Temporary poll:
Which Metallica song is better about War [heroes?]:
One or Disposable Heroes?

I'd say Disposable Hereoes, but only because I can't stand the music for One....

Kickflip_Burrito 10-27-2004 04:04 AM

One is better, but Disposable Heroes is better for rocking out.

Whats sweep-picking?

Blanka Flip 10-27-2004 02:09 PM

sweep picking is a continuous strum down the strings with the right hand, while your fret hand hits a different not with every string your picking.

Now for my post...I bought St. Anger when it first came out, and sence have lost the little tiny piece of paper needed for the metallica vault website...Is it possible to use someone elses cd key? and if it is, could i use somebodys? I hate to ask, and yeah, its kind of lame, but i was wandering...The vualt looks like its pretty **** cool, and we all know St. Anger isnt worth re-buying... Well. email me at blankaflip@yahoo.com if you wanna get with me..thanks guys, rock on.

metallica master 10-27-2004 08:22 PM
One is better, but Disposable Heroes is better for rocking out.

no doubt that one is better, but Disposable Heroes is right there with it. One is the kinda song that makes you think.....

Better Than You 10-27-2004 08:59 PM

what cd is Disposable Heroes on?

MoX_KIll 10-27-2004 09:05 PM

I think Disposable Heroes is better even though One is good the best part is aroundth e 4 min mark till end...but Disposable Heroes is good through out the hole thing

Stevie_P 10-27-2004 09:19 PM

I thought this died
what cd is Disposable Heroes on?
Master of Puppets, of course.

jaymz_is_god 10-28-2004 12:10 PM

One is an over-rated song, i love it, but i wouldn't consider it as one of Metallica's best. On the other hand, i think Disposable Heroes is under-rated. Great song, should be played live more often.

disposeable heroes is probably their most underrated song but one of the best.

Stevie_P 10-28-2004 01:15 PM

number 8700!!

baconsrebellion 10-28-2004 03:28 PM

rocks

Metallica Rocks i love Metallica my favorite album is The Black Album

Joe 10-28-2004 03:32 PM
What is sweep-picking/sweeping ?

Anyway, my favourite solos are Blackened, Dyer's Eve, Hit The Lights and Creeping Death. Then again, of all Metallica's solos are good.
On a side-note, I'm totally surprised that 'Tallica have been performing 'The God That Failed' recently. Love that song but wow, didn't think they'd play that.
yea i just went to the concert and the first thing they said after playin that was "holy $hit we haven't played that in ten phuckin years!"

are you serious?!?! one has the most unbelievable music! i love them both, especially live

same with enter sandman. way too overrated. its got catchy riffs but its one of there songs that i will actually get sick of after awhile, unlike all of there other ones.

fade to black is underrated. it surprises me that its not as popular as puppets, sandman, one, etc. the solo is absolutely amazing and theres so much soul into the beginning.

Nightmare7568993 10-28-2004 03:42 PM

Damage inc or To live is to die what do you think?

metallovinbastrd 10-28-2004 04:41 PM
Damage inc or To live is to die what do you think?
wow, thats so tough. to live is to die has so many amazign aspects in musicianship obviously with the starting power thats trown around and then turns into solos and then the quite part goes to marmonizing guitars. amazing song. damage is also a rad song. extremely fast and powerful saying the least. but for now i'll take to live is to die.

Mr Dark Soul 10-28-2004 09:12 PM

Damage Inc. Gotta love that bass opening.
Damage inc or To live is to die what do you think?
Orion vs To Live Is To Die is a better comparison. How can you compare one of the faster Metallica songs with one of their slower ballads. I love both, but for different reasons.

metal_milita 10-28-2004 10:44 PM
are you serious?!?! one has the most unbelievable music! i love them both, especially live
i don't like it how they perform it live anymore. but "for whome the bell tolls" is also a war song, and i think that beats all.

rage99 10-28-2004 11:02 PM

hehe lol n00bs!!!

Riva 10-28-2004 11:22 PM

"For Whom The Bell Tolls" is based on the book by Ernest Hemmingway. It is about a lot more than war, though. It is a good read.

Heavy0metal0freak 10-28-2004 11:41 PM
The past few Sum 41 songs have absolutely ripped off Metallicas work.
pisses me off too

I hate One.. If Metallica never released One but still released St Anger they would have my respect, I have added St Anger to my iPod, but I will never add One (Although ajfa is a great album, I hate One).

Chu 10-29-2004 12:27 AM

100% but I don't think Fade To Black is underrated, ask any Metallica fan their favourite ten songs, and Fade To Black usually comes in somewhere.
Who cares if non-Metallica fans haven't heard it?

Diatonic Dissonance™ 10-29-2004 01:00 AM

Disposable Heroes is so underrated. I hate it :( (the fact that it's underrated, not the song).

They should play it so more often! That alternate-picking at the start is to die for!

And the lyrics are pure genius!

Disposable > One.

Metallica=bumlicker 10-29-2004 01:48 AM

Metallica aye. Fully sick.

Metallica fanboys dominate this thread. It is quite hilarious.

Burdcheese 10-29-2004 06:29 AM

Isn't that the general idea though?

Riva 10-29-2004 06:35 AM

Fanboys are different to fans though.

Burdcheese 10-29-2004 06:42 AM

Very True

jason01 10-29-2004 06:51 AM

hero of the day is a good song
