Maybe I'm a pessismist, but a lot of it just seems like a load and a lot won't change for peace for a long time, if at all. I mean we can barely work democracy and that was simple.

I think people need to realise that democracy can't work with capitalism. They are too different. Democracy means equality, and capitalism does not. I'm not promoting communism, but maybe some economic model not so oppressive?

No government system (or lack thereof) or economic system we've thought up thus far will ever work.

I think we need to define 'work'. it will never be perfect, some people will always be lazier than others, some people will be stupid, some people will be evil (not that human beings can be evil, but do evil deeds, you know what I mean), people will have their problems that they need to sort out themselves.

White Punks On Hope made me think about stuff I'd never thought about. And another one, which may have been Banned From The Roxy, but I can't remember. In a way, all those bands that signed up with major record labels, but still carried the DIY or anarchist or anti-capitalist or anti-system message were hypocrites. doesn't mean their music wasn't good, but it does kinda make their messages empty.

Democracy can easily coincide with capitalism. No where is it said that democracy involved complete economic equality, but solely that it gives a vote to all people. The idea of a majority rule government isn't complete equality. The only government system in which all are equal is anarchism which is entirely unfeasible in our current political climate no matter where you live.

Also, capitalism isn't inherently oppressive. It is the people that make it corrupt not the philosophy. There can be oppression with any economy.
