the_pure_drummer 02-25-2008 03:30 PM

My eyes hurt when i use the computer now :(

I need glasses.

bobby__johnny 02-25-2008 03:36 PM

LCD monitor?

the_pure_drummer 02-25-2008 03:39 PM

laptop.........

What's that?

Drum Phil 02-25-2008 03:40 PM

I hate LCD monitors.

Laptops are usually LCD.

bobby__johnny 02-25-2008 03:42 PM

CRT's are great for gaming and such...but for long eye relief, there isnt much better than having an LCD

Drum Phil 02-25-2008 03:44 PM

I miss my old 19" CRT :( LCD blows goats for photo processing. Look at it slightly the wrong way and you misinterpret the colours.

bobby__johnny 02-25-2008 03:44 PM

what are you using for a monitor Phil?

the_pure_drummer 02-25-2008 03:46 PM

My eyes really hurt hard :(

Gonna cut out the laptop for a bit.

Drum Phil 02-25-2008 03:52 PM

15" LCD. It sucks dick.

oliv_da_skinmasher 02-25-2008 03:52 PM

I have a laptop with a 15" LCD monitor which is great it also has a 2nd monitor attached which is a 15" flatscreen. and my desktop has a 22" LCD pc/tv monitor which rocks for movies

Drum Phil 02-25-2008 03:53 PM

I want dual 20" CRTs.

One for the image im processing, one for the tools and stuff to do the processing.

bobby__johnny 02-25-2008 03:54 PM

22" wide screen dell. totally rules.

TF2 FTW at 1650X1080

Drum Phil 02-25-2008 04:01 PM

I want the dell machine i saw the other day :(

1TB HDD
3Gb Ram
3.5Ghz Intel Quadcore processor
Dual 768 Geforce 8800GTX graphics cards
Soundblaster XFI Xtreme soundcard

Win A Rabbit 02-25-2008 04:02 PM

The screen on my desktop blows.

Whenever I do something on Photoshop (only have it on that computer) I finish it, email it to myself, go on the laptop, check it, find out what I need to fix, then go back to the desktop and edit it.

green242 02-25-2008 04:09 PM

^that would be annoying

Maggot Dream 02-25-2008 04:10 PM
I want the dell machine i saw the other day :(
Why would anyone want a Dell?

Drum Phil 02-25-2008 04:12 PM

Because it had silly specs and a pretty case.

Cant be any worse than this Philips Freeline peice of crap im using.

oliv_da_skinmasher 02-25-2008 04:12 PM

They're good machines

you could build the same specced PC for less probably.

crazyguy832 02-25-2008 04:22 PM

^^^
Take out "less probably" and replace with "far less."

bobby__johnny 02-25-2008 04:23 PM

lol. its true. the only time i've seen prefab computers end up being cheaper, is when they're packaged with a monitor.

Maggot Dream 02-25-2008 04:26 PM

Avoid Dell like the plague. You'll only run into problems with your hardware down the line, and when you do, their customer support is absolutely worthless.

Build one, if you can. If not, go for an HP or something.

bobby__johnny 02-25-2008 04:27 PM

yeah, i can vouch for HP. they have great upgradablity, and are solid as a rock (though the only thing left stock on my "HP" is the mobo and processor.

Drum Phil 02-25-2008 04:27 PM

I dont actually intend to buy one.

I'd never use specs like that.

crazyguy832 02-25-2008 04:29 PM

Trust me.

You would.

Your programs would find a way.
