Hliðskjálf is alright. It's a lot better than Dauði Baldrs, but I've never felt the urge to listen to listen it past the first few listens. I'm not even an ambient expert at all, and I know there's a lot better ambient out there.

Hlids... is ok every now and then.

Hlidskjalf kinda jump started my interest in ambient music, so it kinda has a special place for me, I still like it as a whole though.

I find some are quite good at it idk. A good deal of the ambient I listen to is related to metal bands, because that's how I find out about it. The very best ones aren't usually involved in metal though.

This, the first couple of Forest Silence demos are some of the best dark ambient around.

You might like them, the first demo is much softer and slow then the 2nd which has more vocal work, the 2nd demo is a lot more engaging and there's more going on, I like it more.

Forest Silence sucks, I heard the "Eternal Winter" demo ages ago and it was just horrible third rate black metal with some misplaced and equally terrible keys on top.

I wouldn't expect much from a band named Forest Silence.
