Cannibal Corpse started in NY, but moved down there. Death is from Flordia too, as well as is Atheist. Florida is like where DM broke out. But the first one ever was from Cali

Rattlehead 04-13-2006 04:08 AM

i know trivium are from florida, but they aren't realy death metal.

all the early albums are my favourite. then take cryptic writings, hidden treasures, CtE, TSHF, TWNAH, youth. and they are my less loved albums. the four earlier albums, i hold in reverance. the others, i just enjoy on a lower level.

Jev 04-13-2006 04:13 AM

Same here I guess. There isn't a Megadeth album that I don't like. I like them all, just some less than others.

Rattlehead 04-13-2006 04:18 AM

yea exactly:chug:

only i dont ave risk... i was told that it was like the Load(tallica) of megadeth... should i buy?

Jev 04-13-2006 04:19 AM

I don't own Risk yet :p

But from what I've heard from it, it's okay.

Bazarov 04-13-2006 01:54 PM

I own Risk, and I'll say it's the worst Megadeth CD's ever.

Lord Abortion 04-13-2006 03:11 PM

I don't have it...unless it comes to me for free I don't know if I ever will.

Aw3someman 04-13-2006 04:58 PM
Pfft, those bands suck. America should just give Florida back to Spain.
hey u know... we have all those hot chicks from Spring Break and a bunch of hot chicks in general :naughty:

and for bands: Jim Morrison was from around here, Savatage, Iced Earth, Kamelot... you know the good kind of music

Bazarov 04-13-2006 05:00 PM

I'm just jealous because I never get to go to Miami over spring break like all my other friends.

Jev 04-14-2006 05:45 AM
I don't have it...unless it comes to me for free I don't know if I ever will.
I don't know if I'll ever buy it either to be honest.

I'm lazy.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-14-2006 08:38 PM

I can't see myself ever buying Risk either.
arent a bunch of death metal bands from florida. i know that six feet under hate eternal and deicide are from there. what others are?
Morbid Angel
Obituary
Death
Malevolent Creation
Cannibal Corpse
Atheist
Massacre
Cynic

among others...

Jev 04-15-2006 04:56 AM

Wow I was just reading up on Nick Menza and he has a pretty interesting background...
He was born in Germany and his dad was the guy who play the Saxaphone in the Pink Panther tune. He started playing drums at 2 and his first band was with Randy Rhoads' sister, Kelly Rhoads.

Lord Abortion 04-16-2006 03:53 AM

That's wierd...

Discuss Megadeth songs covered by other bands.

Jev 04-16-2006 05:07 AM

I was disappointed by Nightwish's cover of SOD. I was expecting Tarja to sing it.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-16-2006 05:15 AM
I always tought Death were from California.
Nah, although I think they were based there for a short time in either '85 or '86.

Lord Abortion 04-16-2006 05:42 AM

I thought it was excellent...cause Marco/Taumas(I'm not sure who sang it) is great on it.

Jev 04-16-2006 05:43 AM

I think it's Marco.

Come to think of it... I don't know any other Megadeth covers.

Mother 04-16-2006 05:51 AM

Norther - Torando of souls

I which i liked ... except for the keeyboard solo.

BTW

ATTN Rattlehead - My Avatar >> Your Avatar :-)

Jev 04-16-2006 05:51 AM

Ah. I haven't heard that one.

Lord Abortion 04-16-2006 05:58 AM

Nor have I

Apocalyptic Raids 04-16-2006 06:07 AM

Me neither.

Mother 04-16-2006 06:52 AM

I can send it to yall if you want.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-16-2006 06:56 AM

nah...

I don't really care for Norther.

Neoteric 04-16-2006 06:57 AM

I ain't superstitious, when a black cat crosses my path

Apocalyptic Raids 04-16-2006 06:57 AM

indeed.

Aw3someman 04-16-2006 09:30 AM

hmm... I was thinking. What if Marty or Dave were in G3? That would rock.

Apocalyptic Raids 04-16-2006 09:38 AM

I can imagine Marty, but Dave wouldn't really fit in.

Aw3someman 04-16-2006 09:40 AM

yeah... he's good but not good enough. Maybe Chris?

Jev 04-16-2006 01:06 PM

I dunno I don't see Poland doing it.
Dave wouldn't do it because he hasn't got any solo albums which are him showing off his guitar skills.

I really wish Becker could do it though :(

Aw3someman 04-16-2006 01:54 PM

I think Chris could do it. Isn't this year Paul Gilbert, Vai, and the third is unknown as of yet

edit. Jk it isn't Gilbert. Gilbert's doing a tribute to the Who in the Summer so it can't be him.

Jev 04-16-2006 01:58 PM

I thought Vai and Satriani always do it.

Hourglass 04-16-2006 02:54 PM

I'd love to see Gilmour in it.

classicrockman 04-16-2006 03:07 PM
I thought Vai and Satriani always do it.
They do. My guess is that this year will be Michael Romeo, Satch and Vai. I heard that John5 is a canadate...

Jev 04-16-2006 03:54 PM

John5?
Please god no.

classicrockman 04-16-2006 04:34 PM
John5?
Please god no.
Yeah I know. He's nothing like Joe or Steve.

demoncleaner420 04-16-2006 06:03 PM

His solo album's pretty good . Some good guitar work, no Manson-esque stuff.. :thumb:
Honestly, I wouldn't mind to see John 5 on there. I don't know if he'd fit in with Vai and Satch though...
Isn't John 5 touring with Rob Zombie anyway?

Aw3someman 04-16-2006 07:35 PM

I would love to see Paul Gilbert do it. Marty or Paul. I'm gonna try and go no matter who's there. The one w/ Yngwie was amazing.

Jev 04-17-2006 04:36 AM

Yeah I'd love to see it with Marty.
He'd fit right in. And I prefer his stuff to pretty much anyone who's been in G3 (except a couple like Petrucci).

Neoteric 04-17-2006 06:49 AM

This thread's a bit slow.
