Last thread on page 2.

Does anyone know where I may be able to find a Warzone back patch? I checked all their label's sites, Googled around, and checked some popular merch sites like Interpunk. Probably doesn't exist, so how difficult would making a patch be?

yourstruly 08-22-2007 04:25 PM

not difficult, just depends on how good you want it to be.

you could get a piece of cloth, make/find a stencil, get some acrylic paint/screen printing ink and you're set.

there's instructions on http://stencilpunks.mattrunningnaked.com/

Special Brew 08-22-2007 05:23 PM

Thanks, I'll check it out. The design I'll probably put on it will be simple, but I'd like to make it as durable as possible. Would the ink or paint run with water/sweat?

Anarcho Poser 08-22-2007 05:28 PM

nah

just make sure you heat up the ink/paint after it's dry via dryer or iron

Anyone know how to stop bleeding?

Scuba_Steve 09-02-2007 11:01 PM

either bandage, or Emergency Room.

You decide the seriousness

Unless you've got hemophilia, then I really don't know how to advise you.

This looked easy enough, but after trying many many times today I'm finding out it's alot tougher than it seems.

I tried microwaving in pyrex, baking in ceramic, and frying in a frying pan.

The first 2 didn't work well at all, and frying it only resulted in a plate.

I'm thinking tomorrow I'll go out and buy a wok and try using that. Or I read on a forum that it might be possible to place them in a circle on foil and heat it up on a bbq, then when they're melting, press them into a big bowl.

Any suggestions?

SkaRobotArmy 09-04-2007 11:51 AM

hAHAHA, thats awesome. i think i might try that as well. did it stick to the pans and s'hit or just didn't stick together proper?

Win A Rabbit 09-04-2007 12:34 PM

In the microwave they started melting evenly all around (if I kept going it would have just been a plastic bowl)

They stuck to the bowl in the oven, but once it cools it comes off very easily.

And then I just made sure to grease the frying pan up to avoid sticking.

Tell me how it goes, man.

Edit: here's pics of my "plate". The only decent result I got from yesterday. Did this one in the frying pan.

Ok, I made a few of attempts trying to make a back patch the way I wanted, and me, being incredibly unartistic, botched and mangled it every time.

I'm just going to give in and buy a patch for some other band. What sites have decent back patches, besides Angry, Young, and Poor?

Win A Rabbit 09-04-2007 07:12 PM

Alright, so I was a bit bored today (band members forgot we were supposed to get together, I had no other plans) and so I messed around with making bowls and other fun stuff out of vinyl records.

After getting bored with that I figured I could throw some army men into the mix and came up with a neat little clock (I had a little clock I bought the other day that I now have no use for).

Here is the result:

http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/mx_sic/WallClock002.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/mx_sic/WallClock003.jpg
http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a260/mx_sic/WallClock004.jpg

A bit bubbly and such, not perfect by any means, but I think I like it more like that.

Super easy to make, too.

asdf 09-04-2007 07:42 PM

That clock is the shit, dude.

tnx.

I think I'll drop by the dollar store on my way to work tomorrow and pick up some other little toys I can try making it with.

I've gotta find a better way to get the toys to sink in without disfiguring the vinyl so badly.

It cost me like $3 to make it. I love cheap crafts that are actually usable.

.
Instead of microwaving, find a way to heat it in just the spot where you want the toy to sink. A lighter probably wouldn't be strong enough, but I'm sure you can think of something.

I actually put it in the oven. Microwaving never works for me.

Thanks for the idea. Might have to give it a try. :)

One way I was thinking was to heat up the army men before-hand to where they're almost melting, then throw them on the vinyl and heat them together. Army men melt to vinyl, vinyl gets loose enough without burning to press army men into it a bit further.

Sounds good in theory.

May have to try it this weekend when I'm off work.

if you have a way to cut them in half reasonably well or sand them flat on a power sander, you could just glue them to the vinyl.

Special Brew 09-07-2007 07:36 PM

I just learned to sew, now what can I do with this new skill? I've put a few patches on an old jacket I got, and fixed a button on a pair of pants, but that's it.

Danger Bird 09-15-2007 08:06 PM

interpunk is great.

Special Brew 09-15-2007 09:46 PM

Interpunk doesn't have a very good selection for back patches, but I'll try crustpunks.com,

punk metal bastard 09-15-2007 10:59 PM

crust punx sucks. all thier **** is over priced and someone gave me septic death patch they got off there. its already almost worn away after 3 months. and its screenprinted plastisol!! the patches i made are screened with textile ink or painted with acrylic paint and they are holding up better. just wait and buy a backpatch from the next touring band you see and help em out, or make one. doesnt have to be super ****ing detailed to be punk.

Special Brew 09-15-2007 11:25 PM

i'm actually looking for a handful of certain bands to use as a back patch, and most are overseas
i'm actually looking for a handful of certain bands to use as a back patch, and most are overseas
what bands you looking for. i have come across alot of stuff i might be able to help out.

Special Brew 09-16-2007 12:56 AM

The main band I was searching for was Warzone, but I'm certain they didn't make any back patches, so I was hoping to find some fan-made ones somewhere, since I'm an idiot and can't make a simple stencil.

Warzone, Trial, Oi Polloi (I found a few of these on AYaP), On File, ****ed Up, Cro-Mags are some of the bands I'm keeping an eye out for. Meh, I'm just going to browse around until I find something I really like. I don't like these sites like angry young and poor and interpunk. I'd rather buy it directly from the band if I can, that's why I'm being picky. :p

descendents1 09-16-2007 01:32 AM

Unless you're isolated, I recommend going to shows and buying back patches from the merch dudes. Other than that, I recommend going to punk stores. If it's really that hard to find, and you're really dying for a back patch, who cares how much you spend (within reason)?

Special Brew 09-16-2007 01:51 AM

I'm kind of isolated, especially since I'm out of a vehicle right now. :p

I hate buying stuff online, so I'm reluctant to bother buying patches unless they're from some of my favorite bands, and I might not be able to find them later. That money is better spent on albums or my car. I'd like to be able to make them instead, so I might just try that again.

Danger Bird 09-16-2007 11:21 AM

Has anyone ever used anything like this:
http://www.sunshinejoy.com/Simply_Spray_Fabric_Paint.asp?Folder=152&Name=Individually_Packaged

Spray paint fades and fabric paint always goes on too thick so this looks perfect.

asdf 09-16-2007 11:34 AM

A fried tried to use it and it sucked. Maybe it's just the brand, but it did not work at all. Very uneven and messy.

Danger Bird 09-16-2007 11:46 AM

Aw shucks. Back to spraypaint.

SkaRobotArmy 09-16-2007 01:33 PM

faded is cooler anyway.

mullets suk 09-16-2007 07:24 PM

does any one know where i can get shes such as those from no sweat. They have gotten rid of most of there lines of shoes and im looking for plain white. i bought pf flyers, while they are great shoes there not holding up, and i need something that looks a little bit more "formal". (where dress shoes are to much, but shoes that are green red an yellow is to little). if there are no other non over seas made shoes ill just go for another pair of pf flyers.
