I've seen them live before, they're pretty cool.
I've been listening to Sonic Youth and GY!BE. Nothing new. |
I'm listening to Shpongle for the first time right now. It reminds me of the soundtrack to Metroid Prime. I like it alot.

Television - Marquee Moon Led Zeppelin - Houses of the Holy (its a rainy/cloudy day and its almost perfect for HotH) Morphine - Cure For Pain Dynamite Hack - "Boys In the Hood" has been stuck in my head all day today, for some reason. |

Fugazi - 13 Songs
I'm digging that at this very second. |
Hum - Downward is Heavenward
That's an awesome album. I have Zappa to thank for ever mentioning them because I would have no clue they existed (I don't even recognize their one hit "Stars" even though I apparently should). "Coming Home" and "The Scientists" are some of my favorites on the album. |
Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
I'm trying to get tickets to see them live. *crosses fingers* |
Make sure you do, they put on a fun show.
So I hear. I'm working out if I can afford it right now. |
"Stars" is a great song but I haven't heard anything else on the album it's from. I should check it out.
What really sucks is that Switchfoot just came out with a new single called "Stars," and it has a very spacey feel to it that owes so much to HUM that it's practically plagiarism  |
Look at you , waltzing in here with your big avatar.
to keep this relevant, Cat Power-Moon Pix |
Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass
The Left Banke Broken Social Scene (but not the new one) I need to scrape together some cash so I can buy the twenty billion albums that came out/are coming out recently that I'm interested in. Also, the Left Banke's "I Haven't Got the Nerve" is such an incredibly awesome song. |
Detroit Cobras
Frog Eyes Oceansize I'm off to bed now. Peace. |
I need to hear the new BSS sometime soon.
|
Primal Scream
X Faith No More(bought Angel Dust for $6+tax) |
Morrissey - Your Arsenal
"Tomorrow" is a really great song.
yeah I didn't think anyone liked him. That's a great album. |
Pink Floyd - Meddle
Underworld - Dubnobasswithmyheadman Neu! - Neu! |
It's no longer cool to like Pink Floyd in here Zappa.
|
Bear Vs. Shark- Terrorhawk
John Frusciante- Shadows Collide With People Radiohead- The Bends and on a whim I picked up the new Broken Social Scene cd/ep (whatever it is) and I must say I am very pleased with it. |
here's some bands I've been listening to lately with some good songs from each
The Bravery- "Fearless" "Unconditional" "An Honest Mistake" Queens of the Stone Age "No One Knows" "Go With The Flow" "The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret" "Little Sister" Interpol- "Obstacle 1" "PDA" Box Car Racer- "I Feel So" "All Systems Go" just to name a few |
I'm hugely into a band I discovered called Lake Trout, and I just bought their CD Not Them, You today. I was surprised to find it at Best Buy, considering I only know them because a friend of mine from school has a cousin in the band and he showed me their Myspace. They actually have a really mature and professional sound, especially for an Indie band... they have a great retro feel that still sounds like an advancement and a future... it's great "intellectual" rock. Very immersive stuff, but often laced with a great pop sensibility and an excellent cover of "Street Fighting Man". I love it.
