I'm becoming redundant:
1 Pulp 93 2 Billy Bragg 92 3 Weezer 76 4 R.E.M. 69 5 The Smiths 66 6 Sufjan Stevens 57 7 Frank Sinatra 53 7 U2 53 9 Wilco 52 10 Franz Ferdinand 48 Pulp just edged out Moz as my second most listened artist. Wow. edit: it isn't accurate at all though. I know for a fact I listened to my entire Blur discography last night which is over a 100 songs at least, yet they didn't even show up on my chart. Unless they stop calculating on Saturday night or something. |
Elliott Smith, lots of Elliott Smith.
Good stuff. i just listened to Johnny Cash - Unchained. Not his best obviously, but it's still great. |
Thelonious Monk - Genius of Modern Music, Volume 1
Richard Hell & the Voidoids - Blank Generation |
I listened to Funeral again in the hopes it might have grown on me, but if anything it made me want to rate it even lower.
To lift my spirits after this disappointment, I listened to Wire - Pink Flag and Rob Dougan - Furious Angels; both albums I should really listen to more. And since then I've been listening to Brutal Truth for the first time in a while (Extreme Conditions Demand Extreme Responses and Need To Control). |
Rage Against The Machine - S/T
Explosions In The Sky - The Earth Is Not A Cold Dead Place |

I'll be at that for sure. I went to pick up The Craft yesterday after work, since I was told it would be in the store then, but no such luck. So I just picked up another Tom Waits album instead. Closing Time, it's great. Also listened to Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique for the second time and it really is a wonderful album. |

You know what would be really great, is if people described the stuff they're into. Because just mentioning a band name doesn't make me want to check them out. But a persuasive paragraph will.

It's not the American way to take time in doing something, we're all about posting fast and getting it done. |
or just check out a review on allmusic for them
I do, to corroborate your description. If you don't bother, I don't bother. |

I agree. It could actually make posting here worthwhile. |

I do that fairly frequently, unless it's a band I know everyone here is acquainted with. |
Death Cab For Cutie - Transalanticism
Between the Buried and Me - Alaska Herbie Hancock - Empyrean Isles |
Well of course, there is no need to sell the Beatles.

So far today:
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures The Fiery Furnaces - Rehearsing My Choir and still Supersilent - 5 (AMG - Artist Album) |

For me, seemingly "interesting" band names would suffice. |

I like Idaho because they have that great kind of suave/dangerous mood to them, sort of like the Afghan Whigs. They're tough to describe; just kind of laid-back but loud indie rock. Mike Jones is a rapper and "Still Tippin'" is a great song. The Promise Ring is a really catchy power-pop band from the whole second-wave emo thing. |
