a while atleast. the tension's starting to get out of hand between us, so i figured i'd just let them know i'm taking a break while they regroup and figure out if they still want to be in a band, and to come back to me when they've made some progress. i just don't want a big argument to ensue and put our friendship in jeopardy. hopefully they can realize that bandmates and best friends are 2 different things.

anyways, i've been drawing constantly for the past few days, man i love it. i've always wanted to draw, but i always failed my art classes because i'm terrible at actually drawing real people, but i have all these "cartoony" images in my head that are partly similar to stuff like the guys from www.eyesuckink.com those guys, specifically alex pardee, kind of inspired me to do this. now i can't get enough. i'll go through a whole cd, and getting an image in my head from each individual song, and then i'll find a way to put lyrics from that song into the picture. it's alot of fun, and i'll scan some of them if i ever get a scanner.

Double Bass Jim 09-27-2005 02:15 AM

Good luck on the band situation man ^ Hopefully it doesnt go to badly.

Drum Phil 09-27-2005 02:31 AM

Well im in for another day of unsuccesful job hunting :( somone give me free money

Double Bass Jim 09-27-2005 02:40 AM

Drum Phil 09-27-2005 02:45 AM

Yeah i know :( I need a job cause im sposed to be taking me girlfriend away after xmas and upgrading me kit as well

Voodoo Rabbit 09-27-2005 02:47 AM

My clothes and hair are drenched, and I am cold.

Now, I have to make a 'Geography quiz' for little kids, and I don't know what to do...

*cough* work for the state *cough*

Jezen 09-27-2005 10:58 AM

Well some guy just mailed me offering to pay me 280 quid a week to be in his band...

Whats state work like?

Drum Phil 09-27-2005 11:29 AM

I assume its the same as working for the council/government

PowerStamp 09-27-2005 12:45 PM

Dudeskies!

I bought Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks yesterday, that game's badass!! Whoo!!

Now I gotta go pay $105.37 on my insurance, and set aside $60 for my bank (negative account, if I don't pay it off soon they're closing it. My dad's covering half.)
Then come back and band practice.

Oh and I figured out a solution for my broken-recorder problems. COMPUTER.
The TAPE PLAYER of the recorder no longer works, and that's easily fixable, but takes money which I'm short on right now.

SO! I'm gonna take one of the computers downstairs and use the recorder as a mixer (as far as I know that part still works), and record straight onto the computer.

:D

Double Bass Jim 09-27-2005 01:27 PM
*cough* work for the state *cough*
Haha yea thats the way to do it man, I remember I tryed to get a job as a postman right outta high school, thats gotta be one of the hardest jobs on the planet to get. You could sign an app here now and it would take 10 years to get through all the people in front of me.

Those guys get everything, the very best benefits and vacation time.
