Don't get me wrong, I love metal, but you can't talk about rappers not being taken seriously because of their names when you have bands like Anal Blast, Cannibal Corpse, Mortician, etc. And for misspellings, Kreator, Berzerker, etc. The point is, the name does not make an artist, the music does.

But I mean, really. The hip-hop culture is making ignorance and iliteracy seem cool.

There's more annoying, materialistic rap than good rap. But there is some good rap. The early stuff was good ;)

yea as much as i disslike rap, the earlier stuff wasn't that bad. the lyrics were more than drugs and sex and money. now it sucks

Wow, really? I bet all of that classic rock is mainstream arena rock (ac/dc, guns n roses, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, The Who). Not neccisarily a bad thing, but you barely ever see people who are into blues and folk rock.
