DaveToopes 11-30-2006 04:19 PM

I'm a young one on these here forums.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 04:33 PM

That's ok.

We all start someplace when we come here.

Glitterati 11-30-2006 05:04 PM

when i first came here i was scared to post here because im not punk.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 05:05 PM

I wasn't either.

The beauty of teh web is you can be whatever you want and no one will ever know.

DaveToopes 11-30-2006 05:06 PM

I never was a punk in real life but on the internet I can always pretend right?

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 05:07 PM

Yeah Ethan how the devil did you ever end up in here?

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 05:13 PM

Everyone has a little punk living inside them even if they don't know it.

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 05:15 PM

That's not true! What about Nepalese toddlers?

pedro durruti 11-30-2006 05:26 PM

Didn't Nepalese people just win a rebellion? That's pretty damn punk.

DBoons Ghost 11-30-2006 05:52 PM

Dude. The people of Nepal are total punk rock. Buddism is soo punk.

DaveToopes 11-30-2006 05:59 PM
Yeah Ethan how the devil did you ever end up in here?
I liked punk when I showed up, I just have never been 'punx'.

asdf 11-30-2006 06:48 PM

Me too?

I don't even like all that much punk.

What am I doing here?

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 07:16 PM

You were drawn by the DIY Thread.

asdf 11-30-2006 07:22 PM

I know for a fact that my first few posts when I first joined this forum in 2003 were in the punk forum. Long before DIY.

back in the days of dkpinhead.

_Mote_ 11-30-2006 07:48 PM

By the words of the Descendents, I'm not punk. Never dressed it, I guess I kind of act 'punk' at time (if you would consider it a personallity trait), and a lot or most people don't know I listen to punk.

w00t for me.

Bukowski 11-30-2006 07:53 PM

Some of my closest friends are very into punk - ie. nofx, bad religion, lagwagon, general fat wreck chords bands, etc. I used to be too, but I (shamefully) got into "indie" like The Libertines/Killers/Razorlight and (thankfully) eventually into Pavement/Pixies/Radiohead, which got me into all kinds of different stuff.

anyway

Liebensaft 11-30-2006 08:24 PM

I don't listen to punk rock very often anymore. In fact, it's virtually never. Huh.

Brain Toad 11-30-2006 08:29 PM

Fuck Punk

Jessizzle 11-30-2006 08:36 PM

i am so punk it hurts.

asdf 11-30-2006 08:46 PM

I love how more than half the punk forum is going away from enjoying punk music, yet still posts here all the time.

Glitterati 11-30-2006 08:53 PM
Everyone has a little punk living inside them even if they don't know it.
I still like punk a lot. Crust punk but still.

Anxious 11-30-2006 09:42 PM

The only thing that I listen to that is remotely punk anymore is Black Flag's post My War stuff, and thats argueably not very punk.

World Burns To Death 11-30-2006 09:54 PM

punk????

Ghostfire3 11-30-2006 10:03 PM

Guess I'm the only one in the punk forum who listens to punk then.

Although I listen to lots of other types of music as well.

pedro durruti 11-30-2006 10:39 PM

Punk bands are great.

AIRIC 11-30-2006 10:44 PM

Yeah like the Sex Pistols.

Flagjacket 11-30-2006 10:44 PM

Well if you count like, latterman and bands like Lawrence Arms as punk then I lsiten to punk. But not punk rock.

lynch_me 11-30-2006 11:10 PM

I keep an open mind.

Brain Toad 11-30-2006 11:46 PM

It used to be just the mods did that. But now everyone seems to be still posting here while not listening to punk.

Hagbard Celine 12-01-2006 04:03 AM

i still listen to punk, i'm just on an orchestra/choral kick right now for a change of pace.
I'll also randomly wig out to 'Yakety Sax' by Boots Randolph

whiteminority 12-01-2006 07:50 AM

Nick you are a dumbshit.

Lynch Me there was no reason to close my thread, but you post in hardcore so it's all good.

lynch_me 12-01-2006 08:14 AM

I can reopen it if you want, but it's just going to continue to be 90% bashing.

Brain Toad 12-01-2006 12:31 PM

<3 you too Ben

coheneran 12-01-2006 01:09 PM

I listened to Against Me!, Common Rider and the Buzzcocks over the last two days. And a few random tracks by other bands (Skatalites - Baby Elephant Walk).

Now it's Bob Dylan - Tangled Up In Blue. This song stabbed me in the heart last Sunday. I put it on just as I was coming down from a heavily thinky trip, and the thing with this song is that just phasing in and out of listening to the words, it doesn't seem to make that much significant sense, like on a trip when you know somehow everything connects, but you can't see it all at once, the big picture, so you can't get it. There's a line in this, though, that clinched the theme of that whole trip: "We always did feel the same/We just saw it from a different point of view/Tangled up in blue"

It blew my mind. I can't put into words how much that changed things. Ouch. Acid is so goddman deconstructionist, when you come out of it, everything's changed around.

Sorry, still cogitatin' on that trip.

Iron Bug 12-01-2006 01:46 PM

I only listen to Braid.

coheneran 12-01-2006 01:59 PM

That, my furry friend, is why you are not, and I am hot.

DaveToopes 12-01-2006 02:08 PM

Got out of school early today! 2 hours early! Power outage!!!

Best part is, the two periods I missed were the periods I didn't do big assignments for today.

coheneran 12-01-2006 02:32 PM

Lol, school.

"I like to hop on freight trains
I think that is so cool
It's so much funner doing this than being stuck in school"

DaveToopes 12-01-2006 02:37 PM

I'm not as punk as you forgive me!
