It's a Jam kind of day.

I've been listening to Daydream Nation a lot lately, and De-Loused in the Comatorium.
|
Lungfish - Pass and Stow
Futureheads - s/t
That's a good album. I like Sound in Time and Rainbows from Atoms aswell. |
High-Back Chairs - Of Two Minds
Olivia Tremor Control - ...Dusk At Cubist Castle |
High-Back Chairs - Of Two Minds
Olivia Tremor Control - ...Dusk At Cubist Castle
Another money album. It's an odd release for Dischord because it strides the line of power popish sort of stuff. |
School me on the High-Back Chairs. I've heard the name thrown around.
The album is great. High-Back Chairs are kind of like power pop with a dash of post-hardcore(weird combonation, but it works). In the past I've tried finding a backstory on them and didn't have much luck, but I think that Jeff Nelson was their drummer. They only released this and Curiosity & Relief(EP) which is a shame. I think you would like them. |

Correct, J Nelson was their drummer. |
HBC are a cool sounding band. I like them.
I listened to dEUS and Husker Du today. It was good stuff, much like donuts (with added sugar ofcourse). I think New day Rising is my favorite Husker Du album now. Oh, and about Neu!, well they're good, but i think of them as a poor man's Can. |
Well, there's some great moments on that album (first 4 minutes of Negativland, for instance). It's just not consistent enough.
But I prefer Can. And Amon Duul II, who get nowhere near enough love here. |
Yeah, i do like Neu, but yeah Can are much better, i think.
I'll check out Amon Duul II, who i've never heard before. i also need to look up Faust, another Kraut band. |
Yeah, I need to check out Faust too.
Back on topic - I just downloaded all the B-sides from Gentlemen, coz I'm a fanboy like that. There's some interesting stuff, but nothing too special. Oh, and I'm giving the DJ Muggs solo record another chance. It's better than I remember it being. And I just realized - not only does Greg Dulli guest on it, but it's on a remix of my favourite Twilight Singers song. |
I'm diggin Beck's Guero, it's better than i first thought, it's real cool.
Same here. Also dug Ziggy Stardust last night. |
Oh, and about Neu!, well they're good, but i think of them as a poor man's Can.
Haha, true. I like a couple of Neu! albums but Can is way better |
Yes, Nothing Lasts...But Nothing is Lost is great.
|
Knew you'd love it. :)
|
I just listened to some songs by 20 Minute Loop and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and I love them both.
|
Millencolin - Pennybridge Pioneers
Ruins - Tzomborgha muoljimbog? chittamirangaayo. fun fun |
Urge Overkill - Saturation
Suicide - Suicide |

Suicide - Suicide
The Suicide S/T is money my friend. |
Indeed it is. Both of their S/T's are, in fact.

Tis true. |
I just bought Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine today, I'm really digging it a lot.
|
Suicide - Suicide
I listened to this one once and decided it was trashbin material. |

I'd give it a relatively high rating, probably 4/5. To each his own, I guess. Since my last post I've been digging Slint's Spiderland. |
Now there's a record I can sink my teeth and angsty face into!
|
I'm listening to Nevermind for I guess the first time. Thought I'd played it before, but now it seems that's not true. I always hated In Utero, but this record seems to at least mildly rock and also seems to suck very rarely if at all.
|
Nevermind and In Utero don't do it for me. I guess I need to check out Bleach(I don' know why I haven't yet, seeing as it seems to get a pretty good amount of praise around here).
