I like a bunch of Rush songs. They're a good band overall.

Deth 10-22-2007 08:47 PM

I listened to 3 hours of Rush on a road trip last weekend with friends and by all accounts it was progtastic goodness.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2007 09:50 PM

Rush is killer

Apocalyptic Raids 10-22-2007 10:43 PM

I have never heard any Rush.

FatalEnergy 10-22-2007 11:03 PM

lol

Invicta_Veritas 10-22-2007 11:18 PM

I find Rush respectable yet unlistenable.

In other words, talented, but I can't fucking stand the music.

C.O.A. 10-23-2007 12:34 AM

rush is cool in my book.

Riva 10-23-2007 12:39 AM

Rush is okay, but there are a few prog rock bands that I enjoy more. No points for guessing what they are though. :p

Apocalyptic Raids 10-23-2007 01:06 AM

Oh I remember now, you're the big King Crimson fan right?

Riva 10-23-2007 01:18 AM

No, Kage is. But yeah, I like King Crimson quite a bit also. Other correct answers would have been Richard Wright or Mike Oldfield (in addition to Pink Floyd, of course).

man...

how sheltered of a child were you?

Rush is the stuff

pate 10-23-2007 07:14 AM

Rush is amazing.

Vitriolic Rage 10-23-2007 09:31 AM

Can't beat a bit of Rush.

Ah, saw Anaal Nathrakh the other day, my ears are still ringing!

Invicta_Veritas 10-23-2007 01:37 PM

I would love to see AN live. Good band.

However, they don't exactly belong in this thread...

(although niether does Rush)

CatfishJones 10-23-2007 01:39 PM

I saw Rush in Raleigh, NC this summer. My dad's a big fan, so I went with him. They're all pretty talented, especially to be as old as they are, but nothing incredible.

i am the robots 10-23-2007 02:55 PM

God I love Capharnaum. Matt Heafy's vocals come off as raw rather than horrid [as they do in Trivium].
God I love Capharnaum. Matt Heafy's vocals come off as raw rather than horrid [as they do in Trivium].
He's a lot less terrible for sure, but I still try to ignore him when I listen to them.

i am the robots 10-23-2007 03:05 PM

I think his vocals actually add to the whole aggressive atmosphere.

ninjamonkey 10-23-2007 04:08 PM

for those interested, my radioshow is currently on

Are the Amon demos worth getting? They seem cool.

rattlehead42147 10-23-2007 06:43 PM

im going to guess they might be, although im not that big of a deicide fan so they wouldn't really interest me too much.
man, the riff @ about 3:15 in "override the overture" is fucking sick.

when the drums come in, i can't help but start head banging.
dude the main riff is even better methinks.
So why the hell does he suck so much in Trivium?
lack of technique, lack of effort/arrogance, just the style of his vocals not fitting the music at all.

Why would lack of arrogance affect his vocals?? hahaha
