i hate all those bands too, but old cannibal corpse is where its at. tomb of the mutilated and eaten back to life are great dm albums. after the first 4 CC is dead to me.

masscows 09-15-2007 12:58 PM

Behemoth is one of my favorite bands -_-

Cannibal Corpse's early albums are good.

Nostalgia 09-15-2007 01:03 PM

There's a few good songs off Eaten Back to Life. Every other CC is terrible.

AA-12 09-15-2007 01:25 PM

He's a fellow Floridian too

EDIT: woooooo late

LifeInABox 09-15-2007 02:07 PM

Ey Rattle, can you upload Dark Medieval Times, Considered Dead, The Key, and Piece Of Time to mediafire for mah? You've maxed out all your computer authorizations.

Stoic 09-15-2007 02:50 PM
yeah theyre pretty cool/funny. the guitarist is the biggest slipknot fan but thinks he is an "elite metalhead" or something. hes basically dargon except he doesn't know his ****. i was wearing my nevermore shirt and he goes "NEVERMORE!' in some brutal voice. nevermore aren't death/brutal, and i know damn well hed never heard them he just tries to look cool.
 I would love to meet a guy like this!

I enjoy The Bleeding. I got the re-release version.

FatalEnergy 09-15-2007 03:19 PM

I like Butched At Birth the most. I like the Barnes stuff; after that I really don't care for them.

You don't like Corpsegrinder????

FatalEnergy 09-15-2007 03:22 PM

He was cool in Monstrosity, and Vile has a handful of good songs. CC with him just does nothing for me

Same here. I hate Corpsegrinder's vocals (with CC anyway).

or i could just send all those to you... (minus the key)

C.O.A. 09-15-2007 03:33 PM

i personally cannot stand chris barnes.

Dimmu Burger 09-15-2007 03:35 PM

I like them both, but I do have a softspot for Corpsegrinder for some reason.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 03:38 PM

What I'm saying is his vocals come across as weak in Cannibal Corpse and don't really fit the music, in my opinion. Barnes' voice, no matter how you talk it down, had a lot of balls to it, and gave the band a more "terrifying" (yeah I know, not really, shut up) sound. Corpsegrinder is too "quiet" in my opinion. At least in Cannibal Corpse. Don't get a bloody uterus over it.

It's not really Corpsegrinder it's the band as a whole.

It's just boring, and the riffage totally went downhill when Corpsegrinder came into the picture. They changed their guitar tone and whole approach to the music.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 03:40 PM

yeah the guitar tone is completely ****ing horrible.

Usually when a band tunes down like that it makes them sound sloppy as hell..

FatalEnergy 09-15-2007 03:42 PM

They used to have a very sharp tone at Eb and then they started playing in B or some **** and it sounds like a big blob.

C.O.A. 09-15-2007 03:44 PM

everybody knows that you have to tune to b flat to be brutal....

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 03:45 PM

Yep.

B is a horrible tuning. Well, some bands work it well, actually, but when a band establishes themselves while in a higher tuning and later on in their career tunes down like that, the result sounds horrid. Meh.
everybody knows that you have to tune to b flat to be brutal....
That's what the deathcore kiddies will tell you.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 03:46 PM

That's hilarious you said that seeing how they weren't really that sloppy with Barnes, but they got sloppy as all hell with Corpsegrinder.

D is where it's at.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 04:04 PM

D standard is my favorite tuning ever. And I will compromise at Drop D, which is what my band plays in (I know :( ).

Eliminator 09-15-2007 04:11 PM

that's what my guitar is tuned to right now

Dimmu Burger 09-15-2007 04:24 PM

I like standard tuning. I don't mind drop d but all that drop tuning gets on my nerves, I have to think a little more to know what note i'm playing.

Shred Danson 09-15-2007 04:31 PM

I dunno if this has been brought up yet, but:
Officially press release:

Legendary death metal outfit Deicide have begun work on their ninth studio album at Florida's Morrisound Studios, the follow-up to their 2006 Billboard charting album "The Stench of Redemption."

With a confirmed title of "Till Death Do Us Part," the record promises to be Deicide's most savage and aggressive to date. Drummer Steve Asheim has begun the process by laying down drum tracks on a set of tracks that retain all the high speed intensity of the last album, but throw in a few surprises along the way. Asheim himself has this to say on the process so far:

"The songs will have a very evil and chaotic nature to them and will include the extensive arrangements and riffage that made 'Stench...' so great."

Fans worried about recent stories concerning the demise of the band can rest easy according to Asheim.

"There's no mistaking...it's Deicide. It feels like a cross between 'Stench...' and 'Legion', and is definitely the next logical step for Deicide."

Once the music is down, the final stage will be for Glen Benton to contribute his unique vocal approach, with recordings scheduled for completion as early as November. "Till Death Us Do Part" is expected to be released early-2008 via Earache Records.

"We keep pushing what we do," concludes Asheim. "The guitars are even more sinister...the drums even more brutal. Deicide fans may be shocked at how fast this came around, but they're going to eat it up."
This has FAIL and HOMO written all over it.

FatalEnergy 09-15-2007 04:37 PM

Drop tunings are homosexual.

Standard and Eb ftw.
