This, in response to...
How the **** could you listen to that much in a week anyway?
This. I plug my iPod into my car as well. MTB is perfect driving music, and I had a lot of running around to do this past week. You really don't need to blow a gasket about it, it's just music scrobbling. |

My brother has that whole setup so when he leaves for college next year that car will be mine.
|
I use one of those cassette adapters in my car, it's very nice for playing my Ipod.

I had one, then I upgraded my stereo to include an aux. input. |
I use the FM transmitter for my ipod in the car.

I hear they have a tendency to crap out randomly. |
I'm in Skycamefalling's top listeners yet again, omg.
|
I don't think I'm in any band's top listeners.
|
I'm Nightsky (Silenius band) top listener.
Also lastFM is weird: I was listening to Wuthering Heights and because sometimes LFM doesn't scroble right I checked if it had done so and saw this: Scrobbled Woods Of Ypress - Land of Olden Glory (this is a Wuthering Heigts song). First time I noticed something like that. |
I am for Meat Snorkel..
http://www.myspace.com/meatsnorkel |
Oh man you like Meat Snorkel, blue? Nice.
|
um... the band, yes
Have you seen/do you like them too? The singer gave me their demo/EP first time I saw them, just a few months ago. |
Their vocalist uses Brismetal so I checked them out and liked it. Saw them a month or so ago with The Kidney Thieves. It was a good night.
|
Nice. I saw them opening for DLC, it was the first time in quite while that I have been surprised by a local band's creativity. The trombone/keyboardist was in this other band local band called Breakeven who also surprised me when opening for Reel Big Fish a few years ago.
I haven't heard The Kidney Thieves yet, but I gather it's similar in the unusual department. Have you seen Sub Inc yet? I've been wanting to see them for years now and have always missed the chance... |
Ahh k. Cool. I only listen to them through their myspace, as I don't have the demo.
And yeah, The Kidney Thieves have that same sort unusual sound. Very funky with some psychedelic rock influences. I'll hook you up with their EP if you like, though it's not really something to gauge their live show by. There's a couple of good bands in this vein about here at the moment anyway, with Sky Pi, City Chalk Outline and Hazards of Swimming Naked all also being worthy of mentions. I'll have to check Sub Inc out though, as I'm yet to hear them. |
Will look into those other bands, I've seen you mention Sky Pi a lot, but not the others. do you use soulseek?
|

Only when you're like right in the middle of a large city. I basically live in the sticks, 5 hours away from any big city, so it works fine for me. |
Anyone what determines when the 'Top Artists Overall' and 'Top Tracks Overall' charts update? Sometimes its daily, right now it hasn't been updated since the 28th.
|
Mine USUALLY updates once weekly, on Sunday.
|
omg new favorite artist omg
niraj chag omg |
Mine USUALLY updates once weekly, on Sunday.
Hmm, okay then. Yeh, for me, it'd usually update every few days. |
Your overall charts generally update every few days, but often there's the occasion where it doesn't update that often. Your weekly charts are supposed to update every Sunday, but sometimes last.fm sucks and waits till Monday to fully update.
|
Mine always updates on Monday.

|

|
But only 14 plays? You must be slipping, Jelle.
|
I'm still waiting for the new compilation to appear here.
|
There's a new compilation coming?
|
Yes. Of old BBC sessions.
It's been out for a while in the UK, but every time I ask for it in the record store they say 'soon'. |
I see. Weak that they haven't given a release date.
|
I'm trying to get it for free from a review site. =)
|
There's a good chap.
|
Therapy? is the only band Jel has gotten me into.
