oh man i havent heard em play jet black new year live! i bet that would have just kicked ****ingass! how do you think the new stuff compares to the rest of their work?
Yeah, people were relentlessly cheering "Jet Black!" after they ended their set. So they came back on and played it and during the endind, jesus, people ****ing went nuts! The place was sold out so it was so ****ing packed tight. I was being pushed, squeezed and suffocated from every direction while I still had my hand in the air and was trying to sing along to every word while having the wind knocked out of me. Kids tried to open up pits but there wasn't enought space so everyone just went wild. They're were crowdsurfers everywhere it was amazing.

As far as their new stuff, it was really amazing. Kind of simple by their standards but still amazing. "Against This Velocity" is really heavy and fast and the other two are slow, ambient and amazing. Wait until you hear "The Love Song Writer." For the new songs, I just closed my eyes and let the music just wrap me up. Geoff was amazing, I've always heard he's bad at singing live but he was ****ing amazing. He hit every note with so much energy and emotion, it was everything I could have asked for. The only thing I'm worried about is that all the kids who jock WATT will turn these new songs into "omg emo anthems" like they did with "War All The Time (which I was almost glad they didn't play)."
woah, are they playing near you twice?
Yeah, three holiday shows.

12/26 with Converge
12/27 with Men, Women And Children and The Blood Brothers
12/28 with The Blood Brothers, mewithoutYou and Circle Takes The Square

Wow, I hate you.

I'm seeing If He Dies He Dies and The Number 12 Looks Like You with a few other good bands sometime in January and sometime in February.

I'm that cool.

Oh yeah...hi.

bottlerocket 12-28-2005 12:56 PM

I love Converge and CTTS...:D

Hey guys, I haven't posted here in a while.

Hey everyone, be sure to check out the band whoreage threads for my Jimmy Eat World playlists if you don't listen to them. I have made one of their slower songs, and one of their faster songs, and I am sure that if you don't listen to them now, these downloads will make you love them.

I just saw a post by him but it wasn't his main account.

Your so lucky Chris, i'd love to see Converge, so intense.

Same here. I kept shouting stuff like "Mutiny On The Ark Of The Blood Brothers" and "Boy Armageddeon" but alas, no luck.

Harvey Danger. That's a pretty good super hero name.
Your so lucky Chris, i'd love to see Converge, so intense.
Yeah, I wanted to go to that but my parents wouldn't go for three shows in a row. Plus, the one with Converge was about 2 hours away. These two are only 45 minutes.

Mute Print 12-28-2005 01:11 PM

Converge would be awesome. Actually, any of those shows would be great.

Angry Balled Fists! 12-28-2005 01:11 PM

Yeah, all shows around here are over 2 hours away, Nopttingham is hte nearest decent vneue and it's 1 and a half hours away.

All i've got planned next year is: Coheed v.s Thrice and Agianst Me!

cbmartinez 12-28-2005 01:12 PM

Converge would be frightening live.

thomas is fast 12-28-2005 01:13 PM

Smaller bands come to Traverse City which is an hour away from Manistee. Bigger bands sometimes come to Grand Rapids which is 2 hours. Most bands just go to Detroit which is 4 hours. I'll only go to Detroit if the show is all day or NOFX.

Angry Balled Fists! 12-28-2005 01:14 PM

I've got a video of them playing The Broken Vow/Drop Out, they looked amazing.

Mute Print 12-28-2005 01:14 PM

Coheed and Thrice should be incredible Dan. Against Me! is awesome live as well.

I saw Converge. Someone broke their leg in the circle pit there. I was at the front moshing, and I didn't know the word to any of their songs at that time so when the singer put the mic to the audience I just yelled "RARWRARRRARWRARRAAWWRAARARWRWR!!!!!".
The big guitar player from Terror stage dove and landed right on my friends head, so he had to sit out for their last song (The Saddest Day) and we all thought he had a concussion.

Mute Print 12-28-2005 01:17 PM

Terror is so awesome live. Probably my favorite hardcore band, too.
