Right. I would still recommend at least a download.

S.O.D are classic. What's with the drumming in Milk, is it snare rolls or actual fast blastbeats?
Those be blastbeats.

I'm thinking of doing another review, either Revenant's "Prophecies of a Dying World" or Torture Squad's "Pandemonium".

RCA 01-21-2005 05:00 PM

Alright, here's the link to my review of Revenant's "Prophecies Of A Dying World"

http://www.musicianforums.com/sputnik/album.php?reviewid=1687&genreid=12

Instead of doing the track by track review, I went with a pros and cons approach because I feel I can review the actual music better.

Enjoy.

Thanks!

From the looks of your avatar and usertitle, you should review Persecution Mania. Always helps to review an album you know well. :thumb:

metal-militia 01-21-2005 05:54 PM

ARGH

I was reviewing Morbid Saint but IE messed up and i lost it all. I can't be bothered to do it again now, but i'll do it within the nest few days.

Does anyone here listen to Laaz Rockit? They are a decent band but the only problem is i can't get hold of any of thier CD's.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-21-2005 06:10 PM

I've heard a live track of them once, but i forget what it was called? They sounded ok. Laaz Rockit sounds like a glam name but

RCA 01-21-2005 06:11 PM

Laaz Rockit is indeed a good thrash band, they have some extremely catchy material in their catalog.

metal-militia 01-21-2005 06:12 PM

I like Annihilation Principle the best.

I alsp like thier cover of "Holliday in Cambodia"

MoX_KIll 01-21-2005 06:43 PM

What do we do if we wanna Join?
Just change our status?

metal-militia 01-21-2005 06:59 PM

No

You must hear Dark Angels "Darkness Descends" before you can join

ForiegnPenguin 01-21-2005 07:04 PM

Hahahaha. And Coroner, Overkill, Destruction, Sodom, Death Angel, Kreator and Exodus.(the list could go on)

metal-militia 01-21-2005 07:45 PM

what are you talking about?

Have you never read the first page?

Yeah, Benante was the first drummer to ever record Blastbeats according to legend. Now! get on with doing the Torture Squad album. You can be our personal review machine.

NP: Megadeth - Chosen Ones

Jeez, well I guess you learn something new each day :)
I've always thought Benate was a great drummer, after all those years he's still as good today.

N.P. Sepultura - Primitive Future (note the kick ass solo which sounds almost classical :thumb: )

ThrashMaster27 01-22-2005 03:30 AM

Where's the Corporal? he hates Benante.

Yeah, I think he's excellent. Easily one of the best in Thrash, to my knowledge. There's too many Thrash bands and too many ****ing drummers to check out for my liking.

Do you mean Pandemonium? It's been reviewed already.

RCA: I'll go look at your review of PoaDW now.

Benante is indeed a good drummer, probably the best of the big 4 although Lombardo gives him some competition.

superpeer 01-22-2005 04:49 PM

Picked up 'Testament - The Gathering' today. :)

Lombardo on Drums. :)

ForiegnPenguin 01-22-2005 05:02 PM

How is that album?

I think Lombardo is one of the best thrash drummers. (Not including Hoglan or Christy if he counts)

metal-militia 01-22-2005 05:19 PM

I've never really got into later Testament. As a band I think they are very overated, and only have 1 really good album (Legacy).

Have you heard Low? It's pretty good for a Testament release.

NP: Vio-lence - Kill On Command

metal-militia 01-22-2005 05:41 PM

I dont think iv'e heard anything off Low. Thanks for the recomendation :)

It's good to see I'm remembered. ;)

So we all know that Siege had recorded blastbeats before Benante ever did, right Thrashmaster?

So thrash eh... Engorged's new album is chalked full of thrash riffs. Everybody go buy it.

Never heard any of their material so I couldn't comment on that. I said according to legend, but you probably have bands like Repulsion doing it before S.O.D. ever did aswell.

Apocalyptic Raids 01-22-2005 11:53 PM

I thought Napalm Death were the first to use Blastbeats?

metal-militia 01-23-2005 06:25 AM
