I don't like obscure, foreign-sounding band names!

Surf 07-29-2007 06:30 PM

I will listen when you learn to punctuate!

RunAmokRampant 07-30-2007 01:46 AM

I just read one of many translations of Baudelaire's 'To the Reader'. What a charming young fellow.

I can punctuate AND my band isn't foreign sounding!

+rep and general appreciation for anyone who checks out my thread "vocalist question" and supplies help :)

Baudelaire is lol tbh

and I've already been to that thread. And I can't get to the festival because I'm working, sorry man. Good luck and stuff though.

Silly Mx is putting gaps in the links.

Not sure why. Just google 'Baudelaire' 'drunk' and 'merry' and it should come up.

RunAmokRampant 08-01-2007 04:27 PM

I've read his poem 'Get Drunk'. Quite amusing.

Some other beer poetry can be found here

Yeah. Bukowski's got loads as well.

"Play the Piano Drunk Like a Percussion Instrument Until the Fingers Begin to Bleed a Bit" is one of my favourite phrases for some reason.

Anyone read the Third Policeman? I'm re-reading it now, I love the flippant Irish surrealism of it.

TojesDolan 08-01-2007 05:46 PM

Get drunk!
Stay drunk!
On beer, virtue, poetry, whatever!”

Masterful.

Baudelaire died at a ripe age of 45 from asphasia or some kind of crap like that. Syphilis related I think. Died knowing he was never bored though as boredom is the greatest sin of all according to the decadents.

TojesDolan 08-05-2007 04:10 PM

Sup guys, I'm sorry I haven't been so active as of lately but I've been to busy with other aspects of my life... I'll try from now on to give more feedback on your pieces. :(

Surf 08-05-2007 06:52 PM

I've done some writing for the first time in ages.

And its about religion again, so I guess I'll post it when I'm happy or something.

That's all well and good but I bet he got bored of the searing pain in his penis brought on by the syphillis.

I wrote about my love life trying to remove the cheese by using interstellar similes. :|

Charlie Manson 08-06-2007 02:50 AM

tojes i really need to talk

TojesDolan 08-06-2007 02:53 AM

AIM's cool?

Charlie Manson 08-06-2007 02:54 AM

i dont have aim right now but how are u

TojesDolan 08-06-2007 02:58 AM

I hope that you're aware I'm going to erase this conversation later :p

But I'm OK. Slightly pissed at my lack of self-care when it comes to my sentimental capacities, especially with people who care about me. I was at the border of crying because I discovered how cold and shallow I am, not to mention careless about those who honestly care about me, but I think I learned from what I've lived through, and I think I finally understood what I'm seriously lacking of.

But disregard my stupid self-absorbed rant, how are you?

Charlie Manson 08-06-2007 02:58 AM

im lonely and i feel worthless because i havent had a job for 2 months

TojesDolan 08-06-2007 03:01 AM

I just quit my job and got an ipod but that just filled me materially, which is OK because that makes it easy to confront my sentimental lack.

I'm finding myself surrounded by more people who care about me, so I feel less lonely now than before. My girlfriend is a great support but I don't think I'm a good enough man for her, I think she needs a more stable person.

Charlie Manson 08-06-2007 03:02 AM

w/e tojes ur the man

why do u think they made u mod cuz YOU'RE THE MAN

i wish i had a girlfriend. some chubby hot slut wants me to go to an AA meeting with her tomorrow.... should i do it? i think she just is using that for an excuse as a date or something because she has a scene boyfriend aka gay

TojesDolan 08-06-2007 03:07 AM

haha, maybe you should go, I don't know. If you don't get some butt, at least you'll have a fun experience out of it.

TojesDolan 08-06-2007 03:12 AM

Hey I'll go now I'm slightly tired and my girl and I will go with a friend to farewell him because he's going back to uni; I hope things will be clearer in your life man, enjoy have fun peace out

Charlie Manson 08-06-2007 03:12 AM

Surf 08-06-2007 06:52 PM

At least you got yourself a girlfriend tojes, gg on that.

I'm lost as to what do to with this thing I've written, so I'll do a few crits and then post.

TojesDolan 08-06-2007 06:57 PM

I'll review it when I have a little bit more time, I guess.

I need to find time to do that stuff. :'(

I have a new non-challenge piece up. Kind of inspired by William Carlos Williams and Hugo Ball for some really weird reason.
