Yes...I have the exact same snare minus the comic book wrapping.
They have a ton of bite live and still sound crisp and have great bite live. They like being tuned up to an A above middle C or even higher. Great feeling drum too. Only thing DW makes that I like.

OC hip?? Those of us who grew up in San Marino and South Pasadena think OC is pretty white trash. Riverside is cool. I used to play at some of the bar near the college back in the day...can't remember what the club names were but it was always a very cool crowd. Think one was called Jim & I and the other was the Trading Post or something like that.

I generally avoid Orange at all costs.

Riverside has some nice spots. I highly doubt those places are still around. Most of the places I used to play at a few years ago are gone.

I remember the old downtown area was pretty cool.
I played there mid 80s to mid 90s.

Old downtown is still pretty cool, unless you go towards UCR on university. Kinda trashy until right before you hit UCR.
