The amount of relatively unknown music found in blogs is overwhelming and it makes me wonder if people even have time to listen to most, much less all of what everyone else posts.
I hear ya, for a few weeks there I was checking blogs out and downloaded around 40 albums via megaupload/rapidshare. Still haven't got around to much of them.

i downloaded their album off the album trading list, listened to the first song, sampled some of the other tracks, then deleted it

They sounded cool but I haven't checked them out. They seem like one of those bands who I could do without, regardless of whether they're any good or not.
also hey kyle i got parts & labor - mapmaker from your blog
Ah nice one, such a good album.

sexymuffin 07-16-2007 01:56 AM

parts and labor is annoying

br3ad_man 07-16-2007 05:55 AM

I've been meaning to check out Idaho for a while sexymuffin. What's their best release?

AlienEater 07-16-2007 06:41 AM

I like Pissed Jeans

Hedgedive 07-16-2007 07:47 AM

I am a cruton

Boilermaker 07-16-2007 09:23 AM

Pissed Jeans are cool. If someone likes the Jesus Lizard there is a 95% chance of liking them.

EDIT: OK, maybe 80%.

perriwinkle 07-16-2007 09:43 AM

umm then im in the 5%

Kyle 07-16-2007 10:11 AM

I think the Pissed Jeans is like a 6 out of 10. I liked it more at first but went off it.

I think Levitate is the masterpiece but there isn't a bad album to be found. Three Sheets to the Wind is probably the most immediately accessible, and has more of a rock edge than the others, but Alas and Hearts of Palm are both really chilled out and more classic 'slowcore' (albeit with added electronic textures and other stuff).

Bukowski 07-16-2007 02:43 PM

Someone upload an Idaho album.

I'm selling my ticket to see Slint in London on August 22nd. If any of you are (or can be) in London on that date and want the ticket, let me know. I'll sell it for £10, which is under half what I bought it for. What can I say, I'm a generous guy.

Zmev 07-16-2007 02:46 PM

I'll fly right over.

Interstate 07-16-2007 03:57 PM

I just booked my flight to Australia on 2nd August. I'm going to stay with my uncle for 3 weeks, I can't wait. The flight was quite expensive but I don't need to pay any accomodation fees or anything like that. I'm so excited, I've never been before and I can't wait.

If you had 2 I could probably get those off you?

I have reading Festival from the 24th and Sonic Youth on the 31st, that would be such a perfect couple of weeks.

Hedgedive 07-16-2007 04:43 PM

br3ad_man 07-17-2007 12:29 AM

Hell yes, Radio Birdman are touring again.

metalicajaymz 07-17-2007 12:33 AM

there were sweet Radio Birdman posters at Pitchfork but I only had enough money for a Mark Kozelek one

br3ad_man 07-17-2007 12:35 AM

One time I was at a venue to see my friend's band and there was a Mark Kozelek tour poster up and I got all excited and then I realised it was from 2004.

Liebensaft 07-17-2007 02:10 AM

That's like the Clinton/Gore campaign sticker on a traffic light post near a mall where I live.

bleep_bloop 07-17-2007 02:21 AM

obama/clinton 08 whoop whoop

Liebensaft 07-17-2007 02:51 AM

Hahahaha. If that happened, it'd be years before a democrat was in the White House, and many more years beyond that before a black man or a woman made it in.

wtf Clinton is probably the best president we've had in the last 25 years.

It's just the one ticket I have.

I'm selling because I'm seeing Sonic Youth on that date in Glasgow, and I'm seeing Slint in Glasgow anyway. But late August is going to be an amazing time for me as well - I just found out that Dinosaur Jr are playing on the 27th, so that's about 6 shows in the last 11 days of the month. And I have the last week of the month off work. Kickass.
Thanks dudes.

Let me know if you're going to be in Brisbane or the Gold Coast. :)
I'm gonna be staying in Victoria, Melbourne. I have no idea where that is in comparison to Brisbane or the Gold Coast

br3ad_man 07-17-2007 08:15 AM

Haha, well technically it's Melbourne, Victoria as Melbourne is the city and Victoria the state. It's a good few hours on a plane away from where I live, but imo Melbourne is the best city in Australia and definitely my favourite so you'll have a good time there. It's cold this time of year though.

Yeah I've heard it's pretty cold out there so I'm gonna have to wrap up well. I may be forced to do the plane journey without music because my PC refuses to reinstall I-tunes as Quicktime cannot be deleted or uninstalled for it to work properly again.

Basically my Ipod cannot be updated and it's hardly got anything on it. I have no idea how to get rid of Quicktime because it can't be uninstalled in the control panel either.

br3ad_man 07-17-2007 08:19 AM

That was happening to me for a while, I don't even remember what I did to make it work.

In any case, just bring a good book. :)
