Killing Is My Business, So Far So Good So What? and Countdown To Extinction
|
I'm just getting into Megadeth and have Rust and Peace sells, but I dunno what else I should get to really experience the best.
I'm guessing Killing is our business, but any others?
get the new one its good |
Blackmail The Universe is good yeah.
Get it after getting So Far So Good So What. |
Avoid "So Far, So Good, So What!" for the mean time and get "Countdown To Extinction". If you dig that then get "Youthanasia" and if you become a fan then get SFSGSW. That record was so hard to get into.
Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:
"I spent the last few days tracking with Glen [Drover, guitar] and Shawn [Drover, drums], and it is the coolest thing to see them be a part of it for real now. And yesterday especially, was an interesting guitar day, when I witnessed the moment the songs went from an idea in my head to Glen getting it. And he is such a great player that each song immediately comes to life as soon as he played on it. "Got some good news to report coming up this week and I wanted to personally thank every one of you that helped our new DVD 'The Arsenal Of Megadeth' debut at #6 in America. "This is going to be a great year!" Right after Dave's announcement has been posted, Megadeth drummer Shawn Drover has made a little addition to his band's mainman words: "Just returned from the LA tracking trip, and I must say that work on the new studio album is moving along at a very good and productive pace. Glen [Drover, guitar] worked very long hours for four days straight, but the results were certainly worth the borderline delerium that was slowly starting to creep in to Glen's melon (which is always mildly amusing for me to watch -- not so much fun to partake in though). My turn is approaching quickly so I think I will retract from any further comments "Some cool things are heading my way in relation to the studio/drum recordings, but I won't divulge this infomation until it actually does happen -- if and when it does indeed happen. Believe me, it is very kick-***! "All of us are indeed in good spirits and are looking forword to making the best record we can." Megadeth's appearance at this year's Desert Rock 2006 festival on March 16 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates marked their debut performance with new bassist James Lomenzo, who has previously played with Black Label Society and White Lion, among others. Lomenzo joined Megadeth as the replacement for James MacDonough (ex-Iced Earth), who was fired from the group on February 10, 2006 due to "personal differences."
Meh, didn't know if anyone would see this. God **** indeed  |
Yeah I heard they're recording. Can't wait :D

Rattlehead makes KIMB brilliant.
|
Amen. I could listen to that song for hours on end.
|
Pfft, you got it all wrong.
Mustaine makes KIMB brilliant  |
The riffs in Loved To Deth make me orgasm.
Edit: NP: Loved To Deth Yep just as I thought, I need to pants. |
Rattlehead makes KIMB brilliant.
yea yea, i love the whole album, such a brilliant debut. Rattlhead is my msn name and my name for other forums. i asked to have my name changed to it at one point in the "come her for account changes/merges" thread, but it hasn't happened. |

He just takes a while. Chosen Ones is my favourite on that album. |
Chosen Ones is also my favourite off KIMB.
|
The Skull Beneath the Skin is my favorite off KIMB. It's an under rated album, it's hardly ever mentioned.
|
The riffage in that song is quite good. Though, I still like Looking Down The Cross more than any other song on that album. And I'm sure this will change, seeing that every song on that album has been my favorite at one time or another.
|
I still like Looking Down The Cross more than any other song on that album.
Yeah. |
Oh yes, that song is great. Best part of it after the first verse. That thing going on with guitars. It's great.
Rattlehead makes KIMB brilliant.
 I know you aren't a fan of thrash, or is that starting to change now? |
I think Ollie has always liked Megadeth.
|
Yeah Ollie's been a reg in here for ages.
|
Yeah, Megadeth are the only thrash band I consistantly love.
Dekapitator and so on too. I like some of Anthrax, Slayer and Metallica's stuff, and I am getting slowly into more heavy thrash styles. |

I really like the beginning to that song. But My favorite is Looking Down the Cross |
With KIMB I can't chose a favourite. I think i can but end up chosing half the album.
|
I think Ollie has always liked Megadeth.
Yes, I know that, but I thought he only liked them from Countdown and upwards.
Yeah, Megadeth are the only thrash band I consistantly love. Dekapitator and so on too. |
Out of topic... When was the Holy wars version with Chris Poland recorded?
I wasn't aware there was one. wait. is it the new one on the greatest hits cd? |
Are you talking about the demo?
I think that's late 80's. I'll check in the booklet. |
Yeahm the demo one. It sounds pretty old and the Poland guitar solos arent as good as the Friedman solos.
