6 days is quite extreme.

Training bis and tris on the same day is stupid given theyre antagonistic. And theyre a tiny body part they dont need their own day.

Chest day after triceps the day before lol.

And you're really targeting specific areas of your body, to be getting back into things you should really be thinking bigger.

What exercises are you gonna be using on there days?
are you just a dick and uninformative because it'd take too long to explain or are you just like that?

with all that **** talking im starting to think your an american, man

A+ on filling the brief.

When you say I should 'be thinking bigger', what do you mean? I'm just looking to build muscle at the mo, seeing as most of what I had has depleted through lack of any training lol the only exercise I've been doing is playing football and occasionally going running or swimming.

And what's wrong with doing bi/tris on the same day, or doing chest stuff the day after tris? I'm not gonna be lifting anything mental, I'll be doing like 3 sets of 8 reps, I'll pick a weight that makes it hard for me to get 7 or 8 in the second set and around 5 in the third set. That way I've got something to aim for

Squirrel 07-31-2010 06:16 PM

bis and tris on same day ive already said; theyre antagonistic to each other and theyre such a small part of your body they dont need their own day

if you knew anything about lifting you'd know the role of triceps in chest workouts so doing them the day after is retarded

working on areas in your routine as you are it sounds liek youre gonna be doing a ****load of isolation exercises (which is pretty dumb anyhow) and if youre doing compound youre gonna overload yourself so much doing a 5/6 day split

irrelevan the amount of reps and sets given the routine, you'll be overworking so much of your body
are you just a dick and uninformative because it'd take too long to explain or are you just like that?

too long to explain in detail, especially to peeps with no idea wtf theyre doing

*you're

and im not american

EmbraceRandom 08-01-2010 06:33 AM

steady on mate, I know I don't know much about weights, hence why I posted and asked about it :s

What would you suggest then?

Squirrel 08-01-2010 06:59 AM

cba going back a page but did you even have any leg workouts?

look up rippetoes starting strength

fingers mccoy 08-01-2010 07:03 AM

http://www.liamrosen.com/fitness.html

read the entire thing, do not skip parts because you think they're obvious.

EmbraceRandom 08-01-2010 07:07 AM

I didn't no, my legs are still quite strong, I just want to sort my upper body out before I start going to the gym, at which point I'll do it all.
Thanks for the link

Squirrel 08-01-2010 08:08 AM

what do you mean "sort out" your upper body?

and are you thinking you've gopt strong legs cause you play footy or something similar?

Sad But True 08-01-2010 08:09 AM

Cool link Fingers. Thanks.

EmbraceRandom 08-01-2010 08:25 AM

No I just know that my legs are much stronger than my upper body, as in I wouldn't be embarrassed doing leg work in a gym but I would with upper body stuff at the moment because I haven't done any weights since I shattered my right hand. So if I 'sort out' my upper body, i.e. build up a bit of foundational muscle at home, then I can maybe (if necessary) go the gym and work on upper body AND legs.

I haven't been properly fit/strong since I played hockey back when I was like 14/15. Hockey still interests me a lot so I'd like to get back into it one day, but I need to be fully fit and strong before I even hit the ice.

Squirrel 08-01-2010 08:47 AM

getting fit and big enough for the gym is such a bullshit paradox, stop being a pussy and go to the gym

EmbraceRandom 08-01-2010 08:57 AM

No no no, I'm not saying get big before I go to the gym, that would be paradoxical. I couldn't give a **** if some roid-boy was looking down on me, but at the same time I'd like to build up a bit of a foundation at home with dumbbells before I start paying for gym memberships, so I guess some of it is a confidence thing. Be reet.

I'm starting an MA in October, the uni gym is ok and relatively cheap so I'll graft at home until then, then get a membership and start using the uni gym throughout the year.

I read in that link about compound/isolation exercises, I see where you're coming from now. It's not exactly time-consuming to just say:
* They do a much better job of stimulating overall muscle growth and development than isolation movements.

* They allow you to work out more efficiently. You can hit every major muscle group with a small number of exercises.

* They more closely resemble ways you will exert your body in real life. They are better at producing practical, useful strength.
rather than be a big meany and stuff :p lol

Squirrel 08-01-2010 08:58 AM

well i assumed when you were talking about splits and stuff you knew what you were on about but evidently not

EmbraceRandom 08-01-2010 08:59 AM

Never assume anything, especially if you're gonna be a tit about it when you realise you're assumptions were wrong :p

I assume you're actually a squirrel, but the way you talk about weights makes me think that I may be wrong. And I thought you looked all dapper in a suit and trilby :(

Squirrel 08-01-2010 09:30 AM

never assume anything ;)

you know i just thought, how sweet is it that you picked the user name squirrel, so long before the swear filter came into effect?

that's pretty sweet.

Brosefs I need to make a single guitar track sound beefy, cause I play the song differently every time so double tracking isn't happening

I could double and move one a touch out of phase, and add chorus. I have some beefer vst thinger which does basically that

Any other suggestions kind sirs?

Maybe make my song do a pushup or 2

Learn to play it the same way twice and doubletrack it like a real man.

don't record if you don't have a clear idea of what you're recording.

you should be able to play it the same way twice - or if not, to make the deviations work.

Daily Routine 08-01-2010 10:11 PM

i think there can be a certain value to his approach and wish u would all shut the fuk up about "u should be able to play it the same way twice"

according to wut? it's all about your intentions and obviously his are different than yours so answer his fuking question and get over your fuking bullshit

FUKING ENORMOUS BUNDLES OF STICKS

alright man here's a tip for you just copy and paste that one guitar track so you have a few different versions and mess around with them individually like maybe offset one track by a very small amount or put a bunch of reverb on one and eq it differently or whatever idk i'm not really knowledgeable regarding this stuff but i'm trying to offset the large bundle of sticksry going on in here so i hope this helps

JoshIsNumber3 08-01-2010 10:41 PM

its pretty awesome you're giving advice on something you don't know

Daily Routine 08-01-2010 10:46 PM

it's even more awesome you're not giving advice on something you know

Kuffuffled 08-01-2010 10:49 PM

lmao I like how I am told to double track when I don't want to

I'll try those things thanks brosef

I've double tracked before I just don't want to with this one
