Nice. When I get sad, I stop being sad, and be awesome instead. True story.

I was introduced to it a few weeks back and really like it.
The only reason I've heard of it is because, for some reason, Facebook really wants me to add neil patrick harris..... o.O Btw, squig, I've heard situps can sorta mess your back up (strains hip flexor muscle IIRC, from what I've heard)... thoughts? You seem to know your **** about these sortsa things. |
I've heard the same, situps aren't good for you. You're better off doing leg raises while being suspended, or crunches which only involves your abs
BUT IM NOT EXPERT |
Sit ups are a pretty ineffective exercise anyway, but yeah, most people throw their shoulders up and push their head forward putting a lot of strain on their lower back. And most people end up using their legs too, never isolating their core.
There's loads of better exercises for your core than sit ups. Sit ups are one of those exercises for people that are like "yeah man i got for runs and do sit ups and press ups yeah i dont wanna get massive im not a bodybuilder blah blah" imo. |
I used to do alot of situps at football practise when i was younger, and what we called 6 Inches ( i dont actually know what its called ). Fun times.
|
Exactly, complete waste of time.
|
Just do what Scooby1961 says or does and you'll be fine :-D

what's a good alternative to situps then?
Need to build up core stability at the mo |

Would be cool if they made Vibram five fingers that actually look like that.
|
Aye I know, they look disturbingly realistic.
By the way, everyone has different hangover cures, what are yours? Mine is a fried egg sandwich. Just got up, no eggs. Need to get shower and changed to go to shop. This is not how I saw my day going. |
I just got back from the USA, stayed awake for 30 hours, slept for 11. Gonna get a decent nights sleep tonight and hopefully be kosher for work on monday.
I want to take up a fighting sport, suggestions? ib4 squiggs says boxing. The 'it's awesome cool' part of me wants to do krav maga, but in reality I don't imagine it's all that good. Anything that is used in movies because it looks great can't be all that efficient. |

And if I'm feeling up to it I'll make one of my Fat Baps, which is bacon, sausage, mushrooms and an egg all fried in the same grease, then fry the bread in the left over grease then chuck some cheese on it then microwave it. God damn that's made me hungry.
I just got back from the USA, stayed awake for 30 hours, slept for 11. It depends on if you prefer more striking or more grappling. For grappling Aikido is neat if you want to throw people into sweet locks and wreak havoc on their joints. |
i only had like 7 hrs sleep lat night, fck that

Every martial artist I've spoke to said the only thing they can't defend against is a boxer's hook. A boxing stance is a great fighting style as well, in my opinion.
P.s. the talk of weights etc. has made me realise I've become as weak as feck, so I'm getting back into doing stuff, slowly. I reckon I'll do it like this: day 1 - arms (bi+tri) day 2 - chest day 3 - shoulders day 4 - back day 5 - run (cardio/fat burn) day 6 - rest ('crunches' either every day or every other day) So it's a 6-day programme. Every other week I might have 2 days rest, depending on how I feel. Just thought I'd share that. |

Training bis and tris on the same day is stupid given theyre antagonistic. And theyre a tiny body part they dont need their own day. Chest day after triceps the day before lol. And you're really targeting specific areas of your body, to be getting back into things you should really be thinking bigger. What exercises are you gonna be using on there days? |
