Moon Safari > Talkie Walkie
Those are the only two I've heard though. |
Moon Safari > Talkie Walkie
Those are the only two I've heard though.
If you say so. :p But I might have to give Talkie Walkie another listen just to make sure. |
If you say so. :p
Yes, I have the final word on all. |
Estradasphere - It's Understood
Haven't spun any of these chaps in a while. |

Sometimes I'd say they got a ska-reggae feel, sometimes I wouldn't know what to call them. Nonetheless they are real good IMO. Some good songs could be: Beergut Alchoholic Another Generation Ma & Pa Check them out. I'll update this weekly.
Its called e-m-o |
Its called e-m-o
Say wha? I've been diggin Liquid Liquid. Sorta no wave in nature though they missed the time frame by a few years, minimal dance beats that remind me slightly of the Talking Heads. |
Bob Mould - Workbook
This is a lot better than anything Sugar's ever done. Sugar sucks.
Very good Nacho. |
Do you also dislike Sugar? Thank you for being the only other person on earth that agrees.
Sugar is not as great as everyone, including Bob Mould, says it is. He was just trying to get back at Grant Hart and Husker Du, none of his solo/Sugar works have ever reached the same level that Husker Du was at. |
"Sugar is not as great as everyone says it is" is the understatement of the year. Copper Blue makes me throw up a little.
It makes me want to shoot myself. |
I just downloaded The Stooges - Fun House, so I'll likely be digging that for the next little while.

Shakti with John McLaughlin Live
British guitarist pretends he's Indian when he plays an energetic fusion of his jazz-rock background and Indian traditional music. He is joined in the trio by tabla player Zakir Hussain and violinist L. Shankar. |

I'm picturing the guy in your avatar saying that. It is quite entertaining. |
Snakefinger and other residents-related groups. Mostly snakefinger, though.
Oh, and the mountain goats. That's some great great stuff. |

I listend to the commerical album twice in the last few days, and now the residents are really high on my lastfm due to the short songs.
|
Yeah. That album is basically the reason the Residents are so high on my list. I love that album a lot, though.
|
Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand (5/5)
still the only album that always makes me feel better whenever I put it on.
That's the album I've been rotating with Blank Generation in the ol' CD player today. |
I've been diggin Liquid Liquid. Sorta no wave in nature though they missed the time frame by a few years, minimal dance beats that remind me slightly of the Talking Heads.
They're kind of cool, but I got over them fast. New diggage for today: Wrens Interpol Mit Gas The Inflated Tear |
Yeah. That album is basically the reason the Residents are so high on my list. I love that album a lot, though.
The residents are #1 on my list, even though my brother and I both stopped listening to them for quite awhile. The problem is that they come up on random play so often, so it's impossible to avoid.
What about the Cheese Cheesers?
Sometimes I get the feeling you're making fun of me. |
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
I didn't really like it when I first got it, but I'm likin' it this time around. |
Iron On - Oh The Romance
Iron On are a new band from Brisbane (where I live). This is their debut album, and I love it. It's indie pop/rock with alternating male and female vocals in a similar style to Death Cab for Cutie, I guess. Very catchy stuff. They have some songs on purevolume (link), listen to the song off this album for a start. They also have a website: http://www.ironon.live.com.au/
Hey, thanks! These guys are really good. |

Your bro got to plug them before you so he has the whoring rights. Unless you kill him or something. |
Yeah I know, but since he's hardly ever here, I may as well plug them too.
I guess I could kill him though... |
Last couple of days:
Jesus Lizard - Head

The Dismemberment Plan
Taken Sufjan Stevens Arcade Fire |
Not even the Mastodon one? I thought you were a big fan.
My brother has it and I never got around to ripping it to my computer. But at least I have the song Megalodon  Also, here's a band that has my attention after one song: Tub Ring! |
At The Drive In
I don't usually bother with them, but I'm having fun with them today. |
Coheed And Cambria - Blah Blah Ridiculous Album Name IV

enjoy? i sure know i do |
Also, here's a band that has my attention after one song: Tub Ring!
Their Fermi Paradox album is neeaat. Their other stuff doesn't impress me as much. I've been diggin': Toby Driver - In the L...L...Library Loft Solo album from the Kayo Dot dude. It's a bit out there.... The good stuff is great, but some of it is a bit too ambient and such for me. |
Their Fermi Paradox album is neeaat. Their other stuff doesn't impress me as much.
Well the song I heard was "The Promise Keeper" from their most recent album. Still pretty good. |
Well the song I heard was "The Promise Keeper" from their most recent album. Still pretty good.
Yeah, that's still a good album, but Fermi Paradox is the main reason I really dig them. |
Aztec Camera.
He (basically a solo act, Roddy Frame) reminds me of Orange Juice in many ways. If you like OJ, the Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen etc. you'll probably really dig this stuff. I'm just listening to it for the first time so I can't recommend specific tracks just yet but the album I picked up (combination of Knife andAztec Camera LPs) is classy. |
