I was sitting in a McDonald's when it happened. The chairs were all rocking slightly. I looked outside, and the flagpole to my left was bending slightly more than it should have been for the wind that was blowing at the time. I've been in (and slept through) earthquakes before) and thought it could have been one, but chalked it up to a bus passing through the intersection.

I tried to text a friend but my phone was on the fritz when it came to sending messages.

Or so I thought.

I got a frantic text message from my girlfriend asking if I was okay -- There had been an earthquake in Virginia that was felt as far away as Massachusetts. She was closer to the epicenter in south central New Jersey at the time.

I calmed her down. Explained I'd seen worse.

I looked west toward the sun beginning its descent in the sky.






And that's where I was on August 23rd children.

Yah that was a fun round, people on that server kinda suck though I'm playing on my laptop with my parents shitty internet and was dominating everyone on the map.

yeah well it was getting to the point where 10 seconds into the match before you could even get to that middle control point the enemy had set up 4 or 5 mini-sentries with everyone else hovering around, pretty much just blowing you back into submission trying to frantically protect your base

it was fun but fuck was it brutal

I don't think I was lagging that bad just wasn't as fluid of a game experience, probably has more to do with my laptop.

thing is if your connection lags I don't think it affects anyone else, it just makes your character model appear to stutter a lot

your ping was fine so no skin off my nose

and it lags the server thats why you can get booted for high pings

ur mom gives me a high ping
