Voodoo Rabbit 09-25-2005 01:48 PM

Had a band practice today.

It was OK, apart from some things, but *meh*...

I have to work in a library tomorrow, which I am slightly looking forward too...

Jezen 09-25-2005 02:00 PM

Poppi, check your mail.

poppinfresh 09-25-2005 02:01 PM

sweet man thanks a lot.

styler 09-25-2005 02:03 PM

Voodoo Rabbit 09-25-2005 02:13 PM

^Because, I find libraries fun...

I'm just 'into' books and stuff...

drumass04 09-25-2005 02:14 PM

Wooo, I just made a practice pad, it rocks! Exactly the same response as my snare :)

CombatWombat3 09-25-2005 02:57 PM

Ugh, I start theater next week for our school talent show, I'm the light designer and head light techie, which means a ****load of work. It's going to suck. Next weekend I spend from 6Am - 6PM at school on saturday, and then go in sunday to finish whatever I didnt on saturday. Then that entire week leading up to friday I'm working evry day after school for about 7 hours straight. But then it's homecoming, with my wonderful, wonderful, lady.

Speaking of her, I had a WONDERFUL hour and a half long bus ride with her on friday, for a school field trip. We talked the entier way there, and then she fell asleep on my shoulder on the way back (she's on the varsity soccer team, and they were playing a game in a town that was on the way home, so we dropped them off), so that meant i couldnt move a INCH or else I would wake her up. She eventually did wake up, and we held hadns the entire way to her game. Cute.
Cute.
*Pukes*...

:)...

CombatWombat3 09-25-2005 03:03 PM

hahahha, thanks for the encouragement. I think I'm going to wait for after homecoming to ask her out, I want to see how homecoming goes.

On a different subject, I'm chewing on a cooking knife right now...

drumass04 09-25-2005 03:08 PM

That doesn't sound to sensible.

I'm just starting to do the lighting for our school productions, the person who has done them for countless years is leaving for university soon, so I'm taking over. It's something I would quite like to do as a job, but that probably won't happen.

Are you 'in the business' or do you just do it as a hobby?

Jezen 09-25-2005 03:09 PM

Woah! Coincidence! I'm chewing on my combat knife! :D

Well, considering I'm just 15, I do it as a hobby. But I worked this summer with a professional theater doing lighting, and through that job I got offered another one this fall. I do it at my school a LOT, and in the community as well.

drumass04 09-25-2005 03:23 PM

Nice one, I'm 14. I'm hoping to go on work experience at the local theatre and then hopefully stay on during the summer. I'll be doing it for all the school productions, drama competition and music competition.

I hate sitting there listening to a piano with nothing to do for 5 minutes, but I suppose you've gotta have down side to everything. Playing about with all the stuff on the desk during the bands is fun though :)

Jezen 09-25-2005 03:31 PM

If anyone remembers me telling them about me hosing down that guy at IGF with a fire extuinguisher, im getting the movie now.

Win A Rabbit 09-25-2005 03:31 PM

combatwombat, i have a friend that does all the lighting and props and everything for the school, and she gets so stressed out when there's a big play coming up. she puts in 3-5 hours a day for almost 2 months leading up to the play, i don't know how she does it.

anyways, i was listening to some elton john, and then i realized that one of his songs is called "don't let the sun go down on me". is it just me, or when he says "don't let the sun go down on me", does the word "sun" remind you of the word "son" ??? if so, the lyrics take on a whole new meaning...

Jezen 09-25-2005 03:32 PM

Sic, that is just sick.

gastery6 09-25-2005 03:34 PM

that is absolutely funny

Ethan. 09-25-2005 03:36 PM

When I was younger, I knew he was gay and thought his lyrics said:
Hold me closer, it's time to dance, son...

But they are really:
Hold me closer, tiny dancer...

Jezen 09-25-2005 03:37 PM

Noooo! He went offline! ARG!

Jezen 09-25-2005 03:56 PM

So this is what I plan on buying very very soon. Maybe tomorrow after school.

Ethan. 09-25-2005 04:06 PM

What is it? A drum sound thing for electric sets?

Jezen 09-25-2005 04:11 PM

Exactly. If I buy it, I will build my own electronic drums, and set them up around my kit Akira Jimbo style.

I think I have an obsession with Akira. He's absolutely 1nsan3.

Ethan. 09-25-2005 04:14 PM

Sounds cool man. An electric kit would be awesome for me because now that school started, my family is always here when I want to play and they hate the volume.

Jezen 09-25-2005 04:15 PM

Ever considered building an e-kit?

RushHourSoul 09-25-2005 04:16 PM

if you have the time guys..

Ethan. 09-25-2005 04:27 PM

I haven't actually. Does it cost less? That's the only problem... money.

Jezen 09-25-2005 04:27 PM

It costs a tonne less.

Drum Phil 09-25-2005 04:31 PM

Can you not do it with triggers an practice pads/homemade pads?

Jezen 09-25-2005 04:32 PM

Thats all it is. Pads, triggers, cables, module.

Ethan. 09-25-2005 04:36 PM

How do you make homemade pads? Mouse pads or something?

Drum Phil 09-25-2005 04:37 PM

Thought so. I saw some guy on hear last year with some attatched to his acoustic. Cant remember who it was like.

Jezen 09-25-2005 05:01 PM

I plan to use PVC shells, mesh heads, and radioshack piezo transducers.

Loyton 09-25-2005 05:08 PM
now that my friend is a sandblasted carp of a lie. :D
eh im back from the dance, i partyed untill 5 in the morning, im STILL high, and i woke up at 3 today. I just had one of the ****ing largest ball trips of my life.

On a riding lawn mower....listening to death cab for cutie. I had like fatty isolation headphones on so i couldnt hear anything and the sun was a spotlight on me... the mower was kicking up grass and dust particles and they where suspended in the light.... and the music... and the movment...

and everything kinda froze and i thought... here in my own mortality i feel immortal in essense.

Jezen 09-25-2005 05:15 PM

What a beautiful line Loyton.

Well anyway, it's 12:14 AM on a school night. I have a tonne of homework to do. Any chance of doin it? No.
I am markin up my 12" snare for drilling. Hopefully I can get it drilled today, and then order the parts I need, then see how much she goes for I suppose.

Loyton 09-25-2005 05:28 PM
