Dead Star 05-20-2005 02:38 PM

w00t w00t, I'm cleaning my room :upset:

lstprphtspnk12 05-20-2005 02:39 PM

Its like Singing and Dancing. Its Pretty much like a musical. I just tryed out cause I like the kids in it.

Kif 05-20-2005 02:40 PM

Making The Movie: Sin City was a bit of a letdown. It was basically the cast discussing how it was to work on greenscreen and how amazing the movie was. The bit about Quentin Tarantino guest-directing though was pretty cool. I think I'm gonna watch this after Scrubs, it's by far my favourite movie of the year so far

Understanding In a Crash 05-20-2005 02:48 PM

Crash is my favorite movie of the year...

I got some CD's today...

Bane - The Note
Circa Survive
SOAD - Toxicity

Untitled 05-20-2005 02:48 PM

Stars Wars is mine.

Understanding In a Crash 05-20-2005 02:50 PM

I thought Star Wars was good but highly overrated.

It seems like they threw in the idea "hey lets improvise something to make money and tie up loose ends."

Kif 05-20-2005 02:54 PM
Bane - The Note
Circa Survive
SOAD - Toxicity
All amazing albums, I really like Circa a lot

Understanding In a Crash 05-20-2005 02:58 PM

Still my favorite characters are:

Janga Fett
Darth Maul
Han Solo

I thought Anakin Skywalker before Darth Vader was a bad boy too!

Understanding In a Crash 05-20-2005 02:59 PM

Does anyone know of that Dragon thingie that Obi Wan rides in the newest one. It made the cutest sounds

Puma 05-20-2005 03:01 PM

God, what is it with people and SOAD? They're not good.

Understanding In a Crash 05-20-2005 03:02 PM

Please god say you're joking.
Vince should be mod end of story.
I dunno the name, but it made that noise, and i thaught "aww, so cute" then it started to annoy me.

I like them. I love the music, I think it's the right type of heavy listening, and I think they are good musicians. I do think they are very goofy in their vocals and lyrics sometimes though, but that just makes the songs more memorable and funnier to talk about

No, I heard there's some new instrumental demos out but I haven't bothered to track them down yet. I might listen to the EP again, that's some fine music right there

Someone post in the Forced listening thread

I honestly cannot stand them. B.Y.O.B. is one of the dumbest, crappiest songs I've ever heard. But I'll give them props, a few songs off Toxicity were listenable. New stuff though, makes me wanna puke.

You know what, I've never really criticized that song. It doesn't really flow as well as I thought it could've, and the lyrics are very mainstream for the "we hate the government" generation. And it probably shouldn't be as long as it is

But still, the music is decent. You have to give them that. That riff in the chorus, it's just so memorable. I humm is all the time when we are with friends, and one of them just starts singing "Everybody's going to the party, have a real good time".

It might not be a great SOAD song, but it's one of the catchiest songs I've heard in a long time. Whether it's pop or pop-punk or rock, nothing even compares with this in terms of how it gets stuck in my head

Kif 05-20-2005 03:19 PM
Toxicity was great all the way through, I could listen to it in one straight go.
But Steal This Album had only around 2 good songs, the rest were  so I hope this album isnt the same
Steal This Album was just b-sides and rare songs I think

Well, I'm not saying they're a bad band. Some of their music is cool, but alot of the time, it's their lyrics and vocals that drive me away from them. Something about it just irritates me to no end. Also, it just seems like everyone likes them. I've never seen anyone else in here say they disliked them, so I just figured I'd say something.

Untitled 05-20-2005 03:25 PM

I dont like BYOB, or Boulovard of broken dreams, as i like to call it (byob n bobd look simaler) I like a few SOAD songs, toxicity, chop suey, the usual ones.

cbmartinez 05-20-2005 03:28 PM

Circa Survive sucks. SOAD is amazing.

I know what you mean, Serj's singing pisses me off a lot sometimes as well. It just seems so goofy and like he's just messing around. But their backing vocals, he can sing well.

Also, the lyrics seem like they wrote them after smoking weed. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the odd song like that. But I mean, most of the songs on the new album seem a little half-assed. Cigaro is fun to listen to for the humour, but it goes away after a while and seems a tad immature after a few listens

B.Y.O.B. = Bring Your Own Bombs :thumb:

cbmartinez 05-20-2005 03:32 PM

I didn't like "Cigaro" save the first time I heard it. "BYOB" is so fun though.

Meh, ill still call it BOBD, im ignorant like that.

Kif 05-20-2005 03:34 PM

I didn't realize Anthony Green was the vocalist for Circa Survive as well as Saosin and The Sound Of Animals Fighting until I just listened to Juturna right after Translating The Name EP

Untitled 05-20-2005 03:35 PM

^^That makes no sence to me what so ever.....
