I could always split releases up between two or more zips I suppose.

Got new strings for my electric today, beautiful. Acoustic and bass, you are next.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 06-04-2009 04:05 AM

i ordered strings for my 6 string bass today.

i don't know how much they're going to cost. :|

it sucks bass strings cost lots. i would rather pay $20 every month (i break guitar strings like crazy) than $80 every 3 (i like changing bass strings after 3 or so months)

gaslight 06-04-2009 04:15 AM

I don't mind paying $100 for Elixirs because they typically last me over a year.

I'm going to try out some DR Lo-Riders / Hi-Beams soon though, they're not coated but I want to see what their sound is like.

horseypie 06-04-2009 04:27 AM

does anyone else read the maths/physics forums on xkcd? i feel like a massive nerdo doing so :S

gaslight 06-04-2009 04:33 AM

Nah I don't. I wouldn't understand enough of it to make it worthwhile, I'm too dumb.

horseypie 06-04-2009 04:49 AM

i vaguely understand some stuff they talk about, but other bits are way beyond me

i just like the thread they have about comical exam answers they gave, like some guy worked out the time a diver was in freefall and got 15 seconds, or 1km.

gaslight 06-04-2009 04:55 AM

Oh I love stuff with joke exam answers .

gaslight 06-04-2009 05:42 AM

You'd wanna be making a good living out of those skills after all the time it would take to get that good.

Peep Show in 10 minutes on ABC2 :D.

I_WEAR_RED_PANTS 06-04-2009 07:57 AM

Wishing there was anything good on foxtel to watch. Gonna trim the ends off my new guitar strings and give them another stretching. Hoping to break this puppy in soon.

I used to do gymnastics in school. You'd be suprised to know it helped my rugby playing immensely.

Meatplow 06-04-2009 09:56 PM

****, windows 7 is fast

Aaron 06-04-2009 10:39 PM

Is it good?

Meatplow 06-04-2009 11:21 PM

its doing good business for me so far, it is extremely quick, installed my modem and had the net running instantly without even asking for the drivers. it's getting a lot of rave reviews saying Microsoft has finally made a worthwhile OS at least :p

horseypie 06-05-2009 12:42 AM

i went to a mates web design lecture the other day for kicks and the lecturer was saying 7 was originally going to be based on a zoom interface, so like instead of having the screen as just an x-y plane as such they were gunna add a 3rd dimension so you could zoom into the screen, but they found it made things heaps ridic hard. their reasoning was that it was hard enough sometimes to find stuff on the desktop, the people that had used it got heaps disoriented and couldnt find their way back when zooming haha

Nah that's exactly what I'd expect being a bit of a rugby head. Anything to do with flexibility, agility, endurance or strength will boost someone's game.

yeah could imagine my old man dealing with that

i was once on the phone with him once for 2 hours trying to resize a window in vista so he could select an icon

gaslight 06-05-2009 12:57 AM

I think some people are missing a gene that allows for the intuitive use of computers.

Meatplow 06-05-2009 01:02 AM

It seems to be a general apathy, every time he gets on a computer he whinges and moans and carries on how "people my age don't use computers" and "it's all french to me". I have no sympathy for people who are unwilling to learn esp. if they want to use these skills.

He bought himself a laptop and signed up to some dodgy looking mail order bride website then he took off over to the Philippines for like 3 months and I haven't seen him since. :/

gaslight 06-05-2009 01:05 AM

(I'm willing to bet that "thankyou for posting" has never existed on any forum ever. Maybe on Christian forums or something.)

Eh... does the full stop go after the final bracket or before it?
Brackets

Use round brackets for most purposes, including brackets within brackets. Use square brackets when making an insert of your own in a quote (to indicate that they are your words, not those of the speaker).
If brackets open in the middle of a sentence and close before the end of the sentence, the full stop comes after the closing bracket. Where a sentence is entirely in parenthesis, the full stop comes inside the second bracket.
and thanks for that haz :D

gaslight 06-05-2009 03:53 AM

Well done sir.

Awesome day of rugby tomorrow. Absolutely nothing to watch on tele tonight though.

Unless you count John Mayer's piss-weak cover of California Dreaming on Conan right now.

Even Steve and Pino can't save you this time.
