well yes, this is true, but that's where the bulk of the cost on a normal E-kit is anyway.

converting acoustics is still a slight bit cheaper than going all-out. (plus, the sizes are more comfy, i find)

rep means virtually nothing, other than "such and such poster is a good poster" vs "such and such poster is a noob"

however i find it an unfair system, since i have 11 pts, and i think most of MXDP will agree that i'm not a noob at all... and that i'm usually pretty easy to get along with as well as pretty helpful.
