I would recommend you buy "abbey road" because it is such a beautiful album all together, the songs are like crystal! ( whatever that means ) lol and there are quite a lot of well known songs on it too.
I for some reasons relly like the little riff on the " sun king"

Leper 05-27-2006 11:12 PM

I'd also say get all of them, but Rubber Soul is probably the best one to start with.

Hey stadium arcadia, I don't think this thread is big enough for the two of us.:p

Seriously though, change your avatar.

Yeah, that and Revolver would probably be the best Beatles' starter albums. Abbey Road is also a good pick.
yeah, I don't know what I was thinking!!

Leper 05-30-2006 01:04 AM

Yeah really, what were you thinking.

Well I haven't listened to the Beatles in a while. Isn't that odd. Actually most of my airtime recently has been taken up by the Who.

gmoneyguy 05-30-2006 01:19 AM

The Beatles got 93 listens this week according to my last.fm.

blue3 05-30-2006 11:36 PM

Only 10 plays for me. But overall, The Beatles are my top artist with
1675 plays.

gmoneyguy 05-31-2006 12:21 AM

There are my overall number one with 430.

BludgeonySteve 05-31-2006 09:59 PM

What are you all talking about? It sounds cool.

BraveUlysses 05-31-2006 10:04 PM

www.last.fm

It tracks what you listen to on your computer. At the end of the week it gives you your weekly totals and it also keeps overall charts of your top artists and tracks. Pretty cool.

The Beatles weren't on my charts this week . Usually they're at the top. Overall, they're in 1st with 492 listens. The Who are in a distant second at 336.

magicbus 05-31-2006 10:26 PM

The Beatles are my top Last.fm artist with 1905 plays. Next is Pink Floyd, at 1112.

Reigning supreme!

Incense and Peppermints 05-31-2006 10:27 PM

The Beatles somehow make it to my 8th spot with 548 listens.

Faggots.

RIP Billy Preston
RIP Billy Preston
Yes, we're all gonna miss Billy. He was a great keyboardist, and played in some great songs with The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Bron-Yr-Aur 06-08-2006 06:41 PM

I love the Beatles. And Billy Preston. Word.

zabbit82 06-10-2006 07:58 PM

He had the coolest 'fro and wide toothed smile.

Amazing keyboardist he was. Especaily on Exile On Mainstreet. RIP Billy.

robo2448 06-12-2006 02:41 PM

I'm listening to Let it Be now for the first time in a while. Such a good album. Billy really saved this album. He pulled The Beatles together so they could make a great album, even when they hated each other too much to look at each other. But he kept them together.

Haven't been on the forums for a while...but anyways I wanted to join in on the last fm discussion!

Last week I didn't listen to any beatles, but Paul McCartney was number 5 with 8 listens haha, my number one was Megadeth with 41 listens. But the Beatles are my overall with 623 followed by The Counting Crows and Big Star.

And a question about Billy did he actually write the song You Are So Beautiful or did he just cover it?

He wrote it for Joe Cocker to sing.

BludgeonySteve 06-14-2006 09:09 PM

What a cool guy. Easily one of the best fros in music.

robo2448 06-15-2006 04:33 PM

I almost bought a cd by him the other day but didn't because it didn't have any of his well-known hits on it (That's the Way God Planned It, Will It Go Around In Circles, You Are So Beautiful...). Judging from the samples I listened to, it was all instrumentals and was pretty awesome. I think I want some of his more commercial stuff first though.

I got a sweet Abbey Road poster and framed it above my bed. It's awesome.

Leper 06-17-2006 12:45 AM

Hmm framing posters is a really good idea. It looks better and the don't fall down...I need me some frames.

JonG 06-17-2006 01:37 AM

I heard Let It Be while driving today.

I have nothing else to contribute.

I love the solo in Something. :)

Leper 06-17-2006 02:07 PM

I love the solo in Let It Be as well as the one in Something. In fact, there's nothing I don't like about those two songs.

Hey Jon, is it just me, or is your avatar getting darker over time?

Seafroggys 06-17-2006 02:26 PM

the solo on the '1' version of Let it Be is one of the best solos of all time. I absolutly love it.

Though I like the Naked version better overall.
